I received a call last night that I was needed to appraise a collection on Wednesday. If the shop and client can agree on a price I will have a lot more to list online. IF we get it and IF there are any Walthers I will let you know before they are listed. My guess is that it will be a bunch of Winchesters and Colts again.

I have my mind set on a Q4 SF, mostly because it is Walther's first (second actually with the Q5) metal-framed full-size duty pistol since the P88. I'm also looking at mint P1s that match, hi-polished post war P.38s, some war-time matching P38s, but most are out of my range. Those that aren't look like they were either dragged behind a truck, left out in a rain forest, or have been Bubba'd with cold bluing, mismatched grips, parts guns, etc.

A nice Ulm PP or PP Super, P5, and P88 is also on the radar. A first variation, low serial number P99 in excellent condition with black frame is also being considered.

Decisions, decisions. 🔫

The dark mode was a change. I run my machines and devices in dark mode but unless a web page has really been designed for it I prefer to run them in light mode. Things like images and everything seem to work better unless the webpage designer really thought about how implement dark mode.

Something else, which I’m guessing is a response to the huge AI scraping of websites and forums, is I am constantly being forced to verify myself, and checking my browser before being allowed onto Fleabay. I am getting very, very tired of having to complete a captcha with every single item I click on. Other places are using Cloudflare to make sure users are real humans.
I've been using eBay since 2012. Other than to have to enter my password I have never been asked to verify my identity. When I use it on a regular basis, I don't even have to enter my password.

It's a rainy day, so I cleaned track, engine wheels, and ran a a couple of ops sessions.

Good afternoon gang!

13°out there right now but the wind makes it feel like -8°. Jeepers that feels cold, even in the bright sunshine. Just got back from taking the wife to ge a cut & color treatment, meanwhile I slipped out to HD for a few packs of firewood. I ll have the wood stove running downstairs soon.
Every visit to the site, every listing I view, every item I add to my watchlist or cart, every time.
Your reputation must have preceded you? Or maybe it is just Mr. Murphy? He does seem to enjoy messing with you.

Willie, Glad to hear you are back in the train shed. It is awesomely therapeutic isn't it?

Machines that go nowhere.. We have two of them. A treadmill and an elliptical. They work best for the wife hanging out her "machine wash, hang dry" laundry. She prefers to use the walking in place videos found on cable that are instructor lead with choreographed music in front of the big TV. Currently I have no use for them. I walk enough I can wear out a $79.00 pair of Sketchers in 3 months at my job. Maybe after I retire I can put them to good use.

I personally like the dark mode I keep everything on dark mode so its a nice refreshment. how is everyone today I'm at home relaxing. debating on starting a proper ho layout. I got details out as it'll be a branch line served grain industry but not set on era motive power and the such. anyway who's ready for the stupid bowl TO BE OVER OMG every channel every commercial is big game this big game that. now don't get me wrong imma watch it but the halftime show will suck I don't care for either team so I don't care might watch the puppy bowl instead lol. right now got some ozzy in my ears right now might go over to some meatloaf then go to nickle back or life house. As an autistic I am proud to announce I am looking at a job opportunity doing secretary work basically so a cushy desk job not to bad to start out on. its almost g scale season so I'm gonna save up for a leg set so I can use the track. anyway God bless all of y'all may your trains run freely and on time!!

Well, howdy there internet peeps and those still in light mode.

I'll Join Willie in announcing I'm not in the Epstein files. though, when I lived in Indy, I did have a potential wedding client inquire if that was me on the local Sex Offender registry.

I did some quick digging on the earlier internet, and discovered I had a the wrong skin color to be that Troy. I sent the potential client a link to my website bio page and the mug shot of the dude on the registry.

Wife and I hit the local wings place (small regional chain) called Wings, etc. She got the tenderloin, I got the cowboy burger. When scanning receipt into the rewards app, I discovered they'd updated the app and new rewards were populating. Gone was the free entree as top point (what we shoot for).

Now its a free basket of 10 wings or a free chicken sammich. Note, that we don't go there for chicken. Wife gets oink, I get moo. We've now earned a free basket... but will we use it?...

