Been trying to place an order with Horizon hobbies as they have the front wheelset for my Athearn 2-8-0. I'm using that to replace the rear wheelset with the traction tires since they blew out after only a year and I don't like traction tires anyway. Horizon don't like overseas addresses and I had to have my previous order shipped to Hawaii and then they had to fwd to me. Don't want to give them that hassle again. I asked my buddy to buy it since he has a USPS post box and I can transfer money directly to his account from mine. What a pain.

Got a nice surprise in the kitchen when I started to marinate the meat for tonight. Cheap pack of rib pieces that I bought yesterday with a sell by date of today.

Luckily I bought another pack and those have a date of 7/20, so we'll have to survive on that. I will make a lot of other fillers to keep the horde at bay. This is the fourth pack of meat that I've bought that was bad. I put in an ICE comment, again, about their cutting blade needing to be cleaned more often.

I guess I could have just put them in curry. Isn't that what curry was developed for? 🤢

Spent my “Canadian Smoke half day” at the train shop. The place is unique. Semi-organized. The guy keeps buying collections. Hardly any room in the aisles to walk. It’s like going to a train show. Athearn blue box and MDC/ Roundhouse kits are priced at $8.

Bought another car. 😲

Now these pics may be disturbing to some viewers but it’s not as bad as it looks. If you are a Tyco collector, then this is your place. Lots of Lionel too.

And this area… I really want to explore, but he won’t let me.

Crazy huh. He said there’s more in the basement. He won’t let me go down there either! 😡
The Fire Marshall would have a field day.

It looks like a gold mine!
It’s some but very little Canadian smoke. Colorado and Minnesota fires are getting caught up in the Jet Stream and coming east.
I first noticed it yesterday morning here in southeast Baltimore. When we drove to Curtis Bay a bit further south - southwest Baltimore, we didn't smell it. Working just outside the DC Beltway we didn't notice it, but we could see the haze to the north. After getting home, I spent the entire day indoors yesterday because the air quality was poor. Current AQI 194 - unhealthy.

Greetings from Anaheim. A 9.75 hour trip in 12.3 hours. Crappy traffic once we hit California. A few pee stops and a stop where I had to log in to a server to restart the mail process and a stop in St George at Costco for gas and a few items we bought to bring but forgot.

We’re here for the Junior Olympics water polo tournament. Supposedly the world’s largest youth water polo tournament with 500 teams. This is the session 1 which is coed 10u and 12u and girls 14u, 16u, and 18u teams. Session 2 starts next week and is the boys teams. (The u is “and under” so 16u is 16 years and under).

My daughter is on the local 18u team.

I drove the whole way. I was tired after 4 hours last night but had a combo caffeine and L/theanine pill before I left and drank a bunch of “Mounyain Lightning” and another caffeine pill and an l/theanine pill (2 separate this time) in Las Vegas.

Games start tomorrow.

I remember cramming for university finals doing the 32oz 7/11 coke, vivarin, more coke and more vivarin. Ended up a tired, shaking wreck that couldn't study anyway. Laid down, shook for a few hours, got up to go do the Air Force ROTC thing, marching around like a zombie. Yeah, never again.

Used to love listening to the late Hawaii comedian Rap Reiplinger. I became aware of him in 1978 when he came out with a record called Poi Dog. Basically the Cheech and Chong type record. In 1982, he made a tv special called Rap's Hawaii, for which he won an emmy. This clip was the funniest for me and I still get a laugh out of it, despite having seen it a gazillion times.

I think the skit is actually called Eulogy.

People from my generation can recite most of the jokes by memory, same like the Cheech and Chong and Monty Python skits.

I'll be rooting for her, I'm sure we all will be!

Just to qualify for a tournament like that i something special.

Cheer loud and proud dad, make sure everyone knows you are there!
I have no idea what that is, but it looks like it is worth trying!
Going to a concert in the park later. I hope the rain holds off
Enjoy the show!
Hawaii comedian Rap Reiplinger.
Not many comedians were inspired by porky pig, but that guy made it funny!

Well, howdy there internet peeps, and those hoping the polo horses don't drown!

It's Troy again.

Was going to the game store this morning, but the opponent said he's still fighting a cough from a "cold" he's had this week. Thanks, but let's postpone. We've got enough stuff going around right now.

So, the StayPuft Lord of Lies leader I went gangbusters on gets some time for more detailing time.

Here he is ready to rock last night.

"I tried to think of the most harmless thing. Something I loved from my childhood. Something that could never ever possibly destroy us. Mr. Stay Puft!"

I need to add more mini-puft dudes to the base, and I wanted him to be more orange than red. So I'll do some highlighting and washes to get there.

On the layout, I moved my piles of left-over foam pieces and cut-off around, and found even more seams between the benchwork foam that needed smoothed out. So more sanding and speckling today.
