I suspect it is the server; your speed is 10+ times faster than needed to watch any stream. At $39.99/month, a great deal by the way! I pay $30/month for up to 200MB. Even at that speed I seldom ever have any streaming issues.

You are on your own my friend. I would stand with you against anything else. A strong mined lady with her mind made up... count me out.
Remember this Mantra, "a Network is a Group of Bottlenecks, looking for a place to happen." A network will run as fast as your slowest component. If you run wireless, you will get about 36MB throughput, even if you have fiber to your door.

Good morning all!

Currently 24F with an expected high of 32F with mostly cloudy skies with a few peeks of the sun.

Travel volleyball starts today with the first tournament. Its about an hour and a half away. I like this club a little
more as the one she was in last year was Sat/Sun tournaments. These are just Sunday tournaments but we have
to cram 5 games into that, so long day.

Nothing else planned for the day.

Have a safe day everyone!

It took a little while to catch up from my last visit here yesterday.
I had a pause that refreshes and could not go back to sleep. My mind kept working on the color combinations to paint the last group of 48 unpainted figures I have.
I spent about 2 hours painting until my eyes could not provide depth perception to put paint on a figure where it needed to go. I am about 80% done, but have 7 figures to touch up.
Maybe I can finish up this afternoon and let them dry overnight before applying a protective coat of Mop and Glo.

Yawn, gonna try for a short nap.

Good Morning All. Clear and 38°, a bit warmer than the projected low of near freezing. But headed back into the 60's later today with mid-70's the rest of the week. NWS is still holding on to that rain overnight Wednesday. If it happens, it will be the first one since mid-October. The left coast has been hogging all of the rain since then.

Nothing special yesterday, dishwasher, burn trash, and some more firewood cutting. Made turkey pot pie for supper with leftovers last night. Still have some in the freezer for future meals. Cold enough last night to start the first fire of the new year in the wood-burner. I'm already letting it go out. Don't anticipate another one until next Friday night.
An action packed day today starting with Mass this morning, then we'll see what happens after that.

Out in the train shed yesterday, I only ran trains. Rather I moved 9 of 10 trains back into the staging yard after the track cleaning. Rearranged some cars for variety. Now to move on to the next part. After I clean the next 60' or so of main line/passing siding and all of the industry trackage, maybe another 75' more, I can start on the structures. This section of the layout has not had a deep cleaning since before the tornado ripped the roof off the train shed in 2024 and there is still some damaged scenery to fix. There will be ~30 structures to clean and add details to. Maybe touch up some paint here and there. I'll also swap a few vehicles around to give it a fresh look.

Mike - I'm ready for that first train-related purchase for this new year. Got a gift certificate for Christmas and a bank account full of RMD's from last week. I don't need any rolling stock, engines, figures or structures, but I sure can use additional vehicles. Need to restock a few paint colors and I need to check the scenery supplies.
Have a safe trip to volleyball today.
Kevin - Prayers for your wife's recovery.
Karl - Magnetic tool holder or not, you'll still have to chase down those tools when you need them.
Tom O - Wives are stubborn about some things. In our house/car, it's thermostats! Putting the car A/C on 62° doesn't cool it down any quicker.

Only one birthday of note today, mine! It's #74 for me.

Everybody have a great Sunday.

Good morning Crew. It is 12f degrees and no wind chill. Supposedly we will crack 30 this afternoon but again it will be without help from the sun. Overcast all day.

The non-believer last night said nothing as we watched 2 games from Houghton, Mi. again on LiveBarn a streaming app for ice arenas. Image a different rink from Friday night and Saturday mornings games NOT buffering. So it’s not an internal issue but maybe the providing rink? It did take the son though to get her to understand

The wireless router for the whole house is located centrally in the lower level. 8 locations speed-tested yesterday and the lowest speed was in the guest suite in the lower level and it was at 540 down and 121 up. Still quite fast. I removed the mesh system in 2024 as it was slowing everything down

The grandson team had a 6-6 tie Saturday morning in Calumet with the buffering on the stream. In Houghton 2 games each ending in 3-3 ties.Today they are in Marquette, Michigan for noon and 3pm games.

Packers play at noon as does the grandson. So the Picture in Picture function very rarely used will be in action. I also image she will be down in the theater watching because my monitor is bigger than hers and it’s easier to use PIP because of the size. I know though as soon as the grandson’s game is over she will head back for the Packers on her monitor. I think this will be the 3rd use of PIP of the NFL season

Maybe Christmas inside will come down today? Usually it’s the 1st weekend after the 1/1 of the new year. No mention of doing it and today is Sunday.

The granddaughter is here for another day and night. The traveling hockey family should be here in time for dinner at 6pm on Monday.

I have 14 stripped down boxcars and 3 ladders were found in the stripping pool. I will locate where they go today. If I do anything in the spray booth in my train room is repair the booth fan. Sounds like a fighter jet spooling up for take off. So something is about to give up the ghost. I can take them to the daughter’s work shop and use my old booth there. I just don’t want to do that 2.5 mile trip, but maybe.

I gave Terry one of those electronic white board type calendars early Summer of 2024. She is very organized but she was still using a flip type monthly calendar and wrote in that. I’m just not used to adding to it. This thing we have access to from our mobile devices and her laptop. I was told yesterday after explaining I’m going to a work session Wednesday and need the car, that if it’s not on the calendar, it’s not happening! I’m still going but I started last night around 9:30 putting my stuff on the house calendar located by the message center in the kitchen. I added 9 OPS sessions till the end of March and 12 scheduled sessions plus made sure my medical and dental appointments and hair appointments are on there. You can view it as a daily, weekly, monthly or yearly thing. Yearly is worthless as it’s so cramped. But she’s happy and I have added my stuff finally

Enjoy your day

Morning ladies and gents

Have a blessed week

Today’s plans- Church, then painting the foamboard, then gluing it to table, the shopping for the edge barrier. Also need to diagnose and repair, if possible, two locomotives that came in a box of HO hodgepodge from fleaBay.

I have options. Maybe an old western on GritTV and a nap may be in order too!
