Morning all,

75° and clear, with air you can wear this morning. Try to find a dry towel, I dare you. AQI at 37. Supposed to get to 103° later with heat index to 110°. I handle cold a lot better than heat.

I was working for a vendor to auto dealers in the 90's when I saw a customer's truck get hit in the parking lot. Other than the melted radio antenna, you'd never know it had a problem, until you tried to start it...Fried every wire and the electronics inside.

Not much else going on today. Yet I should say....

BBL

Good morning, Everybody!

Great, but didn't help against da Bums last night.

Show the energy sector that a bunch of people want to charge their EVs at home from their own solar grid overnight. Someone will come up with a power wall and way to store their days' solar energy to be tapped later. The more they can sell of those, the more competition enters the arena, and the farther prices drop.
Well, old timer, you make several good points. 1. concerning the issue; and 2. that the issue will rapidly turn partisan. Both of which are unfortunate. When it comes to these issues, folks are their own worst enemies.

I can relate. We had a customer whose Equinox was struck by lightning. He did not realize it until the car shut off and he pulled to the side of the road. It was totally dead. It was towed into us and the only visible damage was the 8" antenna on the back of the roof was about 3 inches long. Otherwise it looked fine. Insurance wound up totalling the car since every module and wiring harness would need to be replaced. It was a shame that a 2 year old car that looked great was a total loss.

Good morning gang!

Flo, can I get 2 over easy, with some light toast and a pile of bacon this morning?

74° and hazy, heading to 90° wit 79% humidity and an AQI of 108, unhealthy, yech!

Willie, love the derelict barn! Hope everything goes well with the eye guy today!

Louis, I remember those busses !!

Probably no trains tonight. Granddaughter has her final swimming lesson/exam tonight. She has to swim the length of the pool. Little 5 year old swims like a fish but we will be there to cheer her on. Then dinner and Ice Cream afterward!

Good morning. I finally got to sleep this morning. Up at 6:55 with just under 4 hours of good sleep and I have no reason why I couldn’t sleep last night as yesterday was a good day.

The Air Quality number is 25 in So. Central Wisconsin and Troy I’m trying hard to send it your way. But, it’s cold at 56f degrees heading now to just 79f. Yesterday they said today would be in the high 80’s. Wrong again.

Breakfast for at least 16 and maybe 22 is at 10 this morning. We did get a tent installed over my patio to keep the bright sun away. The course is a solid 7 minutes away. Golf is at 1, dinner is around 7. Both breakfast and dinner are out at the house today. I thought I jokingly got an offer to buy the house yesterday. When he asked how much property we had, I got kicked under the table. Terry thinks the guy was serious. Told him if he’s serious to talk to the wife. We shall see.

My outdoor kitchen held up quite well yesterday morning. Actually the whole outdoor thing at the house is holding up except the sunshades, that’s why the tent today.

Willie best to you on the Cataract review. My first time the doctor said the eyes weren’t bad enough to qualify, come back in 60 days. Gee one eye qualified the other did not. Doctor said he could do the one eye but would prefer to wait to do both. Come back in 60 days. I did and 2 weeks later he did the one eye, 3 weeks later he did the second eye. Cataract surgery was absolutely earth shattering for me. I have been wearing glasses since 1st grade and they were thick heavy lenses. Now I only wear them if I need to read something within 3-4’ of me, at the work bench or eating.

enjoy the day

Interesting sun last night, almost completely obscured by smoke and clouds.

Morning FLO! Please drop off the coffee pot for me - Another sleepless night!
Rather than tossing/ turning all night, I should join others of you with the same mindset.
I must have made 10-12 bathroom visits during the night; I have been having some problems in that department lately.

No new record yesterday - stopped going up at 99 degrees as humidity was 27 and AQI at 34.
Today is planned for Sunny, hot, uv 10+,AQI 35, and planned 97 degrees.

After Saturday's Bunco party and 14 couples playing 'the newlywed game' - the wife and I have signed up for marriage counseling and a memory course!

FLO - be back later for lunch, thank you!

TERRY'S lightening mishap has brought back a decades old memory!

Sometime during the 1970's at Chicago's ORD field a long, very violent line of thunderstorms was approaching from the West-Southwest and it was a massive front. We pushed back from the gate and were trying to leave town before the weather system arrived - was not to be as we were "stacked up" behind 10-12 other planes in a line along the "runup" area. Directly in front of me was an American 727 and ahead of him was a United 727 and so forth.
The weather system really showed out with thunder (we could hear). wind shaking the plane, and lightning flashing everywhere.

TOWER: United, looks like you took a strike!

United: YEAH, that was a good one! We better return to the terminal and have it checked out.

TOWER gives United taxi instructions to leave the que.

American: Say, tower ... do you mind if we taxi over to the spot where United was?

TOWER: Well, you can if you want too, but there is no need - Nothing is going to be moving for quite a while.

American: Well, I have always heard that lightning doesn't hit the same spot twice - we'll move!

It was a raunchy night!

Good noon. Starting to be hot today. I'm in Quakertown today and look what i found. I thought a "U boat" at first, but widened area after engine hatches suggests newer "B boat" i'm thinking B36-7, but will have to check info. Deffinitely ex. Conrail judging by still Royal blue around windows.

That one is a B23-7. You can tell by counting the tall doors where the engine is, in this case there are 6 per side, one per cylinder, which would be a V12.

Afternoon All,

Started out the day with a walk at 77F and very humid. Afterwards we rented a auger to drill 2 post holes. Now come the fun part! I can't get it started. I call Greenbelt and they say to do what I did, so MOH takes it back, they test it and say it works. MOH brings it back and it still doesn't work. 😤 😤 At this point son says flip the on/off switch to off and try again. Sure, enough the switch is on reversed. After the 2 holes were dug. MOH took the auger back and son and I cut 2 6x6 posts and mixed-up concrete and placed it in the holes around the posts. Fun times.

Tomorrow first thing I have to go to the VA for a blood draw for a throat CT next week. After that who knows, but I'm sure MOH will find something for me.

Terry- Funny comment. Bosses have no humor.

Willie- Better to get power on earlier than later.

Louis- Nice photos.

David- Are the front bumpers oversized in the photo (with the white) or is it just because of the color?

Troy- Happy Anniversary.

Joe- I watched a satirical movie yesterday about a comet that would end up destroying the planet (think dinosaurs). It's called "Don't Look Up". It was dead on about modern social media and how it has so much control over everything and how clueless the government is.

Karl- Have fun tonight.

Jeff- Interesting photos.

I hope everyone has a good night.

Sometimes I think the people running railways do not want to. Oh yes! Give them a fat paycheck, but do not care. Gone are the names of most of the famous trains. One that does is 'The Flying Scotsman' train (not the locomotive, but the train). The named train runs only one way, Edinburgh to London?

Gone most of the small handle freight. Only bulk freight seems to be their way.
Passengers? I get the feeling the Management want to drive people off the trains. Rather than encourage preople to travel, they want to increase prices causing an exodus to other travel.

There are more instances of driving custom away.

One that amazes me is the closure of Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch in North Wales? The line is still there. Trains pass the station, but do not stop? Possibly too many people want to go there. They cannot have that.

Now the station has been sold and the owner has more visitors to his business next door.

I can't disagree, 5IP, 4ER is not what you hope for from a top of the rotation starter. Grayson has a live arm and all the pitches he needs. Now he needs to learn the art of pitching. If I were the Orioles' GM, I would bring in an old veteran to mentor him who can still take a turn in the rotation. Like Robin Roberts did with the baby birds of the early 60s.
