CSX did the most distasteful job of heritage units in these 50 states to make matters worse. They used what I consider the most hideous of paint schemes to honor the western Maryland railway.
it's the thought that counts

Good morning Coffee Shop, it's Saturday!
The temperature is 46°F (5°C) and mostly clear here.
Have a great day!

Good morning. It's raining and 65.
Good morning all, it's 41 here and clear this AM. First day back to work, say a prayer that my back behaves today, Monday would mark a month that my back went out. Getting really tired of sleeping in the recliner! Anyway you all have a good day.

Should be pretty comfortable by now in that recliner with your butt firmly embedded into it like mine is in mine! haha.
Hope your back gets better soonest so that you can get better rest.

Thanks! This one doesn't sleep as well as my previous one, but it's still pretty good.
Good morning all!
Happy Saturday!
Not as nice today as our almost 70F day yesterday but still pretty good for this time of year. Currently 30F with an expected high
of 38F.
Usual Saturday chores today. Weekly grocery run. laundry, etc..... Not much else going on at the moment.
Have a safe day everyone!

Well howdy there internet land-peeps, and those at sea.
It's Troy again.
Still at sea. Today is a Sea Day with no ports. So 3,000 of my closest friends and I will be experiencing the bars and shows together.
I think I mentioned before that the other day the wife said she had two mudslides up on the pool deck. (that was the same day as the sacks/socks fiasco.)
So I told my friendly bartender that she was ahead of me on Mudslide consumption by two.
The next thing I see is this in front of me.
Also, I believe that a couple of you might want to hear me on a recent gaming podcast. Just over an hour of my nasally voice with the host. This is all about toy-soldier games in general.
Rob is joined by veteran Grognard and writer Troy Hill to talk about his background and thoughts on 4th edition. https://nodicenoglory.com/ https://mysticbrewspub.com/

Tonight is the "fleetwood mac" tribute by the band from the Syd Norman's Pourhouse. Syd's can seat about 50-ish... so this one gets moved to the theatre. Two shows, both packed! The theatre holds 784, with room for wheelchairs, so up to 800 max. Times two shows = less than 1/2 the guests on board. Go early, park butt in seat and don't move.
Time to edit what I wrote yesterday. BBL
Good morning from weather changing Wisconsin. High 50’s yesterday. It’s 30f degrees now but 1-6” of snow is expected today depending on your neighborhood. So anything anywhere is possible today. Yesterday the guesses were in the low 90% range, today they are in the low 80% range. We’ll get what we get!
We have playoff game #2 on campus between the Badger Hockey women and Bemidgi State at 3pm. 7-0 yesterday with all 5 Olympians back and the goalie getting a shutout and a rare assist. 4 goal medalists in the 5 plus the head UW Trainer was on the USA women’s staff. The place was rocking.
Terry said in a bet her sister would not sign 1 document. But she signed the one we expected not to be signed but did not another. The saga is not complete! Sister said she’d come over this afternoon but was told we won’t be home. Whatever ensued after that comment caused Terry to click off the phone. As Terry said for a person asking for help she sure makes it difficult…
Enjoy the day
Morning all,
47° and we had a pop-up thunderstorm happen in the past 30 minutes. Dropped a bunch of pea sized hail and rain and moved on. Supposed to be 75° later. Tied the record from 2024 yesterday of 80°. Temps in the 40's tomorrow.
BBL
45°F out there at 0730. Supposed to be in the upper 60s today after a high of 73°F that lasted just long enough to notice on the thermometer before starting the slide down again.
I guess I'll be calling Memphis PD later to find out how to file a police report long-distance for my new Walther that seems to keep getting deeper into the abyss of Fedex World Hub.
Have a good weekend! Servus!
Good Morning All. Partly cloudy and 56° with a hint of fog this morning. Supposed to reach 84° today after 80° yesterday. Thunderstorms still in the forecast for Wednesday through Monday at least. Maybe Mother Nature is going to make up for the recent 4 month drought.
Bubba came by yesterday and got my tiller running again; for more than the 20 seconds that it ran the other day. Made the first round through the garden to a depth of 5". I'll go back today and go down to the max which is 8"-9". After that first run through, I added 3" of wood chips to the first 3' on the western edge to mix in and loosen up the soil when I go back over it. It will also get a layer of compost and grass clippings before today's tilling. I'll add the wood chips over the rest before tilling that part, but I am going to plant Green Beans along that western side first. Ground is not warm enough yet for Tomatoes or Squash. They'll survive but won't grow. While it's not too late for some early-Spring stuff like Lettuce and Spinach, I'm just not going to bother this season. Straight to the late-Spring stuff.
Due to the garden, I didn't get a lot of time out in the train shed yesterday. Glued a few more pieces to the Fordson tractor model, really tiny pieces. While it's taking longer than expected, it is coming along well so far. Still need to add the clutch pedal, gearshift lever and starting crank. They're even tinier than what I have added so far. I don't anticipate much time out there again today. I'll make up the lost time if it really rains for 5 days in a row next week.
Been scouring the Internet for an appropriate sign for the classic tractor sales lot, but I have come up empty-handed. I'll have to make up my own.
Michael - I had read earlier this week about the chemical spill at FedEx in Memphis, so it's a real thing. Didn't read how long things would be affected.
Louis - Sorry, but that's an ugly locomotive! Prayers continue for Cecilia.
John - I love Micro Center. It's a total fantasyland. Have a safe trip. I'd have to vote for someone named Earl LeRoy "Buddy" Carter at first glance. Sounds like someone from Texas. I actually know of him and his political positions from previous readings, although I wasn't aware of the "LeRoy" middle name.
Hughie - Some Bar Mills kits are tough in HO scale. I can imagine the difficulty in N scale that you have to deal with. But they're still my favorites.
Kevin - Good luck with your back.
Everybody have a great Saturday.
Getting really tired of sleeping in the recliner! .
Yea, sleeping in a recliner for an extended period of time sucks!
I was there several years ago when I spent almost 3 months in a recliner or on the floor with back issues.
Hope it gets straightened out soon for you!
Good morning, all! A pretty nice day on tap. It's a little unusual since it's the day of the Houston Rodeo parade. Seems more often than not, on parade day the weather sucks. Not much happening here at the camp. I have a couple of errands to run and then try some work on Klinger's. Those little tiny pieces are peel and stick. I am thinking to just glue them on. I tried peeling one of the pieces and it was not very easy even while evoking some words learned as a sailor. Oh, Willie, despite the challenges, Bar Mills are still my favorites as well.
I see where old what's his face along with and his old pal, someone else, are trying to persuade some with a lot of sandcastles, to talk nice to them and find a new home and job.
STAY SAFE
LATER
Good morning gang!
Been outside for a while, mending fences, picking up limbs and branches, cleaning leaves out of the basement stairwell, happy homeowner stuff! It is almost 60° outside and gorgeous!!! A great day to wipe winter off the face of the yard!
Kevin, good luck with your back! I've only intentionally slept in the recliner three times. Once after I had plates and screws put in my neck, once with Covid (I was banished to the basement) and after heart surgery. (Because the new recliner would stand me up). Dozing off in the recliner watching TV is accidental sleep!
Willie, I always thought you were a man of good taste, the locomotive comment proved it. CSX should have done something akin to this. Even with the ugly blue and yellow added this would have looked better.
Heading out to HD soon then the car wash , BBL

