Good Morning All. Clear and a bit warmer today at 24°, going up to a scorching 50° later on. Daytime highs in the 50's for the next 10 days, but we'll still have a few mid-20's nights until the weekend.
Wife has a bad cold, so she's mainly watching the goings-on in DC on the TV, which now seems to be 24/7...at least in our house. I wonder if there is any other news right now, like where are those damn drones? The only other thing getting minor coverage seems to be the Gulf Coast blizzard.
I had my two lumberjacks over yesterday doing 4 hours of firewood cutting and tree limb cleanup. I bit the bullet and I will have hem back Friday so I can get a lot more done before the Winter Rye gets 2' tall and hinders the efforts.
Cardiologist visit yesterday was great in one respect, My BP there was 120/72, lowest it's ever been in their office. I didn't believe it so I asked the nurse to do it again and got the same result. Even at home, my first number has been a bit above average during the last 6 weeks or so. She told me to get the machine re-calibrated. All else seemed normal. No blood draw until next month with the PCP quarterly visit. Wife chose not to go since she's feeling badly, so I had to do her Walmart shopping for her. I went to Target instead since I avoid Walmart at all costs.
No train shed time yesterday, as I was dealing with the lumberjacks. From the train show Saturday, there was only one exhibition layout that was of interest to me, the HO scale modular layout from Spring Creek Model Railroad Club; not to be confused with the Spring Creek model retailer.
These were the only three shots that were not blurred.
Another layout that is always in a large room by itself was a G scale one that I have seen many times. Here are a couple of shots sof it.
Len - Good luck with the move. I hope that the weather cooperates. Too bad that you have to leave the Great State of Texas.
Hughie - You're so right about the "brown slush".
Joe -
I was thinking about my congressman, who was first elected in the Reagan Landslide of 1980,
But has he been effective?
Todd -
Lots of people around here are doing nothing but grinning.
That's pretty much the sentiment around here as well.
Terry -
saw me with my traveling pharmacy
The nurse practitioner that I see at the cardiologist office asked whether I brought my prescriptions in like she had asked me to do several times. I had to explain that I couldn't find an empty grocery sack to carry them in, so I brought a printout from a spreadsheet instead.
Mikey - We've only been married for 52 years, and I can't remember a lot of them. How about you and 59?
On the Rock & Roll front, today is vocalist Steve Perry's 76th birthday. He is most famously known as the voice in Journey. On a sad note, multi-instrumentalist Garth Hudson of The Band passed away yesterday at age 87. Guitarist John Sykes of Thin Lizzy and Whitesnake died from cancer Monday at age 65.
Everyone have a wonderful Wednesday.
