Beverage of Celebration is a Marocchino (Alba Style)

Seems that the word Marocchino in Italian is "Moroccan" and used for the dark brown Morrocan leather color. And for a chocolately color. The Italians, being the chief purveyors of all things espresso discovered what we in the English world call a Mocha Latte (or any variation of chocolate in espresso.

But, if you go to the city of Alba, an enterprising salesman back around WWII needed to sell more of his firm's product. He came up with using Nutella instead of cocoa in the Marocchino.

So I spent some coffee beans dialing in my espresso maker, and added a spoonful of Nutella, and a shot of caramel syrup, because that's just the way I roll. ;)

I also found this meme appropriate:

The Dragon of Demanding Donuts was an especially tough opponent, as was the pixie of power outage, but I prevailed.

Now to go in and fix all of my typos.
So how many word or pages go into making a normal paperback book?

You can't be too careful anymore. Putting an ad in the internet invites any old crook to talk to you and eventually come to your house. Of they want to meet you someplace remote they may just take what you have and your vehicle and leave you on the side of the road dead or alive. Good to have a few people around when you meet people for something like this.
I usually will only meet in a public, well-lighted, busy location for those reasons. Legit buyers and sellers understand this, and will want to do the same. A MacDonalds, Walmart, or high-volume gas station are usually good choices, as they have a lot of people, and surveillance cameras everywhere.

We found out I have some additions to our family.

New son-in-law as of 5/25 and another grandson arriving in January!

My youngest daughter got married in the Harford co., Maryland court house on May 25th. She was hesitant to tell me for fear of how I would react. Im not "psycho big Lou" any more, he has been MIA since I was 22. Except for a few rare unconfirmed sightings. My kids never knew him.
I don't have to live with the guy. If she is happy, I'm happy. If she loves him, I will too.
I know he can't hurt her physically, she knocked him flat on his back once before. I have no doubt she can do it again. She learned from daddy, go for the nose and try to punch through the head. 😁
I only wish my girls would carry a roll of dimes as I recommend. I keep a roll of quarters in my cars, but my girls have little hands.

Now all three of our are children are married and financially set, thank God!

This old street rat must have done something right! Only by the Grace and forgiveness of God. That was why I loved the name of my first daughter, Grace. I needed the Grace of God in my life.
Well done Bruette ! Great achievements !

Hello all! 84 and breezy heading for 88. Nice to have the weekend off after a really busy, but fun week at work. I enjoyed the week and learned a lot too but I'm tired.
Hoping tomorrow we will see our 4th grandchild for the first time in about 9 or 10 years. After my step-son split with his ex, she hasn't let any of us see their daughter so much as once. I had honestly given up on ever seeing her again but my wife has maintained contact with her mother over the years to some degree. They live over on the other side of the state so it'll be a long drive wherever we meet, but hoping to finally see her again. She probably won't really know us at all since she was only about 3 the last time we saw her. Hoping to build that relationship back but it's all at the whim of her mother whether or not that will happen.
No other plans this weekend as far as I know. Going to try to get most, if not all of my school work done for the week today. Not sure if I'll get it all done, but hoping to hit half or a little more at least.
Hope you all have a great day!

Afternoon All,

Haven't accomplished much today except doing some detail work around the mine. It's pretty much complete except for the supervisors building (waiting on the wall). Yesterday I did order a bunch of signage from Tichy. I was rather surprised that they now have Pennsy whistle and bell sign posts. Before I had to get kits from Mount Vernon Shops and then build each sign then apply decals with either W or R. This is way easier.

Todd- You're right. That is very frustrating.

Smudge- Sounds like you are doing a lot of consolidating and thinning out.

Mikey- Nice job on the out buildings.

Louis- Nice photo of Tucker. Congrats on the upcoming new addition to the family.

Tom- Hope you had fun at the picnic.

Willie- Nice layout shots.

Ken (IL)- That's a very tough situation you're in.

Guy- Nice photos.

I hope Everyone has a good night.

So how many word or pages go into making a normal paperback book?
My books are about 55,k to 60k words. In a 6in X 9in paperback with a larger font size (not large print, but not that teeeeeeeny little font to cut costs) runs about 230-250ish pages.

I'm not sure what genres you read. Here's what the google machine says some popular novels were in their word counts:

A Clockwork Orange was approximately 59,000 words long, while Ian Fleming's debut Bond novel, Casino Royale, came in at 44k. Try these others for size: The Big Sleep (55k), The Spy Who Came in From the Cold (61k), The Great Gatsby (48k), Fight Club (49k), The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (47k)

Sheesh.
After two and a half months from my wife passing, I decided to list her powered recliner and mobility scooter on Fecesbook and the list of craig.
In the first 30 minutes, I got 12 responses. Every one of them wanting me to read back a code to them, "to prove I'm not a scammer". All that proved is they were scammers. Reading that code back to them gives them control over my phone number, and locks me out of it.
Rather than do that, I guess I'll just take both of those items and park them by the road, and let the junk man have them.
Salvation Army would take them and then you can get credit for taxes

Afternoon all,

Got the groceries and general errands now run. I did get an opportunity to get to the train store. Got some better sized ballast for a decent price. Turns out the owner started the business as something to do when he retires to stay out of the wife's way. He owns another business installing fireplaces during the week. Turns out he's been open for 3 years. He said he's not really online, but I know he's cheaper than Hobby Lobby in Wichita (the only other place that really sells train supplies).

