The glue has dried on the latest outhouse for the club 0n30 layout. There are now 5 outhouses and two tool sheds to add to the layout in the area of the mill houses we have built.
Here are the newest structures.View attachment 148746View attachment 148747
MIKEY --Love the outhouses - and I do know that they are HO, but would be nice to have a short piece of a ruler for size comparison?

I usually will only meet in a public, well-lighted, busy location for those reasons. Legit buyers and sellers understand this, and will want to do the same. A MacDonalds, Walmart, or high-volume gas station are usually good choices, as they have a lot of people, and surveillance cameras everywhere.
I still like meeting at home where I have my German Shepherd and my 12 gauge pump for company. I live in an older RV park which has been converted to a nice park model park with lots of people around during the winter months. That's the best time for selling on-line and meeting people at home. In the summer without all the people around I usually do mail order stuff that can be sent by mail or UPS.

Willie, great idea for shading the pool.
Mission accomplished.

We actually ordered two, the other one is a bit different. I will move this one next week a little to either the left or right, after I see the base that the other one has.

Thank you. Sadly what I expected already happened. My wife started trying to make plans with the "mother" for the visit when the "mother" decided it was going to be a paid visit, as in we better bring cash to make the visit happen. We're not going to do that so the visit is off now. Not that down about it because I already expected she'd pull something to keep us from coming. Hard to believe this person works for family services yet has no ability to see the harm she's doing.
Forgive me, at first I missed these posts. I clicked like with out reading. Something I'm often guilty of. When I'm busy, as I usually am, thank God, I quickly skim through the posts. Mostly looking at the pictures to be perfectly honest.

I find this to be very sad. I can only imagine how terrible this must be for you, your wife and your granddaughter.

Grandchildren are gifts from God. They are assets to the children. Knowledge, wisdom, experience and a few dollars are only some of the things grandparents can provide. In addition to the most import thing, unconditional love. Depriving children of their grandparents should be a crime.

I hope and pray this woman comes to her senses.

Afternoon All,

No train time today. Had chores and shopping to do. Yesterday my grandson wrecked the front end of my truck. He's OK. This is 6 months after wrecking the front of my wife's car. The only reason he has been using our cars is that daughter can't afford a vehicle for him. He has just started college (local) and a job at Universal. My truck is 15 years old and I'm afraid it's going to be totaled (we can't afford another car either). It's driveable and going to the shop tomorrow to be evaluated by the adjuster. We'll see what happens.

Todd- Neat photos and very nice haul.

Dave- It runs into the $40's here. Love the side yard. I use Walthers kt boxes for the same thing.

Mikey- Nice repair.

Jeff- Great looking structure. I like the cornice top on the office.

Joe- Nice photo. I think the second loco is the most interesting.

Louis- I'm sure Sophie is a cutie but the picture is really dark.

Willie- Nice scenes and details.

Guy- It's called a flying hummingbird! 😂 Sorry, couldn't resist. Nice train photos.

I hope everyone has a good night.

Scam calls are easy enough. Answer, listen briefly, hang up and block the number. The only problem is the number of times a day this happens.
Dave: Call Pete Alonzo, of the Mets. He is "pitching" them...he also is good at entering locked cars. ;)
Louis- That's why anytime I get a phone call that does not come up as one of my contacts, I let it go to voicemail. If they don't leave a voicemail, block & delete. Speaking of phones, I got a new one last week. I was having issues with my old phone. I was having sound issues with it, both incoming & outgoing. VZW gave me 50% off on an upgrade, so I now have the iPhone 12. SWMBO is still working with her iPhone 6 that she got back in 2014.
Joe- Must be a Tri-State area ad. I haven't seen him up here.

Good Morning!
It's gonna be a nice day, even if the the forecasters are calling for rain. Looking out the window, it just looks like it's gonna be a nice day. So, I think the weather people are wrong; again!
Guy- it's like the old saying goes, "A ballplayer can fail 7 out of every 10 trips to the plate & still make it to Cooperstown(unless he breaks the cardinal rule about gambling)". I look at weather forecasts this way: they're just guessing. Yes, it's educated guessing(with various computer models & whatnot), but it's guesswork yet.

