But wait, if you order in the next 30 minutes we will include a second one absolutely free.

Just pat processing and handling fees. ;)
But wait! There's more!
And for just a dollar more, we'll toss in a full case of SHAMWOW cloths!

In other news... Back from pizza. Made the mistake of going to Pizza hut. We have real ones around here, not the carryout only, or sidewalk dining ones.

It was PACKED!. Parking lot was full... I saw that, and the brain said "Wednesday."

"It's buffet night" said the wife.

So we turned around and headed out to a local pizza place that does wood fired.

I hate it when they don't pop the pizza bubbles. All the toppings slide off the crust bubble.

Then we stopped at Target and got another litter box. I installed that in my loo.

Since it's now raining hard, the cat is hunkered down in the basement. I'll try to get him upstairs and show him the new facilities before bed time.

It's 102.5F and 23% out here on the patio today. Yes, I'm actually out here on the patio; this is my kind of weather! Though a couple degrees cooler would be better. And so would my pool pump being operational; it's currently on the fritz.

The funeral for my Uncle is now done. It was good to see the family up there, but also outright exhausting due to the number of unfamiliar people involved. The drive home wasn't bad, and then I crashed. Slept hard until 1PM today, then had to get up and ready and out of the house to go to the gastro doc for a consult regarding the upcoming anal probe.

Can't you tell I'm excited for my colonoscopy? Now scheduled for a couple of weeks from now; the procedure would not be so bad if not for the prep, but then I'm preaching to the choir, I'd imagine.

I did have time to pull out a few of the acquisitions from the train store last night. I learned that my new NS SD70M can only pull six box cars up the approx. 2% grade on the playout before it starts slipping something fierce.

Kinda disappointing, but oh well. It's a learning experience.

Now I need to get around to pulling out the rest of the stuff I bought; will probably get there this evening.

I bought the NS loco before I saw the merger announcement, amusingly enough. I saw this the next morning:

I can see it staying UP. It’s the last of the original railroads in the US

And I said, "Ok, so it's the Union Pacific Unified Rail System, aka. UP URS". But then–

Maybe UP Yours?

–someone ninja'd my joke. :(

It was quite scary last night as he was transferred to another (specialist) hospital that has better equipment for him.

Hope things are getting better there...

How much of a chore is it to get him in that carrier?
I leave mine in the middle of the living room floor for a couple of days before the vet visit. Sometimes they get comfy enough that they fall asleep in them, so I just close and zip the lids.

That makes them mad, but oh well. :)

Have a good day, folks. I'm going to go finish reading through the rest of the threads I've not caught up on... You go away for two days and the forum moves on without you!

Good Evening all !

Could not get a hail pix as it went away darn fast. Bouncing off our metal roof is the best... To rain for another hour ... hour.5, makes life interesting ... right?

We got some thunder boomers that moved through in under an hour. I went up to prep the coffee pot for tomorrow.... Looked out the window at the patio, and wife's orange planter tub with her tomato plants was taking a nap on the patio. They were way too top heavy to stand up to wind.

I pointed the sideways planter out to her. She tried to get me to say I'd clear the plants out tomorrow while she's heading to Indy.

But, tomato leaf oils make me itchy. It doesn't bother her.

So she's out chopping up her plants.

I suspect we'll be having, yet again, the conversation about: If you want a real garden, we need to sell and buy a house with a yard....

Her reply is always: But I love our community and the walking trails. No mowing or exterior maintenance...

She can have one, not both.

Good evening from a cool 61f degrees in So Central Wisconsin. It rained from overnight straight through to 5pm give or take. I checked the rain gauge at 8 and there was 2.75”. The 61 degrees according to the local TV meteorologist at 10pm is the lowest we’ve been since 7/15! Wake-up at 5 tomorrow maybe 59 per the WeatherChannel app.

I have a dentist at 7 to fill a soft tooth not yet a cavity! Preventative the doc is calling it. Then at 8:30 I meet with my GP for a review of my still to me too high blood pressure. I printed out my numbers and the last 6 weeks I’m averaging 135 with a high of 172 the day after I started the meds to a 118 low a few times in the last 2 weeks.

Had a ball with 6 adults and 25 kids, aged 10 to 14 year olds today. Only 16 replied they would be here so the 25 was unexpected. The 1st slot car race series of the season was a huge fun success. The hot shot racing grandson never placed in anything but the heat races. He was then severely beaten on his own track in the finals in each of the 3 classes. The 6 adults raced each other before the finals and I think the kids are still laughing. I was 4th in a 25 lap race.

2 kids did complain that the track was really slow compared to the one place they race. The grandson explained that we lowered the voltage to the track to 11.5 to make the racing more realistic. The 2 said they didn’t know that could be done. He, I thought handled it well.

The kids voted at break time and like the 3 classes of racing and would like to come back bi-monthly to race. The racers parents were given results of the survey at pickup and a survey to fill out themselves but online.

Like I’ve written before I’m impressed with the organizational skills the 4 kids put into this from an idea 3 weeks ago to a nice success today. The 4 were overwhelmed by the LHS gesture of gift certificates for the top 3 that placed in each of the 3 classes raced. $105 total dollars. They called the shop and they thanked the owner. They plan to visit the shop this weekend and thank him again. The grandson said he needs new tires which I agree he does after see the winning cars stick to the track as they raced. The pizzas, soda and hamburgers plus fixings cost $131.00 per their accounting but were paid for by the grandson’s parents. The 3 1st place trophies and 2n and 3rd place ribbons were budgeted at the grandson’s $100. The trophy place then only charged him $50 when he picked them up this morning. So not a cheap day and they know they won’t do a pizza/hamburger thing next time and maybe just ribbons that the trophy place said they can do at a good price instead of trophies. No racer was charged to race and that was a question on the parents survey for future races. The surveys, a bulletin and the online survey all had thank you’s to the trophy store, the LHS and the 3 kids parents and the 4th organizer her grandparents. The 5 adults who acted as stewards, we were also thanked. The kids did a bang up job

Tomorrow morning for me is full and Terry mentioned maybe taking off for an overnight getaway after I get home!

Good morning. It's clear and 80, with a heat advisory.

The second air conditioner has failed. I just bought a replacement, and will be installing it Sunday... At least there is a two year warranty on them, so if they fail again next Summer, replacement won't cost anything but labor.
