Welp, tomorrow evening wife and I will attend a StuporBowl party in our community's clubhouse.

Due to a family emergency, the person organizing the community Holiday party had to cancel, and this is the replacement.

We'll show up as the doors open, consume food, chat with neighbors. I might shout "GO SPORTBALL" That's it.

Then we'll leave about the time of the kickoff, unless we're having fun with something else there. Back home, it'll be to our respective recliners. I'll read or watch Olympic Curling replays. Wife will watch k dramas or Olympic figure skating.

Now I know why I don't care... From the same folks that did the "Why some people don't like sports" video:

Looks like we're going to get a mixture of snow and rain all day today. Sensors are showing 0C, ground is wet and snow is falling. I did have a light cover of snow on my car port @ 0800, but that has since melted off and is now trying to get it back on. No reports of black ice, so that's good.

Good evening gang!

Currently it is 8°, with a "feels like" temp of -10°. Should be 6° by morning. It's so cold I saw a politician with his hands in his own pockets!

Goodnight all!

Every visit to the site, every listing I view, every item I add to my watchlist or cart, every time.
Do you have any idea what could be the cause?
I will never understand all of the fuss they make over a game.
All the hype surrounding the game is mostly nonsense. Like the half-time shows, that are usually not for me anyway, I don't care!

For many the Super Bowl is a social event, an unofficial secular holiday. For the true fan it is about the game.

🏈 This Super Bowl could be an epic showdown between two modern defenses. Seattle’s defensive schemes are puzzling as I watch their replays, and New England isn’t far behind. It’s amazing the nearly endless schemes the coaches come up with. NFL defenses are evolving quicky!

I am familiar with the Seahawks head coach Mike Macdonald. Or at least I thought I was. He began his NFL career with my Baltimore Ravens, starting as an intern in 2014, then moving up to defensive assistant in 2015, defensive backs coach in 2017, and linebackers coach in 2018. He went on to be the defensive coordinator at the University of Michigan in 2021. He returned to the Ravens in the same role from 2022 to 2023 and was named head coach of the Seahawks in January 2024.

⚾ This week the Orioles pitchers and catchers report to spring training on February 11. The rest will report February 16.

Play Ball!

I didn't like the night mode as I couldn't see the difference between the old and new notifications. But, now it seems that the day mode is washed out as well. I'll just go by the little number on the bell for now.

I guess my computer is set for night mode since this site defaulted to that. I didn't know that it is and looked around in WIN11 PRO to find that setting, but haven't found it yet.
If you're using Windoze, it should be in Settings, Personalization. If you're using Apple, it will be in System Settings, Appearance.

Good morning!
It's -9°F outside. We got another 3" yesterday of the light fluffy stuff and have no plans to go out to shovel or plow. The basement temp dropped down in the 40s so I plugged in the electric heater and will wait an hour or two before I run trains and other work on the layout. I'm no football fan so I'll be spending much of the day down there.

Keep warm and happy MRRing !!!

Well, howdy there internet peeps and those dozing to the Olympics

It's Troy again.

The Piriformis Syndrome (fake sciatica) continues, but is improving. Days vary, but yesterday was a good day for decreasing my NSAID dosage. Today, I may add some doses back in. Still stretching, and finally able to hit the teeter table and Nerve Glide exercises to keep the real Sciatica from Spinal Stenosis in check. The joy of Real and Fake Sciatica at the same time.

Started working on getting the latest book project notes transferred over to a Plotting App I can use offline. Being on a cruise ship, internet is expensive by the minute - or $200 for 10 days worth of Starlink. I don't want to give that much $$ to one of Epstein's friends via the cruise line, so I'll stick with the by the minute package, and upgrade with extra minutes as needed.

I have three plotting apps that act as "story bibles" with character profiles, plot synopsis for each chapter, location details, lore for the fantasy aspects, etc. It's all entered in one app, that needs the internet. So I'm doing a lot of copy and paste into the other app. I suspect I'll get sidetracked a few times as I find things that need to be developed further, and I'll jump in and start chatting with Alfred the AI.

Wife says it's 5-Guys for burgers today.

I'll have to go shovel some snow before that, though. Looks like we're in the midst of getting an inch or two. Then the warm up hits next week and gets above freezing each day!
