M wife said" I do" to taking me for better or worse 59 years ago today.
We are financially a little better off, but we are worse off physically as neither of us have all our original equipment. So far, the replacement parts have kept us puttering along.
No fancy plans for today, just dinner at our favorite Irish pub.
Happy Anniversary! Have a good time at dinner!

Good morning. It was 0C at 0800 but the sun is shining and the sensor is showing 7C an hour later. I have another sensor in the shed and it is showing 1C.

Just checked my solar charger for the battery in the shed and it is doing its job at not charging the battery below the 2C that I have it set at. Not supposed to charge LIFEPO4 batteries at low temps. Hope it warms up soon to take advantage of the sunlight.

Am watching the two new videos that RHB put up and noticed that the beer level went up as time went on... 🥳

The most I can find about these RHB flat cars is that they were called rungenwagen r-w and were built in 1993 to haul logs as they were building the Vereina tunnel. Then at some point in time, either 1997 or 2004, they were used for containers. No info about these except from model shop websites.

Thanks, but this guy is asking about the ones that the RHB runs in Europe. I guess he's trying to figure out what era they were in.
I’ll admit to not having clicked the link and it’s not obvious they are RhB wagons until you click the link. Blowing up the photo doesn’t expose the markings enough.

I’d expect they probably are still in service there but I have no clue.

I clicked the KATO link and hit the browser translate button but it didn’t provide many details.

One interesting thing is that the RhB is a narrow gauge railway. I have a KATO set of RhB flat cars with containers. If I can find them in my stuff I’ll see if they’re the same.

hello all from the chaos called airport ZRH

- just to let you all know, orange has landed.
- airforce one and two are both here. 7 whitehaws and blackhawks took of and also a car torso. so hes somewhere on the way to davos.
the airport was "shutdown" for about 20mins, now back to normal :D

wish you all a great day.
cheers

One interesting thing I heard from Petter on Mentour Now is that the VC-25A (747) the President was on had to turn around due to an electrical fault. They ended up taking the 757 based plane used by the VP usually but I suspect the second VC-25A (there are two) was also sent so he can ride it home.

This just popped on FB, thought i'd share it😆, enjoy
With that level of weathering the price probably isn't too far off.

I have seen well done weathered freight cars on eBay and HOswap go for a pretty good chuck of change!

I bought a new 2026 Honda CR-V today with the leather, heated seats etc. package that added $4,000.00 to the price. I arrived at the dealer at 9am and finished the deal at 5pm. It took all day. Too dark to take a photo now but it looks like the image below. Swal

Beautiful looking car!

I assume it has a heated steering wheel as well?

our last 2 cars had heated steering wheel and heated leather seats. Those 2 items are a must and worth every penny!

They look like V or VI to me. I recognized the single buffer. And yes, RhB is all meter gauge. The models run on TT scale track or 12mm.
Those ones in his pic are N scale and are 1:150 like Japanese N and run on 9mm N gauge track.

Japan's rail system is mostly* cape gauge or 1067mm, just slightly larger than meter gauge. Because of that the Japanese use 1:150 for non Shinkansen bullet train models and 1:160 for bullet trains. All run on normal 9mm N track.

* some private railways like Hankyu and many others are standard gauge, but the JR train system, with one or two minor exceptions, is all cape gauge except the separate Shinkansen network which is standard gauge. The JR rail system is the current version of the previous Japan National Railways (JNR), which was privatized in the late 1980s into multiple JR (Japan Rail) companies, and they run most of the train networks. Though there are extensive smaller private rail networks in major and some minor cities or metro areas. And it is these smaller private ones that sometimes run on standard gauge

The wife drives our VW Jetta and the other day was sitting in the back seat for probably the first time and she said she didn't know the back seats were heated as well. The front seats are and the steering wheel is and it's quite nice. My Audi has heated seats and I think steering wheel but I never use it because it sucks the battery (its a plug in hybrid) and I'm all about cheap miles and so want the. battery for forward motion. I do like driving the Jetta when we go as a family somewhere as I can turn on the heated seats and steering wheel. It also has the cooled seats and I think steering wheel as well.
