Afternoon All,

Started out the day with a walk at a cool 74F but still humid. I finished up a HOA project today for the wife and I painted 3 ducks from Mini-Prints. They enclosed 6 skunks for free. :D I am also experimenting with paint colors for a bottom of a cow pond. Tomorrow, I have a throat Cat Scan. Dad just told me he needs 3 x-rays so he'll go with me. X-rays are walk-in with no appointments.

David- Nice looking gondolas. I also like longer cruises without port visits.

Louis- Interesting "Monkey Wards" photo.

Karl- That sucks being let go that close to retirement. Is there a company retirement fund?

Willie- Nice scenes. We're getting the same effect from the northeastern paradise transplants.

George- Your story reminds me of one I have. I was temporarily assigned to the USS Coral Sea (Yokosuka) as part of a contingent that controlled water management for several subs during a battle group exercise. We were in the Sea of Japan; it was morning, and I was walking through the hanger bay on the way to the galley. The large hanger door was open, and a UNREP was being conducted with a supply ship. The carrier wasn't rocking at all, but the supply ship looked like it was rocketing up and down. I couldn't see how anyone on the ship was able to stand much less function. As a sub guy I was glad to be on the carrier that morning.😲 When our team left the carrier, we left via the COD flight, so we were catapulted off. Not for me.

I hope everyone has a good night.

Deli ham at the deli counter is my favorite sandwich meat.
Not much better than a good domestic ham, except for Esskay bologna. imported Polish ham is pretty good too. I haven't been buying much deli meats. I'm only supposed to eat whole wheat bread and that takes the fun out of sandwiches.

I still like to look at the meats at the deli counter, but I don't like seeing the prices!

When we went into Food Lion today, they had Tastykakes on sale. I enjoyed looking at them too but didn't buy any.

Curt there were 17 ships in the task force I was a part of. The supply ships would pull alongside and transfer food, fuel and movies. Other than food new movies were the most important things transferred from ship to ship.

Good morning gang!

73° and cloudy, looking for a high of 86° and maybe a pop up thunderstorm later, maybe not.

Strange day at work yesterday as they let my immediate supervisor and boss of 7 years go. His boss and the general manager say that me and my co-worker are good and no worries, but hey, this is the car biz. Nobody is guaranteed tomorrow. Plus when I started here 9 years ago it was a family owned business until 3 years ago. You knew on a daily basis where you stood, now it's corporate and it's all about numbers. 5 more years til retirement,, I hope I can hang on til then. Bob had 8 months to go. It's unsettling.

Didn't feel like playing in the basement last night, maybe tonight.

Louis, they look like stone crabs on the AI pics, like you said, so much for what IA knows.

Troy. Sounds like the wife has both barrels loaded and hunting for bear. I wouldn't push her buttons in her mood!!

BBL
I've heard of companies doing that to people because they don't want to pay retirement.

A Tree Fell in Brooklyn actually many trees in Bensonhurst, and along the Bay Ridge Parkway, as a line of storms passed through.
We had several storms pass through here, some quite nasty, but no damage that I am aware of, locally. Temperature on the front porch dropped from 90°F to 75° but it's muggy as it can get in the summer. Wednesday and Thursday are forecast in the 90s with high humidity...looks like Summer finally found us. According to the "Official" Rutgers University site, the High was 86° and Rainfall was 3.52". My back yard gauge shows a little over 1".

Meanwhile in da Bronx, da Mets face da Yankees in about a half hour weather permitting. The O's continue their visit to Philadelphia, also weather permitting. Not sure what game to listen to.

Car passed inspection this morning, good until July 2025.

Today, is the official "Christmas" in July

According to the Times, the Teamsters and UPS have a tentative agreement in their contract negotiations.

Good evening from Camp Swampy, where it's 85 and getting dark.
There was some excitement today in the shop, when a technician somehow managed to blow up a tire on a motor home. Literally, blow up, as in catastrophic destruction, with pieces of tire, wheel cover, and motor home being flung far and wide. The technician suffered two broken bones in his arm, and several broken bones in his hand and fingers. The tire in question had a max inflation of 80, so he must have had nearly twice that in it when it finally let go.
So, we're now down another tech, and I'm expecting a visit from some Suits in the next couple of days.

This is probably a stupid question...but did the "technician" ever heard of tire pressure gauge?;)

How much PSI are you guys running in the shop? Ours tops out at 125 on a good day, usually with everyone running air tools and lifts it averages 95-100. Sounds like your guy is gonna be out for a while, OUCH!

I have been eating English muffins the last month. I miss bread though but haven‘t had any store purchased white bread in over. 2 years. I have a good handle on my a1c and my carb count. English muffins while not the best choice it’s better then white bread

Deli meats I like Deluoso the best. The most over rated IMO is Boars head
