VW never made a Jetta in the US with dual headlights/fog lights like the GTI used to have. Did you swap the headlight/grills on this? The front plate is not US but you're in the US and the background looks like the US (house and trash can etc).

I had an 89 Golf with square headlights and took it to Germany where it got into an accident. I replaced the front grill/headlights with the GTI style with fog lights like you have there as they didn't have the standard US style square lights for the Golf there.
Yepper, i did the swap as i like that "rally" look better. I used to have an MK2 golf, few of them, overall awesome cars. Here in Pennsylvania where i live no front plate is displayed so people put on what ever floats their boat. I like that Euro look, so the german plate is it.

Good afternoon. I am just about to fire up the outdoor grill. Shrimp on the grill and the g/d decided she and friends wanted sloppy joes with fries. I was wondering why yesterday I couldn’t hide from the sun out by the pool. Today, I remembered to put up the shade sails. So much easier than patio umbrellas when it’s windy. I do have 3 of those also but the shades sails do a better job.

I have a super mouse of a mom here with her daughter who is a friend of the granddaughter. 2 kids with Down Syndrome. The 3rd girl in the pool is just a regular 7th grader who is very nice to the other 2 and plays well with them. She has a brother who has autism. Her mother is playing the helicopter mom to the highest degree. But, while a nice person she does not stop talking and is sure her daughter should not eat the sloppy joes. Why, because Terry made them for us before we left on the travels and froze them. I told her she can have some shrimp as that is fresh from the fish monger. She literally asked me if there were any hot dogs!!! Can’t eat frozen but will give her daughter hot dogs. I love a good hot dog, heck I even buy the $2.00 hot dogs in the exit foyer at Home Depot. Our HD makes great Chicago style dogs and Chicago style Italian beef sandwiches. The fries are just ok! I didn’t bring any hot dogs over from the house and what I do have there are frozen. I do have a small under counter refrigerator in the outdoor kitchen. But, it does not have a freezer section.

Time to go, the 2 teenage girls who will handle life guarding and playing in the pool duties just showed up. Need to feed the full crew now that they r here.

Afternoon All,

After grandson's birthday and a night of reflux with spotty sleep I think I got up and had a cup of coffee. I did some routine pool maintenance and ran to the pool store for chlorine. After that I had to Pick up and take Dad to the Stealership for free servicing, and he ordered some touch up paint for his driving mistakes. After lunch MOH and I went to Save-A-Lot and finally after getting home I'm watching the re made Midway.

Guy- Nice 1:1 photos.

Chad- Interesting video.

Joe/Terry/Mac- Thanks for the 1:1 info. I find it quite interesting.

Troy- I imagine you were sorry to see the notice, nice job on the vents.

Joe- Amazing story. Kinda sounds like the way things happen in the military. Some days it's good to just be lucky.

Louis- Bruce Dern always played either wackos or bad guys and he did it well. The exception that I'm aware of was the SciFi movie Silent Running when he saves Earth's remaining forests. If I remember rightly.

Karl- It sounds like the beginning of Skynet.

TomO- Interesting photos and excellent weathering. Enjoy the cookout.

Willie- Last year 4 jugs (10 gallons) cost $25 today it cost $37.50 😲. A more than 50% increase. Ridiculous.

I hope everyone has a good night.

Out of curiosity what does the front plate look like?

(Utah is technically a 2 plate state but they can't cite you for it without another cause -- if they get you for speeding they can cite for the missing front plate but they can't just pull you over for the missing front plate -- we don't have front plates -- my Audi doesn't even have the holder as I got it in a 1 plate state -- and a good percentage of people drive with 1 plate here)

It fits right inside built in licence indent.
Utah cool, one of my favorite states. I even named my cat after it.

Real epidemic is when people start dying by the millions and no one really knows why.
Seeing as you used both words in the same paragraph, let me explain.

The meaning of the word Pandemic

"a widespread occurrence of an infectious disease over a whole country or the world at a particular time".

The meaning of the word Epidemic

"a widespread occurrence of an infectious disease in a community at a particular time".

Oh and by the way, the use of masks was to mitigate the spread of the virus, not you contracting the virus

The jabs everyone was asked to take was not a vaccination per se', but a means to alleviate the symptoms that lead to hospitalization/death and to protect those at high risk of dying ie. the elderly, those with heart conditions etc.

There are currently 691,207,603 confirmed cases and 6,898,266 deaths from the coronavirus COVID-19 outbreak as of July 07, 2023, 13:29 GMT.

I think the above statistic speaks to itself as whether this is/was a Epidemic or not.

Cool -- Bergisch Gladbach near Bonn/Cologne area. I have older plates (without the built-in blue stripe and D-schild) from Landshut (LA code( that adorned my Golf when I moved to Germany, until it was totaled on the Autobahn (not my fault -- 64 car pileup in the fog-- I had just gotten on a mile or two before). Interesting tidbit is that if there are both a city and a Kreis (like a county or region but not as large as many US counties) for auto registrations for that city/location code, your plate would be from the Kreis (county) and not the city, as the city tend to be no more than 3 numeric digits plus the letters. Not hard and fast but the city gets the shorter numbers compare to the surrounding areas. At least it used to be that way.

Please note that you're quoting falsefied deffinitions of epidemic and pandemic. After the outbreak of Ebola more than 10 years ago, WHO deliberatelly changed those deffinitions to include word "infections" as automatic qualification to declare an epidemic. Or how about declaring people sick and yet having no simptoms-which is just plain stupidity.

Good night, Everybody!
For those keeping score, I will watch some TV first and then head off to bed to watch Adam-12 until I fall asleep. I live such an exciting life. My youth now seems like something that happened in a movie.
Free on Apple TV!

I just checked with my niece She's a CNS nurse (Clinical Nurse Specialist) and a couple others I'm not sure of Quoted Smudges post to her and she totally agrees with it No falsified anything So if anyone is quoting false statements you are
Also some people are asymptomatic meaning they have whatever disease but show no systems and can still spread the disease to others

I checked both Merriam-Webster and the Oxford English dictionaries for the definition's.

As far as I'm aware, W.H.O. don't determine the definitions of the English language.