Good day to all on the forum...............
It is 85 degrees here today. A great day to be outside.
We have rain in the forecast here starting on Tuesday and lasting until the next Saturday. Temps will range from 65 to 83.
Grass has grown an inch in the last 4 days. After the rain, I'm sure it will require a cutting........trees are budding out also.
A change in plans for me as I will be going to Plano Tx on Sunday and picking up my 3D printer at Micro Center on Monday. Then back to west Tx.
My old customer and friend called me Friday and has another fancy residential stair for me to draw. So while it rains, I'll be inside my office building pushing a pencil. And just when I thought I would be able dive into 3D printing school.
On another note, I had the drive shaft removed from my pick-up truck ( you may remember, the one with the elusive vibration issue ) and got it over to the "Drive Line" shop. They said the u-joint mounting clamps on the drive shaft were out of alignment ever so slightly on one end of the shaft. They fixed it and checked the balance. I took the drive shaft back to my mechanic so he could re-install it last Tuesday. He is also supposed to get the front end aligned as my steering wheel is off center since he installed new tie rod ends several months ago. It was supposed to be ready Friday but I did not get a call. So, I'm hoping maybe Tuesday and keeping my fingers crossed that the "tweaking" done by the drive shaft shop will fix my vibration problem. We shall see.
In reference to public meetings/shows and personal hygiene, I find that every train show I attend has that one person ( sometimes more ) that really stands out in offending my olfactory nodes.
On occasion, I'll get a whiff of stench from someone at the grocery store or Dollar General, usually older folks unfortunately.
Everybody stay well and have a great weekend.
John

Glad you are getting the garden going.

Hope that finally fixes the issue. Been a long process. Drive shaft out of alignment would induce issues.

Good morning. Slept in today and yesterday, getting up around 0800. Today and tomorrow will be berzerk tree days with some relief on Tues and Wed due to guessed rain.
Finally got my tax return deposit notification for the 4th. So 20 out of the 21 days that their website stated. That's fine, as long as I get it.
