Louis: I did the same thing here. I let another member get to me as well and just went through most of my old posts and deleted....When I came back, Sherrel figured out my former name and I said I'd behave better. As Willie said, it was the DC vs. DCC threads that got a bit heated, so I'll stick to my DC stuff.

Christian: Kansas was one of my go to bands in the day. Still can listen to them all day.

Still a lot of these ladies.
Willie- you cannot have too many girls in short skirts and shorts!

Your comment about the number of poses got me to wondering about the last figure purchase I made at a train show.
Nine wheelbarrow figures, 14 left hand tool figures, 9 right hand tool figures, 7 shovel figures and 11 figures with picks is 5 poses for 50 figures.
I cannot complain about the paint, yet, but I will have to modify some figures.

My favorite Kansas song, I knew it before the TV show Supernatural, but I do enjoy that show.

It was rumored that the late boyfriend of a woman we know by our cabin played with Kansas. When we met him he had a small band and still played so many of the 60's and 70's songs that I know so well. One Fourth of July he did a one man show for Cathy and I and our friends outside his girlfriend's cabin's on her deck.

He was a great guitarist.

He was a nice guy!

Afternoon All,

Spent the morning sorting wood strips that I had soaked in A&I. The frustrating thing about this is that some are measured in actual size and some in HO sizeo_O. I also finished painting detail parts (glad that's done). Tomorrow is house cleaning day so who knows if I get to the train room.

Justin- Take out one side and turn it into a dogbone/folded dog bone track plan. If you have room you can add a peninsula (works well for a yard).

Guy- Condolences to your daughter.

James- Thank you for the additional info. I tried installing JMRI with a PR3 years ago and was unsuccessful (clueless about computers).

Smudge- Like others have stated, they have improved. I have a Spectrum K4s (love it), The basic shark (RF16) A-A units. I like them but the trucks are loose and need tightning, and last and the very least is a 44 Tonner that s***s. I put a digitrax decoder in it but it still runs lousy so it's mainly staged.

Dave- Very nice depot scene.

IB Ken- Sorry to hear about your daughter. I hope she gets well soon.

TomO- Nice layout shot.

Sherrel- We're actually the opposite of you. We get a excellent military rate and have had great service with T-Mobile.

Joe- I'm not disputing how dangerous Covid is but I truly believe that the figures are greatly inflated (and include other respiratory issues) and I'm also tired of the constant barrage of "we're all going to die" in the news and online. Statistics are great, you can work them to support any argument.

Willie-Nice haul. Who makes the lights? I can't make out the name in the photos.

George- I wear masks when I go into stores. I have 2 family members with pre-existing significant respiratory issues living at home and at least it makes me feel like I'm trying to protect them.

I hope everyone has a good night.

START OF RANT: OK, I am beginning to be rather bored with all of the Omicron BS. Every expert has a different opinion, government paid experts are waffling all over the place and the President has punted. The VP who famously said that she couldn't trust anything developed under Operation Warp Speed has had all three jabs that were developed! It has gotten ridiculous Testing does nothing except to tell if you have it, doesn't fix anything and I am still looking in the mail for my free at-home test kit that was promised months ago. I do truly feel sad for anyone affected, but my family's recent experience with Omicron points out that we should be more worried about the flu. I'll still use common sense with social distancing and the mask, and have received all of the shots. RANT OVER.
As I've said before it's not a matter of if you'll get it it's when.

Good afternoon al! A simply beautiful, chamber of commerce day. If it were not for this Covid thing we would most certainly be out and about town. Wife has some underlaying issues so we try to be careful.

Well I completed Wanda's and planted it where I think it's going to go. I moved one of the smaller Bar Mills and place Wanda's there. The height of Wanda's made it a better fit than Jerry's Small Engine shop.

Just in case any IN/MI/OH USA peeps are looking for a cool hangout this Saturday, I'll be running a WWII game tourney in FT Wayne IN

I spared no expense (well, like one of Christian's layouts, well-intentioned in a minimalist method) and created these trophies.

