Very cold this morning!

Everyone is home today. All schools in the area called it about 3pm yesterday, so the scheduled volleyball game tonight has also been cancelled.. Wife decided not to head into the office, and go another day later this week.

Good morning, all! Well, it is snowing here and will continue for maybe another hour. No cars moving about, a few giggling voices from the street over from us. Since there are no hills, no sledding. It has always amazed me how clean and quiet it is when snow has covered everything. Then a few hours later the brown slush appears and all the noisy people and machines return us to life.

Good morning from NW Indiana. Still a little cold this morning. Tomorrow we drive @100 miles to have my hearing checked for the VA. I worked on F106's in Minot AFT for 4 years. I was on the "trim" crew and we adjusted the engines after they were removed for inspection. I was the one under the engine with a headset to the pilot and I adjust idle speed and full power; plus I was under there for afterburner light up also. The headset was not every insulated for sound deafening, so that I could hear the pilot. I can barely hear my wife say anything when the TV in on...there might be implied benefits to that; but I like to hear what she says, so hopefully I will qualify for earphones. Here is what our weather station looked like this morning:

We're a balmy -2 F degree here in The Fort of NE Indiana

I went out and started the car, let it run for about 5 minutes. Since our detached garage is a modified carport (now it has walls, a roof, and a garage door, but no insulation), it's COLD out there. At least it's out of the wind and precip. After 5 minutes in the car, my keys were frigid.

17F @ 67% overcast. Warmer than what the guessers say - that's a good thing.

Not much done in the Train Cave yesterday as the inauguration was pretty interesting; at least to us. We saw stuff that we do not remember ever seeing for any other President. Border is now really closed, no more lip service from DHS or the lot. Lots of people around here are doing nothing but grinning.

Headed for the Train Cave in an hour-ish after I fill the pellet stoves, and stuff the cook stove with some chunks.

Just had the local weather girl break into programing to give a WEATHER ALERT. Current temp is 21 degrees F where normal temp in Birmingham. Alabama is a low of 34 degrees with a high of 55 degrees for this date.
Then, my wife says, "Happy Anniversary".
Opps! I forgot today is our 59th anniversary.
She tells people we have never considered divorce in our marriage. Death and dismemberment a few times, but not divorce.
She also says she is going to keep me as I have no trade-in value.

Wow! 59 years! that's a long time. I'm not even that old. :D

59 years, that's my wife's age! ( She's younger than me!)
