Good Morning All. Partly cloudy and a warmish 76°; not supposed to get out of the upper 80's today. The NWS has issued an "Active Flash Flood Watch" for 22 counties here in North Central Texas and also for parts of southern Oklahoma. It's in effect from Saturday afternoon until Sunday evening. Thunderstorms are predicted to start about 7:00 pm. Might flood my front yard for a couple of hours, but only because the county road crew doesn't maintain the drainage ditches alongside our main road very well.
Headed out this morning for the memorial service for my wife's cousin, about 65 miles away. Service starts at 11:00. I'm not sure whether or not there is a graveside service along with it or not. Playing this one by ear. Other than the deceased and my BIL, I won't know anyone there. I last saw both of them at Christmas. Kind of a drag that I have to wear long pants and socks today.
Yesterday was a typical day for me, did some more mulching in the garden and picked about 2 dozen Tomatoes. Finally finished trimming the tops and roots from May's Onion harvest, as they had all finally dried/cured. They'll be stored in bins under the train shed overhang until they are used up. They normally last into December before cooler temperatures cause them to start to sprout. If they last that long, I take the remaining ones and chop and freeze them. I should have mowed yesterday, but didn't. I'll need to do it this afternoon after we get home because if this rain really does materialize, I won't be able to get it done until mid-week. By then what needs it now will be an absolute hayfield.
Out in the train shed yesterday, all that I did was to continue to clean structures. I mentioned the bank yesterday, and I thought to repost my favorite scene on the layout.
L to R, Jethro, Granny, Ellie May, Jed, Miss Hathaway, and Mr Drysdale.
Still in the truck is Cousin Pearl.
I have to give credit to
Mike for alerting me to this 3d printed kit.
Dave - Since we're on a septic tank, I have my preferred trees, one by the garden, another outside the train shed, two near the back door, one by the pool and several rarely used ones out the front door.
Troy - I never really did the laundry math, but here it is shorts/tees from mid-February til after Thanksgiving. I still only wear socks 3-4 times a year though.
Louis - I got a few eyefuls when collecting for my paper route during HS. Several different houses many times. Some of them were really decent views. There were also the lingerie views as well. I didn't need Playboy!
Tom O - I remember you posting some Art Fair pictures a few years ago. Pre-Covid I believe. Looked like a really interesting affair.
Today is International Skinny Dip Day. Easy to do if you have a pool like I do. Participate if you dare.
Everyone have a wonderful Saturday.
