Looks like i'll have to call and make arrangements. The locomotive is inside a fence and if i was to build a model, i need to get good detail shots of it. Thanks.

I ran down there to check it out. Your right it is fenced in, Last I remember only 3 sides were fenced in. You can get fairly close on the other side if you walk down the Amtrak platform. The steps and platform are still there so by appointment someone might let you get close-ups and let you in.

Well, howdy there internet peeps and those without gall bladders.

It's troy again, and I've still got mine.

My sis in law is home, and wife is with her. Haven't heard any more than that.

We've got snow supposedly moving in tonight. Supposed to get 1-2 inches overnight.

I worked on the Panther some more today. Got the camo done, AFTER I made a trip to the hobby shop. My Vallejo Model Color was so old it was not behaving well in the airbrush. Ran out and got a "close enough" set of colors in the Vallejo Air line and made the camo work.

Here's the body after getting the main details and camo done. Then clear coated, then a wash/filter applied. Wiped off the excess.

And the exhaust end...

I painted the two main exhaust pipes medium grey. then I hit the lower parts with Army Painter Speedpaint Grey. And the upper parts with a Speedpaint grey, followed by a Speedpaint Orange.

Here's the wash/filter I used.

Hmmm... this place is devoid of people this early.

Flo and Francine are still napping in the corner booth. I'll try to clean up the mess we left them yesterday. Oh, Mara is here. You get that end of the mess, and I'll get this end

Nothing new on the gall bladder updates. I suspect that will come later this morning.

Woke up at four and got a bowl of oatmeal. I have problems swallowing large pills, like vitamins, so I always tuck them into something soft, like oatmeal or yogurt.

DON'T chew once the pill is in there!

For some reason, I have to masticate the already mushy oatmeal. So it's insert spoonful, chew a couple of times. Insert big pill into mouth. Swallow the mess.

Anyone else feel compelled to chew soft foods that don't need it?

In other news, I let something go to long, and now I'm in a panic state trying to get it ironed out. I set up my Shopify store to sell my books online (ebooks only right now). There's a service that will register my little business for the EU VAT payments in Ireland. The service records all my sales to the EU, and sends in the online forms, etc.

And the email with the password that will ONLY come to me, not to the service, went WalkAbout. And I got a notice in the snail mail yesterday that I need to log in and file the report on the website I don't have a password to.

Being a govt website, the "I forgot my password" option is not present. I'm in - or I'm totally out....

So, I'm trying to email Ireland to get this resolved on a Saturday.

Guys im in the train to "Houten", very small dot on the map but biggest Rr model event in Europe. They have one every month. Will posts some pictures tonight, on the phone now. Its only 1 hour trainride but never go there. Far too scared to come with too much crap.
My boyfriend found the paint and brushes, but still need some water paint brick colours. See you tonight.

Good afternoon all. A cold, frosty morning. The sun is out now, but not making much difference.
A sausage bun please, Flo. Add some brown sauce to it. Keep the Ketchup away from the bun. You know I dislike it.

Oldest grandson has gone home. Just Dawn and I today.

I know I have enough rolling stock, but today I received an email on difficult (for me) to buy wagons. Purchases had to be made!!!
Hopefully they arrive next week.

Good Morning All!
39F at 79% and pretty clear. Made 50F+ yesterday and should be same today.

Two high-timers were walking in the woods eating mushrooms.
Pretty soon one looks at the other and said
"Having fun Gus"?

So for the other burning question of the day for all of you DP drinkers.
What does the 10 2 4 thing mean?

So for the other burning question of the day for all of you DP drinkers.
What does the 10 2 4 thing mean?
Dr Pepper originally came from Waco TX near here, so it's history is well known locally. A study in the 1920's or so, showed that folks seem to have a "sugar-low" around 10:00 am, 2:00 pm and 4:00 pm. So Dr Pepper's advertising people recommended drinking a DP at 10-2-4 to counteract that low. I can't vouch for the study or the results, but that's what I have been hearing since the 60's.

Good Morning!
Light snow on the ground, and I'll need to clean it up before it turns to ice. 26F off the top.

I was merrily constructing a model depot roof yesterday, when thoughts of hardships began to fill my head. What about the warehouse roof? Should I make that out of 1/16 material? How am I going to mate the roofs; the cuts need to be perfect? Should I just glue them down, or make them removable? Do I want people in there? Need backing for the chimney? Should I trim out now or later? Maybe I better complete the stucco before the roof? - Wow! It feels like I'm treading hap-hazard with no real plan. Wait, that is what I'm doing!
Better step back and get a bit of a plan in my head. That's the only place a plan needs to be.

Here it was when I took a step back:

I'll go have a shower, walk the dog, and scrape some snow off the sidewalk. By the time that's all done, I'll have a plan in my head.

Louis - I already have a nickname that's been carried since pre-school. 'Guy!' No-one remembers my given name anymore.
Curt - Must be nice to have MRR buddies. I don't; the towns too small and I don't know of any other modellers living in it.
Hughie - That wonderful Cola building fit right in. Looks like it was planned to go there.
Mike - You take and post fine photos. You should do that more often.;)
Troy - I never knew Italeri made 1/56 stuff.
Kriesblok - Looks like people are dumping in the semaphore area. It must be somewhat remote.

Well, I'd better get at it. Don't want to waste a fine Saturday morning!
Have a wonderful day!

Being my wife will no longer be home I decided to clear the house out of items I no longer have any use for.
With that I found and old photo of myself back in the days when I was a member of the Poughkeepsie magic club.
Which Jeff McBride was also a member. I completely forgot all about this photo and why is it so big. 2 X3 ft. I don't have a clue.
