Afternoon all,

In all my busyness, I forgot I was going to change my avatar to something new as Jeffrey's birthday was Friday. So for now, I'm using the only one I had available. The world's best Santa Clause Cookies!

Got the yard mowed, groceries for the week, and the laundry started. I think the washer is getting ready to bite the dust, as it didn't do it's final spin, but a spin and drain only cycle completed that load. Picked another 1/2 pound of those yellow tomatoes. That plant is going everywhere. Those yellow tomatoes are a little less acidy that their red counterparts, but no other tomatoes quite ready yet. The longer they stay connected to the plant, the tastier they are.

First movie I really remember was Chitty, Chitty, Bang, Bang. Written by Ian Fleming of James Bond fame. From there many others followed over the years.

I did see Song of the South as a Saturday flick once, and have seen it again on video about a year or so. Daughter was able to inter-library loan a DVD of it. Don't know where the DVD originated, as Disney said they never made one for the US market.

Afternoon All,

Started out today with chores around the house and getting things set up for the new skunk arrival tomorrow. We need to leave the house around 10 am to drive to the vet who is about 40 minutes away. This afternoon Dad wanted to run a freight pulled by his WM 2-6-6-2. Unfortunately, he was having issues operating the DT402D throttle and remembering to check switch position, but he seemed to enjoy himself.

Movies: When I was young, we went to every Disney movie that came out. The movie "Them" was my first horror movie (TV). I do remember when "paint your wagon" came out (1969) I was 12 and my brother 11 were taken to it and Dad said we were laughing so hard everyone was looking at us.

Hughie- Nice layout scene.

Louis- Nice crossover photo.

TomO- I believe Angela was in Maine.

Willie- Nice display of motive power.

Guy- I'm interested in what you do with the caboose.

Patrick- I had to blow up your avatar by 300% to see what it was, but I do like windmill cookies.

I hope everyone has a good night.

The scooter! A tough, scrappy shortstop. I didn't get to see him play.
Louis I think I seen him play. My father took me to a Yankees game in 1955. I remember standing right next to the batting cage when Billy Martin asked Micky Mantle what time did you leave the Copacabana last night. Micky said around 3am. I can't remember much else but that stuck with me over the years.

Evening. Rain or rainy all day today, with some places having running rivers, where there is no riverbed. Went out west of Harrisburg to look for some action on Pennsy mainline. This unusual gondola was tucked at the back of freight train in Enola Yard:

Built in 1972 so got to be Penn Central origins:

From there went all the way to Strasburg with hopes of possibly catching last scheduled steam for the weekend. Norfolk and Western M class leading:

Wet all around and raining again;

This second pick is at Cherry Hill RR crossing. After changing ends at Paradise "Mastodon" is charging uphill back toward Strasburg:

Louis I recently came across this pic, of a Baltimore Transit Company unit that was turned into a fruit stand. It stood for years along Reisterstown Road near McDonough Rd. That stretch of roadway is 6 lanes wide now. View attachment 171433

I plan on kitbashing something like this on the layout next year.
I look forward to seeing that!

I remember Chet had a railroad dinner car converted into a roadside diner on his layout.

This is a suitable time to point out why a Lionel enthusiast like me, with no artistic talent enjoys this coffee shop full of HO people. Not only are there great people here, but many are also amazing artists! I don't have to be an artist to enjoy these great works of art.

Good morning y'all. Currently 72° with the sun breaking through the morning Haze. Yesterday, we had 0.62" of rain. It should be dry with a mix of sun and clouds today with a temperature in the mid 80s.

Today, I have a lot of phone work that I have been putting off. Tomorrow, I take the car to the DMV for the every two year "inspection". I have some set aside time for the train room later, if I don't run out of gas first.

That is an ex NH "American Flyer" coach behind the 4897. Non reclining bucket seats - Art Deco styling reflecting the late 1930s design. If you look closely, the 4897 is standing, and the Conductor is on the ground talking to the Engineer.
