My railroad hobby time has been eaten up by this Tamiya 1/16 scale Kübelwagen over the last few months..

I started this kit years ago, building and painting the largely invisible engine..then the build stalled
I have 2 more of these kits…if I get around to building them, only the lower part of the engine eg. cylinders are visible with the hood down, so that’s all of the engine that I would build…

All in all, it’s pretty easy to build, just requiring planned assembly and painting…time consuming tho
Still have to flat coat the spare tire…

They won their first game 6-4. Daughter had a shot in goal that bounced off the top of the “cage” (goal) but they got the rebound and she took a pass and then passed to someone who scored so hot an assist.

We have to leave in 10 min to return to the pool for the second game.

We took a longer way back by the highway and passed Angels stadium and the Duck’s arena.

Good afternoon all!

Weather guessers were right in their 33% chance of a pop-up rain shower. One big dark cloud came by and rained enough to get everything
wet. It didn't even register in the rain gauge. Made it a bit more muggy out there though.

Grocery shopping, laundry, car fill-ups are all done. .

Think I will head to the basement tonight after dinner and see if I can accomplish something.

Enjoy the rest of your day!

Is that at Cal State Fullerton Campus?

Been to the Student Union building a few times for a Historical Gaming Convention. But you're a few months early for that.

In other news, we went out for the anniversary dinner to Granite City Brewing Co. I don't drink beer, and sweetie is off of booze until she talks to the rheumatologist and finds out what if any booze is safe for her drug regimen.

I got a glorified French Dip. I think they called it a "Sirloin Sandwich". Thicker slices of beef, but good.

Wife got the Chicken Pot Pie

Wife said we can add this into the restaurant mix. It was yummy.

Then we stopped at Ritters on the way home for mixers.

Today was again not fun. This time around, the company ran a promotion with giveaways, discounts, and drawings, we were busy in my department. Busy enough we would have been busy if we were fully staffed, which we only have a skeleton crew on Saturdays. I was supposed to leave work today at 4:30, but got home a few minutes ago.
The Fun Train left the station without me on board today.

Is that how you ended up in the navy?
Haha, exactly! We did a field trip out to Wheeler Air Force base and saw how they operated, which was very boring. They flew their F4 Phantoms out to do some bombing practice on the big island, which they could only do for 10 minutes, then have to come back before they ran out of fuel. The rest of the crew laid around while they were gone. I was not impressed. That, coupled with the lack of communication, direction, involvement in the ROTC program, led me to get with my buddy to join the Navy, which he did not do in the end due to some issues with him being in the Army reserve at the time.

I can relate, it was my Saturday to work too! The 2 techs I was paired with was (tech A) was more concerned with working on an old 5 series BMW that he is putting back on the road and (tech B) the biggest cry baby in the shop. You can't tell if that is sweat dripping off of him or tears. He's got something to bitch about 24/7. Thank goodness we only worked til 2!
We are having a Corvette show in August on a Saturday. I've already told the boss I'm not working that Saturday come hell or high Geritol! Nope , nope , nope. Nein, Nyet, Bü, iie, La, aniyo, or nahi. Get the picture?

Yeah, just makes steam. The old Japanese shop owners would splash water on the sidewalk in front of their shops, but that just made it steam and worse. In order to be effective, you have to cool the concrete down enough not to vaporize the water that quickly, so much more water is needed.

They win their third game 9-7. It was 9-6 with 4 seconds left. Opposing team took the only time out anyone did and made a plan and set it up and got a lucky shot. It kind of fell on the line and floated in. They played better in the cool evening with the sun behind the horizon and not on the hot sun.

All these outdoor pools are salt water pools. Our kids aren’t used to playing in salt water pools. Our pools at home are all indoor and chlorine/chemical controlled pools.