Got more gaming bases made up, and used some crushed walnut shells (bought a big box from Harbor Freight in the Sandblasting supplies a long time ago, and still using them up)

Added some desert skeletal remains or Orcy fortifications as stage dressing for the Eavy Metal concert the Orcs will be attending.

The pic above was right after applying the second coat of scenic cement this morning. Since then, I've hit them with a rattle can of of "Desert Sand" flat primer.

We're supposed to get 2 more inches of snow late overnight into the morning hours. Oh joy!

Good afternoon to each and everyone of you! It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood, would you be, could you be ................ I managed to finish the Williamstown Coal kit. This one took a lot longer than usual for me. There were also a few days where life interrupted my model train time. All in all not a bad kit, but instructions were dismal.

Swal - I too will turn 80 this year. As to food, I believe everything in moderation and no sugar.

Hughie, I just posted over on your thread, the new silos look great!
Troy, all I can hear in my head is "Waaaugh [downshift] Waaaaaugh [upshift] Waaaaaaugh!" Perfect scenery of da Boyz whether Gaslands, Bloodbowl or GW.
I've got the printer running turning out a Mech for Battletech [hopefully] got some fun downloads from cults and I'm trying out a new designer. Cross your fingers for me.
First day I'm almost straight vertically since Monday, did something to screw up my back, so been on some GOOOOD meds. today I am taking normal strength stuff.
You all take care.

Thank you. I do need to plant the structure as there are some" bald spots" on the ground.

I didn't like the night mode as I couldn't see the difference between the old and new notifications. But, now it seems that the day mode is washed out as well. I'll just go by the little number on the bell for now.

I guess my computer is set for night mode since this site defaulted to that. I didn't know that it is and looked around in WIN11 PRO to find that setting, but haven't found it yet.

I'm buying a treadmill tomorrow. After the age of 60 your chances of getting insulin resistance are good. They say exercise such as walking after eating will let your muscles draw out sugar from your blood stream. I already do a lot of walking in the summer but almost none in the winter months. So, starting tomorrow I'll start walking inside. Swal

A friend of mine has a treadmill. He says it has made a great place to hang clothes.

Magnificent day today. Sunny, wind-free and 70° meant shorts once again. It was 82° yesterday. Feeling better all of the time. A couple of milestones so to speak today! Out in the train shed, I got down and under the layout to upgrade some wiring. That's an accomplishment since my lower level is just 36". And more importantly, I got back out and up with minimal effort! The second milestone was that in celebration of the first, I had my first beer in three weeks. Sure tasted great.

Good afternoon to all forum cruisers..............

82 for a high yesterday and only a few degrees less today. Supposed to be in mid 70s for next 10 days.

I test ran a Proto 2000 Heritage 2-8-8-2 loco yesterday I purchased on e-bay. It had a few hiccups, missing smoke stack and missing another piece on the side of the loco. It did run well when hooked up to the tender by wires only...........the drawbar was broken and the piece that locks onto the tender was in a parts bag. I contacted the seller and ended up getting a full refund. But I was going to have to return the loco back to the seller. I offered $75 for the loco and tender and he said ok. The tender is in excellent condition and maybe I can find a brass stack and try and fix the drawbar. I really did not need another "project" but I have 3 of these locos so this one may be a parts only piece.

My other purchase from e-bay, shipped by FedEx is in limbo. Seller said she dropped off the loco on Thursday morning and would check back today. I have heard nothing. She said she dropped off the package at a postal annex ??? Why not FedEx ? I think this is one of those FedEx/post office delivery schemes. Neither show any tracking info but FedEx says it has received shipping number. You know, shipping is not all that complicated but there is a female involved..........nuff said.

I've been assembling some turnout machines. That is a servo bracket, servo, lever switch ( to power frogs ) and the piano wire that operates the turnout. I also mount the servo bracket onto a larger wood base with four holes so mounting under the benchwork is a bit easier. Sorry I don't have a photo handy.

The only treadmill I have to work on is everything that happens from the time I get out of bed until the time I get back into bed.

Everyone have a great evening......John
