Just ran across this and thought some would get a kick out of it!

Simply beautiful!

Is that a Weber Kettle I see? Best grill ever, at least in my opinion.

I'm glad to hear he is well cared for.
I love the Weber when the weather is nice. I miss the propane grill in the winter because it's continuously damp/dripping/raining and makes working with charcoal difficult. I use the kettle a lot for smoking. I found a 50/50 mix of mesquite and hickory chunks works well.

My brother told me to get the 26" kettle, but I didn't think I would need one that big. I should have listened to my younger brother.

Well, howdy there internet peeps and those who hope that UP/NFS pick a new color for the livery after consolidation.

I am not fond of the color yellow (nor orange, but can deal with it more than yellow), and Black should be for steam.

David: Hope your grandson is doing better and the ailment is mild.

As for Lord Fuzzbutt
Cat was pronounced mostly fine.

Here he is looking around as I opened the carrier:

That's his OH SHIKKIES! THE VET! look.

and here he is after they brought him a warm towel to hide under. It took a lot of willpower for me to not a joke about hitchhiking or the number 42.

He's in good health, but 13 years old next month. Vet said cats hide pain and ailments well. She says he's the right age for arthritis to begin, and he may not like the stairs. His teeth are good, but one was missing. He might have been fighting that and acting out against the pain by peeing on the landing.

She suggested adding a box upstairs so he doesn't have to trek down two flights in the evening.

I'll be looking for another high sided litter box to keep in my upstairs bathroom. Not looking forward to the litter on the floor, but we'll make it work.

They're keeping him through this afternoon, trying to get him to pee so they can look for crystals in his urine. If found, that's expensive cat food, and an explanation of why he's been piddling outside the box.

Our Lord Fuzzbutt loves his vet, he even weighs himself just to help out!

19 pounds of fuzz!

It works for Kitty litter too!

I'm more concerned about ME heading for the 2 am pee run after he's kicked litter all over. At 2am I am not awake enough to clean litter up before I pee. And after I step in the pile, I will be too awake to go back to sleep

How much of a chore is it to get him in that carrier?

We got rid of the big one he takes airplane rides in (to and from Los Angeles from Indiana).

I leave that carrier out somewhere in the basement and occasionally put his treats in it.

Having a top flap, his instinct is to crouch at danger, so I can start the zippers on the top flap while he's still in OH SHIT mode.

Good afternoon from a still raining So. Central Wisconsin. I made the trek north and helped do what I could. Really shorthanded today plus a couple things on the list that were tackled nothing seemed to match the measurements. What we got done was fine but really wish more could have done.

I am at the grandson’s house! The 1st slot car race is scheduled for 2:20pm. Warmups start at 2. So far there are 16 kids here and 2 granddads with 3 more having acknowledged they will be here. Pizza and hamburgers are still on the agenda but at 5:30 instead of 5pm. I briefly stopped at the LHS and he asked why I left the work session so early. He understood I told him about the races. He gave me 9 gift certificates to give to the 3 classes winners 1-2 and 3 in his store. That was nice of him. He said now he understands why the slot department has done so well since Monday and there have been so many kids with parents in the store. While pizza and hamburgers are being served the racers will decide if they want to try to schedule monthly races or every other month. They also will decide if boosters will be allowed in future races. A booster is like our powerpacks/keep alives and can be triggered to add a couple volts to the car speeding it up for 3-5 seconds. I didn’t even know that was possible!

NORTHBRIT, hope your grandson gets better quick.

Stay cool

Many years back we had four cats permanent. (We took cats in and found them homes.)
Anyway one Saturday Dawn and I went to Harrogate for the day. Our (then 18 years old) son was home. The cats keeping him company.

It was about 9.00pm when we returned home. Flashing lights on Police Cars and Gas Company vans. A serious gas leak. We could not get to our house. Everyone in the street had to evacuate. Dawn was frantic as to where our son could be. On being directed to the Parish Hall we found him holding a cat carrier case.

How did he manage to get four cats in the case? However he did it there was pandemonium inside.

Good afternoon, all! I probably don't need to tell you it's hot. Just got back from the barber, $20 + $5 tip. Scheduled my driver license renewal. I have to actual appear there as I'm of an age that eliminates on-line renewal. They must be busy as my appointment is 3 weeks away.

Len - May he rest in peace
David - Hope it's nothing to serious and heals quickly.

Good to hear that those in the tsunami zones were OK.

Trains haven't moved in a while. Not surprised if cobwebs appear.

STAY SAFE
LATER

Well, Lord Fuzzbutt is excellent at keeping his legs crossed. Even in a kennel with water, he didn't go
at all in 6 hours. They even gave him a chill pill to calm him. Nope. Still hasn't gone at home either. He's one stubborn cat.

We'll add the litter box. Vet thinks he might have been having some issues with a tooth that's gone missing. Other teeth look good with small amount of tartar.

He's almost 12, and she suspects arthritis since he's not playing active like he used to (jumping at toys and strings hasn't been going on for a year or so.)

Waiting on the wife to tell me where we're going for pizza. Tomorrow she leaves on a business trip to Indianapolis, back on Friday. So I'll be without a car until the weekend (we only have one vehicle). So the cat and I will be doing whatever Thurs and Friday.

Oh, and the Vet has cat cages with spayed and neutered kittens for adoption from the humane society. That's going to be tough to leave alone every time we go visit.

My last haircut cost $22 + 5. Barber had to move and so had to raise his prices from $20. Ah, yes, driver's license renewal. State of Colorado requires drivers over 80 to take an eye test showing 20/40 vision. I tried getting the form filled out by my optometrist, and renew on line. Oh, NO! Have to make an appointment. Earliest would have been 3 weeks after my old one would have expired! Went over to the DMV store and explained I needed an extension. They had me stand up, cover one eye and then the other. 20/20, go over there and wait. They gave me a paper with the extension, and told me the real card might take 30 days. Got it in the mail in about 10. The bureocracy wil kill ya!