Hopefully train time tomorrow as I have some ballast to remove. At least I can start that stretch from scratch a lot easier if it is necessary.

We take stuff to the local Veterans of Foreign Wars club. Well, used to as they have to much stuff and nowhere to put it. Libby is made up of retirees, either x-mil or not and are in and out of the V all of the time. They won't take anything battery powered as it is a liability. Don't know about your neck of the woods but you may give that a try. Know that someone has a use. Legion, Eagles, DAV and others if available could help too.

Sometimes I cause road rage in the store standing studying the ingredients and carb contents when other just want to grab and go, I try not to block but wherever you stand will inevitably irritate someon, I’m not a road rage type of person I jusr flick the finger/s and carry on driving, a long time ago a bloke cut me off got out determined to start a row, now when I get excited annoyed my voice apparently gets squeaky and LOUD, I am pretty sure my husband had said it is a kin to scratching nails on a blackboard, anyway this mouthy guy, clearly was not going to punch me, and his ears could not take my high pitched annoyed voice,he retreated at speed lol, I have a light voice at the best of times, lol, sultry sexy …not.
Result I usually win arguments as opponents want to get the f out of squeak 🐁 squeak 🐭 range.
Be afraid…very afraid….Hey most of you can be grateful I am the other side of the pond, and too lazy to do a soundtrack then upload as I slowly reach high octaves - to be fair I can’t just do it - it takes an argument for me to slowly reach ear splitting mode :D
Thankfully never met anyone willing to punch my lights out, to shut me up.Grind…Evily.
Unfortunately my husband has pointed out normal talking is normal, but singing can be 🤨 questionable.

Good Afternoon all!
92F in Libby and clear
99F in Olive Branch and clear.

Welp, got back from Ruther Glenn last night and decided to throw caution to the winds. Went and had steak at the Longhorn along with a few beers. Told us we could spend the night parked out back as we did not want to drive.
No rental cars ...again... so off we went to uhaul and got a pickm-up truck. Had 20K on it and was a great runner. Cost $91 total. Now the plan was to see some of the stuff in Memphis.
Graceland 1st - If you are not an Elvis fan - don't bother as you won't like the prices:

We were there about 10A and it was hot already. We did not see any way we could just go out on the grounds and walk around. Had to go through those gates! I guess that if you are a die-hard fan it would be worth it to ya. We did spend about $200 in the gift shop though. 4 or 5 shirts, couple of trinkets and two shot glasses for the daughter. Oh, and I got a 'best hits' CD as I do like *some* of his stuff.

Next was the Metal Museum. This is a neat place, bought a couple of trinkets; here is a sprinkling of pix:

They have a full 'lost wax casting' building with workshop. They were to pour aluminum later than we wanted to stay so maybe a pix or to will give ya a thrill:

And finally - found a train store a few months back and got to it today. Mid-South Hobbies, 4862 Summer Ave, Memphis. Good sized store, more O scale than others although they had a lot of HO - both NiB and others. Ya, spent money. What I got pix here. Store and Inside the box pix in RPO.

Paid $400 for the top three, $99 for the E6.

Oh, I will be danged if there isn't a Texas Roadhouse across the parking lot where we settled down. Back to Luther Glenn tomorra.

Later!

Palm strike. Aim for the chin, and you will make good contact no matter if he ducks or pulls away. Then, quick strick to the side of the base of the neck with the blade of your hand. That will knock him out 90+% of the time.
Not tall enough,or strong enough, however one too many men,not gentlemen, who could not keep their hands to themselves have received a knee jerk to their nether regions, also once accidentally did it to a boyfriend who I was not expecting to creep up on me, it was weird seeing my 6 foot plus cry like a baby, tears pouring down his face, after we split up I looked back on that moment with great affection….
High stilettos also a favourite, step back on their instep and lift other foot ensuring full weight on their foot, I seriously object to having my behind man handled without my permission.
My husband taught me a couple of evil moves in the event I ever needed to defend myself, luckily never needed to try them out, one suggestion of his was keys between fingers, fist and go for the eyes, and in the event of a grab from behind waste no time trying to escape per say, but to put my mouth near any object, nose, face, ear, hand and bite really hard. I am glad never needed that one, the thought of someone’s ear or nose detached from they attackers face but in my mouth makes me slightly queasy, however had it ever occurred I would have given it a go.