The base blocks are printed with PLA+ filament. The plaques and tanks are resin printed. The smoky bit is fiberfill for pillows wrapped around a paper clip, then sprayed with red and yellow paint.

Told you, I spared no expense (on a teenager's paper-route-funded budget). Total price for each is under $2, counting electricty to run the printers.

Curt: I'm completely in agreement with your comment.

Dave: The depot is nice...

Hughie: Nice work on Wanda's..

This morning's freezing rain, caused some monumental pile-ups and a lot of bumper car videos. The head of the DOT claims they didn't know this was coming, until it was too late to react....???

Real tragedy, in Philadelphia, overnight, 13 people died in a fire in a three story row home that had been divided into six apartments...There wer no functional smoke detectors in the building...Building was owned by the City Housing Authority, and rented out as Public Housing. There are no regulatory restrictions as to how many family members can occupy a unit of housing...

Good evening Shop Dwellers!

First, a shout-out to those of you who either clicked the button and/or shared supportive comments about the geep photo and my youngest daughter's plight: Rick, Hughie, Guy, Justin, Chad, Willie, Sherrell, Patrick, Tom-C51, TomO, Gary, Louis, Christian, James, Smudge, Karl, Joe, Curt

- I forgot to offer my condolences yesterday on the loss of your Dad, sorry about that! I like your new layout plan, big improvement over the Sacred Sheet.

Also add Quercetin. It acts like a simple zinc ionophore. That means it helps facilitate the passage of the zinc through the cell membranes. Zinc normally doesn't pass into cells very well. (You can Google all this). In actual clinical treatment this is the function played by Hydrocloroquine (or however you spell it).
Quite true Chad, only problem is that very few stores even sell Quercetin - and the ones that do, are always sold out.

. . . I'd rather get a root canal and a colonoscopy simultaneously than deal with Verizon. The ONLY reason I stay with them is reception where I live. Sprint, tmobile, at&t all suck out here in the sticks.
. . .
Karl, I resemble that remark! We have Verizon for the exact same reason - my location [near the Patapsco Valley] isn't covered by any of the other carriers. When I first moved here we had AT&T, but most of our calls got dropped and we felt compelled to switch.

Willie - you've no doubt heard it said that most of us have more trains than we can possibly fit on our layouts at one time? Well, I'm starting to believe that you have more structures than space to fit them on! (Wish I had that "problem"...)

for those of us worrying about the numbers right now, I suggest following Dr Nurse-educator John Campbell PhD. He's doing well with the science and the data combined. Yes, we need to be cautious, but we should be optimistic.

His channel on youtube here. The last two vids he posted are well worth watching when you have 20ish minutes.
Actually, I spent close to an hour watching both his Jan. 4 and Jan. 5 videos. And probably will spend just as much time watching the ones he does over the next few days.

My 23yr-old daughter is gradually improving, she's able to keep some foods down again. Your prayers for her have been much appreciated! CVS never did deliver the Zofran though...I suppose their delivery people are overwhelmed like the testing labs are? [Still haven't had any news on my PCR result BTW...]

Biggest thing keeping me out of the trainroom now is preps for the latest weather prediction, calling for a possible 3-6 inches of snow on Thursday night. While I was in HOme Depot yesterday buying calcium chloride pellets to melt the ice on the sidewalk, I picked up some additional marker poles to outline the parking area at the head of my driveway. They were already sold out of the orange poles, but they had plenty of yellow ones. I took the leftover flourescent orange paint from my failed experiment [of trying to use it on my recently-bought SW7], and slathered it over the marker poles - and presto - orange marker poles!:p

YellowOrangeMarkerPoles.jpg

...the orange color is much easier to see against the white background of the snow in daylight.

My property was just within the northern fringe of the Monday storm, so we only got ~3 inches. None of the weather geeks know for sure where the storm's center is going to track this time; a 20-mile variance could make the difference between us getting <1 inch or >6 inches.

Good Night - and have a Pleasant Tomorrow!

Hughie- Wicked Wanda is a beautiful lady to add to your layout and she appears to be in a prominent place.
A very nice model worth you time and effort.
