Good morning gang!

11° on clear skies this morning, looking for a high today of 35°. The weather is actually going to be a little warmer tomorrow at about 45° and then for Friday it begins to snow Saturday snow Sunday snow Monday occasional snow. Looks like all totaled. They’re calling for about 16 inches of the white fluffy stuff. The 10-year-old in me is happy the 64-year-old is quite pissed. On the positive side, I can hibernate in the basement between chasing the plow down the driveway.

BBL after one of Bill‘s donuts put me in a sugar coma!

Good morning all!

Happy hump Day!

A warmer morning then the last few. Currently 28F with snow falling. It doesnt appear that there will be much accumulation.
High is expected to be around 30F.

Another basketball game away tonight. Last one this week thankfully.

Pretty quiet around here with not much going on.

Have a safe day everyone!

Got a question from someone. When were the prototypes of these cars produced and until when if they are no longer used?

Good morning folks. 35°F already and heading for the 40s today. Grocery shopping finished and arriving between 0800-1000 this morning. I cannot believe the cost of groceries. What I bought I would have paid about $135 in 2020. Now twice that.

Space heater was much better last night set at 70°F. It never shuts off though; I'll have to check the instructions to see if it is supposed to cycle the fan along with the heating elements.

Running trains later today. Have a good Wednesday!

Servus!

Well, howdy there internet peeps and those with weather.

It's Troy Again

Sciatica is flaring again. Ramping up use of the Teeter table, and doing my nerve flossing stretches. But, I did have to break out the biofreeze tube.

Not much going on here. It's laundry day... again!

Went to bed last night. Finished a chapter in the book on Antietam. Covered some of the action of the Iron Brigade and 19th Indiana in the Cornfield.

Last night, laying in bed, I realized I hadn't filed my annual sales tax report. I only have to pay on what I sell direct (print books, and online via shopify). Fortunately, I realized that Shopify is a money sink, and abandoned it. The replacement I found, Fourthwall, acts as the merchant of record, and collects and pays sales tax. I earn commision on the stuff on my storefront. So... my sales tax liability was only on less than $300 in sales, and none of that was in Indiana. I owed Zero!

And now the online form was filed, and I'm legit again.

Working on getting some more miniatures assembled for the abyssal ghostbusters army. These ones fling mini fireballs, so I'm trying to load up some campfire STLs to print on the resin printer. But my slicing software keeps locking up. I'm going to have to check for a fresh update, or go to another program that does the same job.

Nothing new to report other than that.

Similar cars were used in the pacific northwest at least through the late 1980s, and probably later. My phone has decided I’m in Italy today, and locations and languages are—off—because of it. So, my info above is from memory, and not from anything meaningful I get from a Google search…

Good morning from a snow globe called So Central Wisconsin. Yes it snowed last night, overnight and it’s still coming down. But it’s a pretty fluttery snow fall where the flakes are big enough to go out and play in. It was supposed to end by 6am but that was 1.25 hours ago, so who knows? The plow trucks have cleared the streets and that usually means the end is near. This accumulation will need the snowblower though to be removed and that I am just so thrilled about. It is 15f degrees, feels like 15 and heading to 26, a nice day.

The super cold returns tomorrow into Tuesday, the Polar helix is coming with temps in the -teens and -20’ with wind chills about -40 to -50. But these are the guesses by a NWS that seems to be really off their game the last 4-5 months.

The sister in law saga is not settled even though the 2 nieces that were here Monday evening promised it would be. They told Terry at 9pm yesterday they will go see their mother Saturday weather permitting. Terry was very upfront, the deal is there and can be signed whenever but she doesn’t need to be contacted until it is signed. Her way or no way. Then she cried for an hour. If you ever what to feel hopeless watch your wife cry over a stupid sibling she’s willing to help.

Depending on when I go out to clear the snow, we will do breakfast/lunch out today instead of the normal Thursday. It will be too cold tomorrow.

My 2 model railroad closest friends both headed to Hawaii this morning. Different islands but until Saturday didn’t know they were both leaving today. I will check the houses daily but both use snow removal services so I don’t need to worry about that. One is gone for 10 days the other 17 but then another week in Phoenix. There are 2 garage door openers now on my car sun visor along with my own built in one. It looks so cool…

I have a few boxcars faded that need to be weathered. They are due to ship the end of the month but I will try to finish them by Monday.

The son and his girlfriend are back in Toyko today and start to head home to Texas on Friday. They say they r having a great time and in the pictures it looks like it. They are heading to Hawaii and will stay on Maui at my brothers for 3 nights and be home in Austin on Tuesday.

