Good Morning All. Foggy and 35°, colder than the forecast of 42°. Still expecting mid-70's today and tomorrow with thunderstorms still in Saturday's forecast. Low-80's next week...it's still February!
Yesterday's doctor visit was uneventful, wasn't expecting any further changes. He is the electrocardiologist who did my heart ablation in December. Lot's of good information from him though. I'll wear a heart monitor for a week as a follow-up to the original ablation.
Today is the weekly grocery trek. Pharmacy is also on the list.
I'm currently down to just one forum, this one. MRH just kinda got away from me. I didn't have time to sort through all of the BS going on in some threads.
OK, I finally picked up a small project out in the train shed yesterday. I decided to upgrade an old train set Bachmann gondola that has been occupying space on a shelf for at least 15 years. It came from a train set that I had bought for my son in the 80's, so it was sentimental value more than need for the layout. Of course it had the old truck mounted horn-hook couplers and I had discarded the plastic wheels years ago.
Off came the coupler mountings, one flew off into the Twilight Zone and I haven't located it yet!
Had some Kadee boxes to use instead.
Trucks had that hideous center post, but since this will be a background car or just a moving object, I left them alone rather than spending the time filling the hole and tapping it out for something else. I used Intermountain metal wheelsets because they fit better than the shorter axle Kadee ones that I also have on hand.
I guess that I forgot to take a finished picture. Need to clean everything up today and test-run it. Just a quick project to get the juices flowing again.
Steve - I'll be looking forward to the responses that you get regarding the Caboose Industries SPDT ground throws. I think that I would have some use for them, but I never think to pick any up at the LHS.
Mike - Nuns/priests didn't start leaving my schools until after I graduated high school in '69. I saw many a wooden yardstick get broken during grade school, although I don't remember one breaking against my butt.
Michael - While we had Catechism classes every day, we did not have homework in that subject. However, we went to 8:00 Mass every day of school in grade school.
Abe Lincoln's birthday today. It's also my wife's #76, more important than Honest Abe.
Everybody have a great Thursday.
