Check the firing pin channel. If chrome got in there, it may be causing the firing pin to not be able to retract.
Sorry Louis-OMG, I will pretend I never read that!
Honestly, my mom felt the same about John Wayne. She loved westerns, just not him. When her grandkids pitched in to give her the John Wayne movie collection on DVD, guess who she quietly passed it along to later.
The remake of True Grit is absolutely worth checking out, as it shines as a fantastic western all on its own. And I thought I wouldn't like it, "who could replace John Wayne?!" I still like the original better, both are good.
I like that idea and I have the DVDs to do it!
I have heard comments on Dremel tool usage many times as the Gunsmith's best friend and job security and that you should have to pass an IQ test before being allowed near a gun with a Dremel. I regularly at work get guns running again with just a proper cleaning! He was finally able to remove the firing pin. It was hanging up on the safety cylinder even after explaining that the safety cylinder has to be set between Safe and Fire to remove it.
Bubba had the post-war firing pin installed in a war-time slide along with a war-timer firing pin spring that did not fit correctly. Still missing the firing pin lock pin spring (it wasn't in the channel like I thought it might be if the spring had been inserted before the lock pin and fell through the slide into the channel) and the firing pin retaining pin.
Numrich has all parts except the firing pin retaining pin. I told him to call Earl at Earls Repair Service in Massachusetts. If anyone would have this part, it's Earl.
Kitchen table gunsmithing should be a crime.
We were all big John Wayne fans at my house. He certainly had his flaws, as did most of old Hollywood. Some didn't like him because he didn't go to war. He was I think, 38 at the time, had three kids, and was hitting his stride as an actor. The Government no doubt thought he'd be worth more making patriotic war movies, which he did. My favorites of his are "The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance", "McQ", and "The Shootist". The Shootist was given an extra shot of reality because he was very sick during the filming, and you could see he was fading. He and Ron Howard had excellent chemistry.OMG, I will pretend I never read that!

Today was vanilla-caramel Black tea with a Diet Dr Pepper chaser.@troyphoto what kind of coffee did you get to fill in before your trip?
My wife and I picked up a dark roast used for espresso "Cafe Bustelo" I never heard of it, but I wasn't paying $19.99 for 27.5oz of Columbian Coffee! I need to get to Aldi.
I have never tried to freeze a Girl Scout. I think thats just wrong.Nice thing is they freeze well.
When the daughter dabbled for a couple of years in Girl Scouts my wife usually loaded up on them as well!
Just An update, I got a call from Scale Trains saying another person sent back an engine with the same type problem as I had. Turns out after trying a few things on the programer an employee ask if the dip switch is off. They pulled the cover off and it was in the on position. (On for dcc ready off for sound installed. They checked a few on the self and some were ok others not. So if you have one and programing is difficult try that.Anyone get the new Scale Trains GP 40. Had to send mine back due to bad decoder in both, that and they decided mid production that they are not going to paint the wheel faces anymore.
I'm pretty sure I have the entire series on DVD, plus a couple of extras. If you want them, shoot me an offer, and I'll check to make sure I still have 'em.Then sold the DVDs as part of the great purge prior to moving to a tiny apartment in Los Angeles.
Now I'm thinking I should just go get the DVDs again and give it a rewatch and fill in everything I missed.
