Hello all on the forum........

Well, the third day of the new year and another piece of $hit day. Nothing I have planned or worked on has gone according to plan.
I'll spare you all details but one of todays examples is I received an item from Amazon, only to find they sent the wrong item. I sent them a nasty note and they want me to return the item so they can send the correct item. I just re-ordered the item again as the total cost was right around $14.00. It will cost me more to ship the item back and pay for gas for a 36 mile round trip to my post office than just to order another item. Maybe they can get it right the second time around.......or not.

I am going to take a nap and watch TV for the balance of the weekend. I dare NOT venture into the train room and try to do anything at the rate things are going downhill. Maybe in a month or two or not......or not.

"life is like a bucket of crap with the handle on the inside"..........I'm sick and tired of it.

Take care......John

Good morning. 37F/3C at this time. Slept in to 0800 again, but it was a restless night. Like some of you, I don't like to wear too much clothes. I'd go topless during the summer time, but since the masses have moved south, well...

I was having to put on sweats and a sweatshirt to bed, but that would get all tangled up since I turn a lot. The sweatpants would end up by my knees and the sweatshirt would end up hiked up skewed, so I'd have to get up, get it all adjusted and try to go back to sleep. So, when I went up into the loft to put all my new acquisition train boxes away, I brought down one of my old mink blankets that I got from Korea. Pretty thick and heavy. It was warm, a bit too warm.

I know, nag nag nag haha

Whole Foods Market is owned by Amazon. They have return kiosks inside each store. Just log in to your order and follow the prompts for returning an item, then bring the QR code to be scanned.

Of course, this is useless information if you don't have a WFM near by.

You can schedule a USPS pickup when your regular mail comes. Go to the USPS and check the tabs at the top of the page. Under Send there should be 'Schedule a Pickup' selection. It's free.

Workbench upgrade today. It seems that good old St.Nick gifted me a trio of new Xuron pliers. Rail cutters, flush sprue cutters and needle-nose pliers. Now I can retire my old worn ones that I always had to chase around the workbench, usually finding the on the floor or somewhere around the layout. So wandering around HD today I happened upon a magnetic too holder. Now they all have an easy to reach home, right above my paint rack.

Speaking of paint old Santa gave me an electric paint stirrer that I used today. It works wonders on lumpy or settled paint. Rather than shaking til my arms fall off, I simply submerged it in paint and squeezed the trigger! The paint was ready to use and thoroughly mixed in no time! Once done I turned it off, transferred it to a waiting bottle of thinner and reactivated it to clean up. Easy peasy!

I always get on the chat with Amazon when something is screwed up. I had the website tell me that the item wasn't eligible for return. I get on the chat, argue with them and get them to send me a free replacement, correct item, or whatever. Most of the time, it's cheap stuff, but I did get a HO Kato D51 which was about $250 and it was defective. The site said it was beyond the time for return. The site went off of the order date and not the delivery date. Since this was a pre-order, the order date was at least 6 months prior. So I got on the chat, told them to fix their sh!t, got my return authorization and COD delivery number and got it in the mail back to them.

It’s not us, it’s the UP.
I suspect it is the server; your speed is 10+ times faster than needed to watch any stream. At $39.99/month, a great deal by the way! I pay $30/month for up to 200MB. Even at that speed I seldom ever have any streaming issues.
But she won’t listen, any volunteers to try
You are on your own my friend. I would stand with you against anything else. A strong mined lady with her mind made up... count me out.

Good morning, Everyone!

The 11th Day of Christmas, already!

If you want or need an excuse (I don't 🤪) to extend the season you can observe Candlemas. It is celebrated on February 2, exactly 40 days after Christmas. In older Christian practice, this feast marked the true closing of the Christmas cycle.

The name “Candlemas” comes from the ancient custom of blessing candles on this day.

I first learned of Candlemas from my Hungarian wife. Many Hungarians still observe Candlemas.

I'm sorry I haven't been around much. The antibiotic they gave me didn't seem to work. Now they are not sure what is wrong with me. They are testing me for all kinds of stuff! I could still have an infection that doesn't grow well in the laboratory. So, they gave me another stronger antibiotic to take for seven days.

No worries, the Lord is with me and also with all of you.

God Bless Us Everyone!

Good early morning.

I finally enlisted the help of the son. He explained anywhere in the house will have much higher speeds then needed to stream. Had her do 4 speedtests (I tried to ask her to look at my results) around the house but for the son she listens!

I NEED HELP

I don’t know how to sand properly!

Any recommendations on YouTube or articles?

Bold is struck sorry