The daughter told Terry last night the 2 Saturday and the 2 Sunday hockey games are cancelled already due to the super cold coming. They were told the team will practice during one of the cancelled game times each day! The parents as a group said no to the practices during those times, the teams need the break. The daughter wanted to know if we wanted to join them at one of the water parks in the Wisconsin Dells on Friday and Saturday night. Some break!

Enjoy the day

Good Morning All. Cloudy and 50°. Nothing changing in our forecast except temperatures this weekend might be lower than predicted yesterday, and the snowfall amount has been reduced. I still don't like single digit temperatures! Mother Nature is making up for the mild winter that we have been experiencing. I shouldn't complain after reading what you Mid-westerner's are posting.

Trip to town yesterday was more successful than Monday's. Pharmacy had finally gotten the doctor's refill OK and I picked that up. Went to the PO and mailed a bunch of coupler boxes off to a fellow forum member and picked up my package from Chet. Stopped at Dollar General for stuff and picked up a battery post connector from O'Reilly's. Old one is loose and I am finally getting around to replacing it instead of having the bent penny in there! The Accura all of a sudden doesn't start although the battery shows a full charge and all of the electronics work. Neighbor Bubba thinks that a rodent may have attacked the wiring.
Felt a little light-headed earlier this morning. BP read 95/45, so I drank some water and laid back down again. It's now 118/58. Might have been a bit of dehydration.

While we're still planning on the weekly grocery trek tomorrow, my wife expressed concern that the winter storm fanatics might be out in force. I think that they will wait until Friday instead, besides we go early in the day.

Out in the train shed yesterday, mostly I unpacked my box of goodies that Chet had sent me. Primarily he sent me an additional memory walk-around throttle like the one that I already own. It will offer me some additional flexibility and back up when operating. And he also stuffed the box with vehicles that I had requested, along with a handful of miscellaneous detail parts.

The bag of tractors didn't survive too well, but all of the parts are there and I see no issue repairing them.

If any of you were hoping to get some of the remaining ones, better hurry before I (and others) get some more.

Bob - Great looking detail parts. Must be nice to have a coworker like that.
Mikey - That's a lot more figures than I have on standby. I do have over 1200 on the layout though.
John/Chad/Michael - You guys are probably correct that the green car is a Porsche instead of a Carmen Ghia. I got that particular model from a fellow forum member, loose in a Ziploc, so I didn't really know.
Tom O - Sorry to read that the family drama continues.

Everyone have a great Wednesday. Stay warm and shut the weather door before it reaches here.

Morning all,

24 degrees and clear, going for 45 later. On the Kindle so the degree symbol is non existent.

Home sick today as the cough and congestion have me down.

Under a Winter Storm watch Friday through Saturday night. Willie Is under the same. The weather models showing a possibility of anywhere of 5 to 13 inches of snow by Saturday night. Temps in the single digits.

It may have had help failing. Due to recycling regulation the auto makers have transitioned from oil based wire insulation and tubing to a soy based product which is also digestible by "critters". 9 times out of 10, an evap leak is caused by a "critter" chewing a tube or other parts like a wire or a valve. Sometimes they only make a pin hole and the best way to find it is a smoke machine. The only evap failures I otherwise see is purge valves or solenoids, usually caused by the driver. Yeah you may think it's good to squeeze the trigger til the pump is on an even dollar amount, but you are killing your evap system by doing so, and saturating the system with raw fuel. That system is designed to only handle vapors, not liquid fuel!
I have a soy based insulation story.....
One of my Waste Management facilities was having issues with rats eating the cables attached to their truck cameras. I knew it was an SBI issue and WM researched it and told me I was correct. The plan I gave them to help control (you ain't gonna eliminate it at a garbage facility) the problem was placing bait stations every 10' around the truck parking area and one in front of every concrete parking bumper. After about a month it greatly reduced the activity and was a great bump in that facilities monthly service cost. ;)

edit - The only bait that would work was First Strike. It has 15 different food flavors/attractants. There's too much competition from "other" food sources. It only takes one feeding to be lethal also.

I hope you feel better. The Talking Head's can't decide how much, if any snow we will receive. A winter storm watch has been issued for two counties one county south of here and running roughly east/west of there.

I'm counting on this low moving farther north. Confidence is high that we will get at least 2-3" here, but there is still three more days of uncertainty. If it moves only another 50 miles north by the time it starts, we could see up to 6"+. 100 miles, 10"+.

Bread and milk advisories have been issued, liquor store warnings farther south!🍻
