I used to watch a guy called squatch253 on utube. He rebuilds old caterpillar tractors. From there.
I met that guy while issueing building permits last year. He showed me his tractors and antique road building equipment while I was doing the final inspection. (I worked for the County at the time)
He has lots of really cool stuff. His actual physical buildings are in a small town called Kerrick, about 20 miles NE on Hinckley.
I could see myself with that hobby, given the necessary financial means.
Maybe this is the push you need to start working on your layout again.
You read my mind.
My health has slowly but steadily improved recently. I have been knocking some physical tasks off the to-do list. I hung that storm door, got overheated and I was no worse for wear the next day. I was certain I would pay a price for that. I knocked off early, rested the remainder of the day and I was good to go the next day, thank God.
I'm hoping if all goes well when the weather breaks, I can get working on the bench work in the attic. I will pace myself; I don't need any more setbacks.
My hope is to have a two-month window in September and October when I won't need the AC to work in the attic. The AC stiffens me up like an old horse when I try to work in it. With four windows in the attic, I get a great cross ventilation.
In November I must work get working on my Thanksgiving train. Followed by my Christmas trains. If I don't finish in the attic before that I will get back to it as soon as Christmas is setup and running. I don't need heat in the attic. It is more than warm enough for me. If it gets too cold all I do is to leave the attic door in the living room open and I get plenty of heat coming up the stairs.
I have most of the lumber ready and waiting for me in the attic. Two heart attacks derailed me last time. God willing, I will stay on track this time. My goal is to have three Bicentennial trains up and running around the attic by the 4th of July.
All the planning is done; it's time to screw some

together!
Who's got the blue bulbs and do they make a difference at night?
When you say “blue bulbs” do you mean the ones that are noticeably blue? Like the French have yellow lights noticeable?
Of the more blue based pure white lights?
Well, we finally broke the triple digit threshold yesterday with 102°, but with a humidity of just 19%, it didn't feel too bad. I still didn't do any work outside!
Yeah the humidity is what kills your we’ve had several days around 100-102 per my sensor but at mid 29 to mid 30 (if not lower) humidity it’s just hot. It’s not miserable. I still go outside. I try and stay out of direct sun and save the real work for when it cools down but you don’t die just walking outside.
In this neck of the woods blue or red lights are strictly verboten on the front of a vehicle unless you are a fire engine, ambo or police
They’re not that blue. Just a blue (or sometimes purple) tinged white.

The two main color variations are warm white and bright white. Bright white has a slightly blue tinge, and warm white has a yellow tinge.
Good morning to all..........
These items came in on Monday. A pre-order from Trainworld from over a year ago. I ordered three road numbers. I have 5 or 6 of these from an earlier Athearn run in the yellow & gray and also the two tone blue. Should make a decent express train now. If only I can get my layout complete.
I have a real life work project to finish. Should take about two days.
I hope to get back to my layout work next week. I have to remove the BLOCKSignaling servo controller unit and install the new Tam Valley controller unit along with the new fascia switches/LEDs. Looking forward to getting something that works.
I need to get my truck in the shop next week. I called the shop last Monday to see when he could get me in. The answer was call next Monday. Seems there were several people traveling through this area last weekend and suffered breakdowns, so the shop was a bit over loaded. I have two other vehicles to drive and I have put these repairs of for a couple of months so it is no big deal for me to wait.
Hot today in west Texas.
I hope everyone has a great day.......John
Good Morning All!
70F @ 63% clear again. To be 95F later, flashes and boomers Fri and Sat - probably more hail too.
Got to work in the Train Cave about an hour yesterday between dealing with Goat/Chicken barn stuff. Still doing clean up for the upstairs - seems to be the never ending story. One day....maybe I will get to work with trains? It is just to hot outside to deal with anything after noon. Train Cave gets upward of 90 upstairs.... This kind of heat usually happens in Aug, has been like this since the middle of June ... not normal by any means. Aug will have 100F+ for a week or so if we are thinking usual....
Jake ( dog ) got stomped by a Doe just after I got up this am. Jake went to chase her and she took off ( as expected ), he ended up running under her and that was the 1st mistake. Doe's rear feet found his rear end. He limped off a few steps and just sat down looking at me. I decided not to go out and check him out for 5ish minutes. He got back up and limped back to the porch. No blood, and I could not feel anything busted. Half hour later he was back to his usual self so not worried about him. I suspect that his dealing with deer in the yard will change!
Maria and Angela made the CostCo trip yesterday. I usually go, but figured they could bond for awhile. Came back with a lot of stuff that needs to be cut up and/or separated before freezing - so guess what I am doing today after noon? Yup, CostCo was the typical zoo again. Glad I missed that part.

87 here and t-storms, supposed to help the temps for a few days.
Got some ribbons to hand out at a gaming convention the last weekend of August. Troy, you will get this:

Thank you gentlemen for the kind thoughts and prayers for our grandson.
He was in theatre today. A large ulcer next to an artery was found. He has lost a lot of blood and his stats etc. are all very low.
With cancer running through our family (Dawn and I went through all this when our son had the Big C 25 years ago) the Surgeon is aware that there may be tumours as well.
Hoping tomorrow will bring positive results.

Praying here.

Yeah, I've seen multiple versions of the bright white with some that look quite blue and others more just blue spectrum white. And even purple based lights...
I like the bright white. Just make sure they are aiming correctly so you don't blind, and make sure "high beams" aren't on. Both our cars now have the factory LED arrays so we have no real control over color.
Me too.
We need a prayer emoji and a "positive thoughts" emoji available for "Likes"
I could no longer resist buying that MTH Premier Conrail Bicentennial GG1 I've been watching on eBay.
This day just keeps getting better!
I remembered buying a MTH Z-1000, 100-Watt AC Transformer from a brilliant friend of mine. Then I thought; didn't I buy a MTH DCS Remote Commander Set on eBay to go with it? I sure did and it is in my inventory with the box number it is stored in!
I'm looking forward to many more pleasant surprises when I finally begin unboxing all my train stuff.
No worries, God knows your thoughts.

Its always amazing what treasures loom in the train room when you start opening boxes of stuff that get shoved to the side for years.
I discovered a box of N scale locomotives, turnouts, and rolling stock that I had assumed got sold off wit the other things when
I switched to Ho scale.
Funny how we acquire so much stuff that we forget we even had!

What makes them worse is that these pick-up truck owners are now jacking them up higher.
I have even seen them running around here with lights on the side, around the rims, wheel wells, and the whole underneath lit.
Its like one huge blob of light coming at you and you have you squint as they go by or your temporarily blinded.

I usually use my off hand as a shield or flag to block the obnoxiously bright ones. Do the same with the white death ball in the sky when I need to see the stop light and the deathball is under the level of the traffic light.
Spent the afternoon priming an army of Undead Romans. They've got Army Painter Airbrush matt black on them now. I like that primer for the airbrush. Goes on even (unless it's the loose nut behind the airbrush getting the tip too close to the model). No thinning. The only downside is the bottle has a small dropper spout. So it's difficult to pour excess out of the bottle back into the cup.
Also, looks like a mishap on the far east side of fort wayne
Something my AI Band KAORI has been working on (translation: I've been working on trying to get certain types of results from the "AI")
If you like Fusion and Prog at all you should at least find this mildly interesting.
