Well, got another BS response from Scaletrains customer service. Got told to read the manual. This may well be the only one I buy from them.
That's disappointing to hear. I have always had great dealings with their CS the few times I had to deal with them.

I have read on a couple of other forums that their CS may not be as good as it once was.

Its been the same guy. I wonder if I can request to speak to someone else. This a family run business? If so, I won't waste my time. Kinda like talking to Digitrax as she intercepted and deflected everything I threw at them.

This was sent 2nd Day Air, or was supposed to be. I started a support ticket. The dealer will be contacted in the morning if I don't see this on a truck for delivery.

Here's the Fedex excuse on the tracking page:

"Your package is impacted due to events out of our control e.g. dangerous weather or other local restrictions."

It's been sitting in Memphis since 0901 yesterday morning.

My gunstore does a lot of transfers, most involving Fedex. Their computer reporting system is totally screwed up. It will send a delivery email to the buyer that it has been delivered to our store when it is loaded on the delivery truck, and we won't see the truck until late afternoon. Most folks are very understanding when they will call to see when they can pick up their gun. But some get mad at us, claiming we're just lazy and won't do their paperwork quickly. We even had one guy drive from a town about 25 miles away and demand his gun at 10AM, all we could do was tell him we would call as soon as it arrived. He wouldn't leave and actually went out to his car and called the police and ATF on us, claiming we had stolen his gun! The local ATF agent came over and got there while the local PD was explaining to the guy we didn't have his gun. ATF went through our delivery stock and video records and told the guy to knock it off as he was causing a scene. So the guy gets in his car and waits across the street in an empty parking lot, watching. The truck showed up at 3:45 and he came charging in at 3:46! He wants to examine the gun and the Manager told him he couldn't see or touch it until we had it logged in, he paid for the transfer and passed the background check. He started getting obnoxious again and the manager was fed up at this point and told him to get out and never come back, we would be returning the gun to the seller. About this time the cop from the morning saw the guys car over there and came in and told the guy to leave. He started yelling now, that he had been there all day and wanted his property and he would get his gun! He was then told that he could either leave or be arrested, charged and would probably get a felony charge for creating a problem at a gun store! He finally left at about 430.
We hat Fedex's computer system.

SCaletrains is not family run. A group of former Athearn employees started it. I would call and ask for Shane Wilson’s voice mail. He’s the head guy

Well, per my instructions to read the manual, it states that the switches need to be in the off position, which they were. Replied to the email and told him so. Also stated my displeasure and threw in stuff like reputation, purchasing again, recommendation, and asked for Mr. Wilson's contact info. We'll see.

I had to do this with Kato USA as well. I added Kato Japan to the email thread and let them know that I did that so that the parent company would be aware that their brand was being sullied.

I don't like doing this and would prefer they provide good customer service instead.

I just figured out how to clean up the throttle function panel in JMRI. Didn't like having all those extra function keys being shown and even after hiding them and saving the throttle, they would always come back the next time I started using the program.

1. open a throttle
2. edit, throttle preferences
3. select hide undefined roster function buttons

4. apply, save
5. if you still see unused function keys showing up, then go to that loco's label & media (right click on the loco).

6. clear the labels that you don't want. save to roster and walah!! All clear.

Well, howdy there peeps and those wondering when Troy will get clean undies.

It's Troy again

And in clean undies.

The stock of cleans, nicely folded were in our cabin last evening after the dinner and show.

but I was worried.

Seems the wife was back in the cabin early afternoon. Too much doing nothing was taxing her, so she needed a good lie-down. So she smeared the collagen goop on her face, you know for DIY spa treatment, killed the lights and was crawling into bed,

tap tap tap real quiet on the door.

Grrrrrr....

She rises and cracks the door after seeing a housekeeping person through the peephole.

Very broken English in the normal sing-song vibe of a Filipino. "You turn in laundry. Tag says four sacks... there are only three..."

No
, wife says. We only sent in one sack.

He uses his wireless phone to check. "No, there are three. The slip says four sacks"
"No. I put it on the bed," wife says. "Only one sack."

He uses his phone again. "We only have three socks. Not four."
💡🧏‍♀️

OHHHHHHH! Socks?

"Yes, Sacks. That is what I said."
Go ahead and do it. My husband is a dumbass and miscounted....
If she didn't say it, she at least thought it.

So the great undies saga has come to an end.

We're in Puerto Rico today. San Juan. Our plan is to get off an walk to Castillo San Felipe del Morro, the fort on the coast. Been here twice before and never got to go see it. (Long story, I've told it before). I've been trying to get a cruise back to this port with enough time for a visit.

Might even get a few photos of some kitty cats. The ferals are all over, and very tolerant of humans.

I'll post more later. Tomorrow is a sea day.
