Good Morning All. Cloudy and 62° here this morning.North winds coming around noon will clear things up, but it will get colder after dark.

Can't stay longer this morning, as I have an 8:00 appointment with the dermatologist for the skin review. Like everything else, it's a bit of a drive to get there and I have to pass through a school zone on the way. The drop-off moms sometimes are backed up on the two lane country road.

Be back later.
Everyone have a wonderful day.

Good morning gang!

38° and sunny, with temps later in the mid to upper 40s.

Gkids and the house hippo got picked up at 6 this morning, thank goodness. Don't get me wrong, I love them to the moon and back, but last night the little one, she had a 2 hour meltdown last night crying for her mommy. It stresses me when they are upset and there is nothing you can do about it.

Pizza. I'm not picky but I'm not a big fan of Marinara sauce. I've had pizza that has puddles of it, yech! I do like a "white" pizza, no marinara and either an Alfredo or garlic sauce. My go to at lunch is Dominoes Philly Cheesesteak pizza. Yum!

Morning all,

I wonder where or what I searched on my phone that has my ads as Ukrainian women that want to meet me...

So far our network outage continues but hopefully we'll be back up soon. Been a lot of busy days and I'll have my 40 hours in by noon today. Sunday was the first day of the pay week. Today should be a little slower as we are in a waiting pattern.

There was a local place in my birth town that had great pizza. I think they are on their 4th generation of ownership. Now that I live 1000 miles away and no longer have living relatives in the area, it's been probably 20 years since I last had one of their pies.

Try to be back later.

Patrick said, I wonder where or what I searched on my phone that has my ads as Ukrainian women that want to meet me...

Patrick, you’ve been a baaaaad boy!😉😁

Actually, I see them too and don't know why, but hey, it's eye candy. Would you rather see advertisements for Depends featuring Rosie O'Donnell??

Our kids got us a bird feeder that has a built in wifi camera. It's been fun to watch the birds this way. BUt yesterday morning, I was just bending over to let the dog out of his crate for the morning, when I saw a Hawk attack a bird on the feeder, and carry it off, but not before knocking the whole contraption off the tripod.

I'll lhave to check to see if anything broke when I get home.. not time to look at it this morning.

I keep getting those ads too, quite annoying really 😒

There are no women on my IPhone except the names in my contact list.

Good morning from my world in Wisconsin. Because of the strange forecast that we may or may not get 4-10” of the white stuff, I will probably be in the house the next 2 days. Today, I was planning a quick 70 mile drive to what might become my new closest LHS, Hiawatha Hobbies. But, the plumber called to change all the filters and can be here today only for the next 6 working days. So, I need to be here from 10 to 2 for them. After that the snow may be falling and I have no urgent desire to drive in that.

Lots of little house organizational adjustments going on. Yesterday my cave got shifted so the fireplace is the central focal point. No idea what I was thinking when I had the movers place the furniture. It’s better now, I think!

I am heading down for an early start to the weathering adventures. If a snow storm hits I’m fine. Lots of food and fluids are in stock. The duel fueled generator has been checked, tested and topped off with the extra propane 100 gallon tank safely stored in the shed. The grill on the deck is cleaned and sheltered so I can use it. So, let it come or not

enjoy the day

Hmm.. that advertisement didn't take long, did it?

Late morning for most of you. Out here we are at 35f degrees (winter has arrived) and looking for 57f for a high under mostly sunny skies. I haven't checked "our" rainfall total, but for here we have received a lot. I saw on one of the LA stations that Santa Barbara received over 10 inches in a day - we probably had 1.5 to 2 that day. Amazing what a difference a hundred miles can make in the weather around here.

We have a couple great pizza places locally - none of them a chain.

I wish I could receive the Ukraine girls - all I get is ads on how to make my "stick" perform better ... I don't have any trouble with that!

The Spousal Unit made a huge pot of homemade Chilli yesterday afternoon and some homemade cornbread -not the package stuff. I had a couple bowls and going down to have some more this morning!
Sorry, FLO, I'll be back later for a sandwich.

Good Morning Again. Surprise, it started sprinkling while I was out to the doctor. That wasn't in the forecast and still isn't. Stubborn weather persons who never get outside!
No issues noted by the dermatologist this morning, took one sample for the pathologist but he wasn't really concerned. He sprayed around with the liquid nitrogen a bit, but I think that he does that to get more $$$ from Medicare.