It's been a rainy weekend here in Ohio. My fever is pretty much gone, and I felt good enough to make progress on scratch building some dock loading cranes for my riverfront scene.

I have a lot of spare parts that were part of lots I bought at auctions over the past couple years, and cobbled these cranes together.

I need to paint and weather. Not sure I like the cabin. I'm going to mount these at the edge of the piers.

Well, howdy there MRR peeps, and those who might have used an outhouse on occasion.

It's Troy again.

Generic update of various bits

Tomorrow (Mon) is the 35th anniversary. Wife if too swamped with work, gas to is spendy, and she's not making me go on vacation anywhere special. Plans are to walk over to a new-to-us joint that opened right outside our neighborhood. Family-owned restaurant and lounge. The local gathering and gossip pricier place.

OK. As long as I don't have to drive five hours to get there.

Rain has moved in, so, we have no idea when the residing of our 10-unit building will begin. Might be this week, probably not.

got a new trash bin (one of those big covered ones) slightly larger than the old one that was cracked all the way up the front except for the last two inches on top.

Daughter (29) picked up c-19 AGAIN... poor thing gets a nasty case with each wave, despite having it prior and getting vaxxed. She's always getting whatever respiratory thing is going around, so this doesn't surprise us. She knows to watch for signs of pneumonia.

Of course, this hit her five days after the big family outdoor birthday party. So far, she's the only one with it, so she probably picked it up elsewhere. Current version incubation time seems to be 2-3 days, not the week-10days of the earlier versions.

The book goes to the editor tonight. I'm waiting on my two Alpha Readers to send their thoughts back and see if I have any emergency rewrites.

Morning folks.

2.30am, need to get up in another two hours to go to work, exciting day taking no one to college and back again, might get caught up on some sleep, as it's eluding me tonight, just can't seem to get comfortable, getting phantom pain in what's left of my leg, is not helping either, dosed up on as many pain killers as I dare, nope not working.

Might as well watch the box in the corner for a while.

To heck with the coffee, MEL - I need a stiff drink of Bourbon!
The Spousal Unit HATES her I-11- wishes she had kept the I-8 she had. I have an
A-10e and I hate it, but it was free - and I really only use a hand phone if I have an emergency or need to "map" an address. Fingers do not want to hit the correct keys on text messages and I am very slow.

Finally got the #2 daughter, kids and Gunny back to the A/P SAN for the return to Okinawa. Kate took them to the airport as was not enough room in car for all the "stuff" plus 6 of us. That's OK - I had the pleasure of cleaning up the disassembled house from the kids who seemed to never be still plus #3 daughter Ali came over a lot with her 17 month old who has learned to pull everything off the table ... I just realized I have been around kids for 61 years -- I need a break!

Glad to see that most everyone is still here plus a couple new folks.
LOUIS - Sorry about your friend. more later, if I can remember?
OBKEN I feel for you, but I went 18 years of not seeing my own two daughters - after 6 years and 25K worth of attorney fees and a dozen court appearances - I just gave up. You said you have other grandkids - my advice is to concentrate on them and let the other go. Tough to do, but you will get nowhere with that situation.

KURT - You flashed my mind back to my daughter crashing the Pacifica and them a while after that - me crashing the Dakota - Bummer, Man!

Lots more to comment on, but will have to wait!

Phone, I hate mine. I let SWMBO talk me out of my Samsung and into an I phone 13.
Similar thing happened to my good friend Patrick from Philadelphia. His wife upgraded her I phone. He got her old I phone to replace his even older Samsung. After almost a year he still hates the I phone.

I have not used anything Apple since the Apple IIe.

Smarter people than me have struggled with the switch to Apple. I'll stick with Samsung.

In Hungary they built a statue of Steve Jobs. Yes he did bring jobs to Hungary, to the exploit low wages. Lets celebrate his even bigger profits!

Does Apple still have the largest cash reserve of any company in history?

I'm thinking over priced!

While not based in current fact, my perception of Apple is, twice the price for half the power.
