Yay it's Friday! Mornin' y'all. Under mostly cloudy skies, here in Nacogdoches its 48 with w/c of 41 - High for today 58 low tonight 28 no precipitation in the forecast until next week. Expecting winter storm warnings here early next week with much colder temps and possibility of snow and/or ice.
Not much else going on here. Except for the furniture Daughter #1 is taking and a few more items to pack, we are ready for the move to Cheyenne. Nurse Judy, myself and Daughter #1 have lived in Texas all our lives. Daughter #2 has always been the adventurous one and ended up in Cheyenne a few years ago on a traveling nurse assignment. We've been there several times and I spent time in that part of the country when I was in the trucking business, so we're not complete strangers to the area. Although its a big city and capital of Wyoming it's actually about the same size as Tyler and relatively easy to get around. Be glad to get this move done.
That's about it from here. Enjoy your Friday and the weekend.

Got a question for you wire heads... 😜 or is that electron pushers?

So far in life I've managed to not electrocute myself (much), but I am good at letting the magic blue smoke out of stuff. I'd prefer not to do that again.

Below is a rough draft of the layout on the bench work's lower level. The green wiggly line is where I assume I'll be running the main power bus under the benchwork.

I've got an Aegis power supply that acts as a 5 amp booster for the NCE system (Power cab no longer a "power", all the juice is coming from the Aegis system from DCC Concepts.

Where should I mount it in the fascia, and connect to the main bus? I assume I can splice power into the bus at any point? My preference is at spot A. But the middle would be spot B. However, expansion will happen to the left, so A may eventually be center point.

Thoughts? Does it matter?

Good morning, all! A balmy 59 degrees, heading into the 60's. Partly sunny. Snow is now in the forecast for Tuesday evening into Wednesday morning. Predictions run from 1 inch to 2 inches. My plan is to stay home. The majority of drivers here have never driven in snow.
Tis the season, I guess. A train show is scheduled for Feb. in Pasadena, TX. I may try to go since I haven't been to a train show in a few years.

Swal - Thanks for RS-3 pulling a passenger train verification. I have a single RS-3 with 5 passenger cars in tow. I was curious has to whether they might put 2 locos or not. What would the speed of these trains be?

STAY SAFE

Troy: Are you dividing the track into power blocks?
Not this small. But the helix? the upper level? The Aegis has its own circuit breaker for faults.

Like I said, I'm big on letting blue smoke out, so help is appreciated.
Here's the power system I've got to go with my Power Cab.

With future expansion in mind, I would choose A.

Hughie most of the early morning trains headed for Grand Central had 2 RS3-S on the head end. The passenger RS3's had steam generators in the nose. You can see the steam rising in the 3rd photo I posted. The freight engines didn't have this feature. They were all replaced in 1970 with the FL9's coming over from the New Haven in Danbury CT just 12 miles away from Brewster NY. The problem for me was not only did the FL9's come over but so did the engineers with years more seniority than I pushing me down the engineers list. I would have to had 20 years there before I could bid a regular job and get off the engineers extra list. You have no life on the list. I left and it all worked out for me in the end.

It's 42 in southeast Baltimore. I went outside with thin work gloves on. I was outside for less than 30 minutes and my hands are cold! SOB my hands hurt!

@migalyto Mike, this is why I no longer grill in chilly weather. I passed all four of my grills and told them, see you in a few months.
Currently 40 F-degrees and sunny.

Just fired up the Kamado. Wife wants chicken
