I don't know, I don't speak italian! I'm just a Mick from southeast Baltimore. But I love some italian foods!
I found the answer to my question in the above post.
So, I took a look at the differences between a Calzone and a Stromboli:
Key Differences Between Stromboli and Calzone
Origin
| Dish | Origin |
|---|
| Calzone | Naples, Italy |
| Stromboli | Italian-American cuisine |
Shape and Construction
| Dish | Shape | Construction Method |
|---|
| Calzone | Folded, crescent | Dough is folded over the filling |
| Stromboli | Rolled, cylindrical | Dough is rolled around the filling |
Sauce Usage
| Dish | Sauce Location |
|---|
| Calzone | Served on the side |
| Stromboli | Often inside the dish |
Size and Serving Style
| Dish | Size | Serving Style |
|---|
| Calzone | Typically smaller | Individual serving |
| Stromboli | Larger, rolled | Sliced for sharing |
Thank you, Mike!
It turns out i had been eating a calzone, thinking it was a stromboli and calling it an inside out pizza.

Good afternoon gang!
Are we splitting hairs over a folded or curled up pizza here? Just don't want a hair in my food!
Chet, Love the pics, looks like something truly special!

First game today is not until 1pm. Back at Fullerton HS. Game is in 35 min.
Same 86F as yesterday. Slight breeze. Same 49-50% humidity. The difference is it’s mostly overcast. So no intense sun beating down on you.

That's a nice sweeping curve!
Looking good, trains will be running in no time!
They lost 6-12. It was as close as 6-9 but they had a hard time pulling it together.
Next game is at 7pm at a place called Sonora HS.

Lookin forward to $6 Calzones tomorrow at Ledo's Pizza.

So the next game is at 7pm at Fullerton HS (Fullerton Union HS — directly next to Fullerton College).
Today they were playing a California team that had a full complement of substitutes. They could sub everyone every other possession. Our team has a total of 2 subs (4 when the 2 who play 14u and 18u don’t have a conflicting schedule). So our girls play a lot more and get tired faster. They did pretty well considering.
Seeing as our team traveled from Utah a lot of girls didn’t come due to the cost. We also have a couple girls from teams that didn’t go. So it’s mixed. They’re doing better than they did last year.
We’ve seen teams from Brooklyn NY, a couple from Chicago, one from N Carolina, one from Texas, and a ton of California teams. Probably lots of other here we haven’t seen. The ones from far away seem to be well funded as they have large teams and large numbers of parents and “fans”.

Doing travel volleyball the last 3 years its amazing how much some of these parents dump into travel sports. A lot of them live and
breath it. all decked out with canopies, coolers, chairs, team appeared.
Sometimes I wonder if the parents want this sort of life more than the kids who play.
I am not one of those parents.

Yeah. I’ve seen the same sort of thing. The parents are living vicariously through the kids. I listened to a show or something long ago about the phenomenon.
From a practical standpoint I’d rather skip all this. But she works hard and like to play so we do it. And it’s fun to be here and on a trip as a family. But I’d never “make” her play these sorts of things.
We had a rule — you played an instrument and you did a sport. She plays guitar and swam in club swimming and then in HS. She started water polo a little over 2 years ago and really likes it. So we support her in that. But it’s not me living vicariously.

Same with youth hockey and soccer. Many of the kids on both teams the grandson has been have been on the same teams since kindergarten.
Mike, I think they get into it at first because the kids really want to play the game or the parents want them to try it. Then it can take on a life of its own especially if they are on travel teams. I can tell you the AAA travel teams are basically parents pushing their kids. The grandson played AAA for 3 summers until this year when he said he wouldn’t play. His comment to both his parents and us was they are (AAA) teams that are really for kids that can afford it, not because we are the best. He then told his mom that everyone knew last summer their goalie and 2 defensive players shouldn’t have made a C team let alone a AAA team. He said he wasn’t playing this Summer and hasn’t. He does play Tuesday nights in a pick up league just to keep his skating legs! Good for him

Well, I'd but up Schitz Creek without a paddle in your house.
I have zero musical talent. Two seperate sets of guitar lessons and I could barely read music, had no idea what a beat was (I still can't hear a beat unless a base drum is beating it out over everything else)...
And my sports ability went something like:
<announce voice> It's the 7 year old league and it's a pop-up fly into right field. Troy is running to get under it. Mitt in the air. He's got this— Ooooow! right over the top of the glove and right between the eyes. He's down.
Don't worry folks, his mother beat the coaches to poor fella. He's sitting up. No. blood, but they're walking him off the field.
I stopped playing sports that year. A ball to the head, sprained anything and everything... Sports = injuries with me.
Sometimes I wonder if the parents want this sort of life more than the kids who play.
I wonder about that too. My Grandson is on a travel baseball team , his sister is on a competitive cheer squad. There is almost always on or the other, sometimes both traveling on a weekend.
It seems almost normal for them though, the hectic, frantic weekends and practice schedules. I grew up different. Farm kids grow up riding horses, tending other animals, baling hay , all after school work. We were busy too, just a different kind of busy I guess. We did sports too, but it was all school related, and not something sponsored by a rec league, Lions club, Optimists, etc. Travel games were within the county, unless you were good enough to win the county title, then you
traveled to the next county. Those kids are traveling 3-4 states away for some games!
Been snacking on Pretzel rods coated with peanut butter this evening. Yum! Now I have to clean my mouse!
G'nite!
That's a nice sweeping curve!

They'd already be running if that was wood.
So they lost the second game. 5-9. It was 0-9 going into the 4th quarter. We had our two extra subs from the 14u team show up for the last quarter. It was a hard game. They could have beaten this team. But they’re tired. 3 games Saturday. 2 yesterday. 2 today.
I don’t understand the rules of the game completely.
Enough rambling.
Karl, you brought back memories of being at my Uncle's farm during the summers. No one will ever forget when a snake would crawl out of a hay bale and crawl up your arm! I got to go squirrel hunting and was so proud I'd gotten 6 of them. He was like "That's good shooting, but don't shoot em in the head, I like those brains in my scrambled eggs!"