Pizza - My favorite pizza is my homemade one made with whole wheat flour, slightly thick crust, homemade Marina, boatloads of freshly grated Mozzarella, more toppings than commercial, especially pepperoni (no pineapple thank you) and finished off with freshly grated Parmesan cheese. Of course now that I am limiting carb intake, I don't make it very often. There's two small family owned Italian places in town a few miles away that both make excellent pizza, but neither is whole wheat crust.

I'm hoping to change the oil in the car today if it doesn't rain much, then do some of the usual gardening and yard stuff. The weather is really nice right now and I feel like planting vegetables right now, but I won't be fooled by Mother Nature. The Farmer's Almanac indicates the second week in February this year for root crops.

Out in the train shed yesterday, I continued with cleaning structures. I have a series of businesses along the front edge of the layout here with the railroad running behind them. The street is "off-layout" so I don't need as many vehicles. I didn't make or need any improvements on these structures. From north to south we have Betty's Diner, a laser-cut wood kit from Bar Mills. They call it Sweaty Betty's.

Next door is Wagner & Son, a beer distributor. It's a kit from DPM from the 90's.

Moving down the block is the motorcycle repair shop simply known as Motorcycle Repair Shop. It is also an old DPM kit.

Next up is a pair of Hydrocal structures from Downtown Deco known as Blair Ave Part I.

More to come next.

Tom O - You mentioned the sale items at Walther's yesterday morning. My now retired LHS owner was a Walther's distributor and he always matched their sale prices. He got an additional rebate from them for all sales covered by their current catalog. I don't know if that was available to all of their distributors or not. Otherwise he always discounted everything by 20%. He only offered that sales price match to customers who asked for it, but got the rebate for all sales.
Joe - On my high carb days, there is nothing better than a Jersey Mikes #13. They offer a special cheese bread here, which can also be bought separately if you want to use it at home.
Patrick - AdBlock Plus works for me.

Everybody have a great day.

Hello folks!

Working from home today again. I have an audiologist appt later in the afternoon at 3:30 pm. Need to replace tubes and filters on my hearing-aids. Then a quick look at my ear canals to make sure all is well.

I am counting down the days for my road trip to West Springfield, Mass. for the Amherst Big "E" train show. So looking forward to that for the much needed road trip to get out of the house and do something different kinda thing. I may have a rider going with me. I offered to give him a ride if he wanted to go. He is a young fella that is working for our local shortline RR at the Battenkill RR. so that will be nice to have company. He seems to be cool kid. He is also a diesel mechanic by trade. A go getter. Works hard! Hopefully he comes and enjoys the trip. We shall see if he goes. Regardless I am going! lol

I do have an on going list that seems to be growing for the train show. It will be great if I can find half of the stuff I am looking for. It sure beats paying for shipping lol. Hopefully the weather doesn't snarl us we shall see. I think we are getting some weather this coming weekend we shall see.

The weather people keep saying winter is still gonna get mean. I suspected that as it usually does between now and February. I ordered up a top off on fuel oil for the furnace to be on the safe side. Like TomO I have my gas grill tanked up and generators ready too. Nice to know I am not the only one that will stand out in the winter weather grill a few steaks on the grill lol!

For those who do not know I posted up another locomotive of the week done by JTEX/Jerome and Mark from my collection. I will be doing this until all of the units done by them are posted. This will be a weekly ordeal. It's kinda my tribute to their work.

My nephew #2 is coming home tomorrow from Plattsburgh. I hope to spend time with him this weekend we shall see.

Last nite it rained and turned into a small but noticeable ice storm. Didn't lose power. It is warming up to 40° F so far.....

Well I gotta go! I will check back later.

Willie. My LHS offers 20% across the board to returning customers. For regulars he gives another 10% except on Athearn Genesis, Rapido and Lionel. He was asked many years ago why he didn’t match the occasional Walthers lower pricing. He may have fibbed but told us that he offers enough now to customerscand Walthers didn’t offer him anything additional. Sometimes it’s worth the drive to Walthers, especially since it is close to Hiawatha. If it’s Thursday or Friday.

I know Greg@mmr loved walking into the showroom. They have a bargain table that he always found something. Many warehouse damages but they usually were just carton damage nothing wrong with the model. Since the reopening after Covid, that table has not really had much interest for me

The previous house had my dream self designed outdoor kitchen useable in all weather and I did. There were times Terry preferred the outdoors to her inside out of bounds to me except for bread baking kitchen. Here I have a Weber spirit 2 propane grill, it’s fine and is used 3 evenings a week so far!

Plumber just texted, secure my pets and have a clear path to the house

bye
