Good evening Shop Dwellers!
First, a shout-out to those of you who either clicked the button and/or shared supportive comments about the geep photo and my youngest daughter's plight:

Justin - I forgot to offer my condolences yesterday on the loss of your Dad, sorry about that! I like your new layout plan, big improvement over the Sacred Sheet.
Also add Quercetin. It acts like a simple zinc ionophore. That means it helps facilitate the passage of the zinc through the cell membranes. Zinc normally doesn't pass into cells very well. (You can Google all this). In actual clinical treatment this is the function played by Hydrocloroquine (or however you spell it).
Quite true
Chad, only problem is that
very few stores even sell Quercetin - and the ones that do, are always sold out.
. . . I'd rather get a root canal and a colonoscopy simultaneously than deal with Verizon. The ONLY reason I stay with them is reception where I live. Sprint, tmobile, at&t all suck out here in the sticks.
. . .
Karl, I resemble that remark! We have Verizon for the exact same reason - my location [near the Patapsco Valley] isn't covered by any of the other carriers. When I first moved here we had AT&T, but most of our calls got dropped and we felt compelled to switch.
Willie - you've no doubt heard it said that most of us have more trains than we can possibly fit on our layouts at one time? Well, I'm starting to believe that you have more
structures than space to fit them on! (Wish
I had that "problem"...)
for those of us worrying about the numbers right now, I suggest following Dr Nurse-educator John Campbell PhD. He's doing well with the science and the data combined. Yes, we need to be cautious, but we should be optimistic.
His channel on
youtube here. The last two vids he posted are well worth watching when you have 20ish minutes.
Actually, I spent close to an hour watching both his Jan. 4 and Jan. 5 videos. And probably will spend just as much time watching the ones he does over the next few days.

My 23yr-old daughter is gradually improving, she's able to keep some foods down again. Your prayers for her have been much appreciated! CVS never did deliver the Zofran though...I suppose their delivery people are overwhelmed like the testing labs are? [
Still haven't had any news on my PCR result BTW...]
Biggest thing keeping me out of the trainroom now is preps for the latest weather prediction, calling for a
possible 3-6 inches of snow on Thursday night. While I was in HOme Depot yesterday buying calcium chloride pellets to melt the ice on the sidewalk, I picked up some additional marker poles to outline the parking area at the head of my driveway. They were already sold out of the orange poles, but they had plenty of yellow ones. I took the leftover flourescent orange paint from my failed experiment [of trying to use it on my recently-bought SW7], and slathered it over the marker poles - and presto -
orange marker poles!
...the orange color is much
easier to see against the white background of the snow in daylight.
My property was just within the northern fringe of the Monday storm, so we only got ~3 inches. None of the weather geeks know for sure where the storm's center is going to track this time; a 20-mile variance could make the difference between us getting <1 inch or >6 inches.
Good Night - and have a Pleasant Tomorrow!
