Baltimore and Ohio Railroad bridge c1941, Charlestown, Indiana postcard (Charlestown-Clark County Library)
I know Indiana is currently the RV manufacturing capital of the US, I wonder if all those RVs or Mobile homes are part of a trailer park, or if there is a factory out of the picture and they are being built there?

"The trailer park in the background is one of many that existed because of the building of Indiana Ordnance Works in 1940."
Charlestown IN is just north of Louisville KY and the RV manufacturers are all in the north of the state ( most in or close to Elkhart) near the state line with Michigan.

Morning Fellas and ladies! Starting off at 49 degrees and looking for 71 (maybe) with sunny.
There is rain forecast for tomorrow and the next day as another atmospheric storm is forecast to come through. Perhaps "we" will benefit from an inch or two.

FRANCINE -- Good to see you this morning. I'll have a short stack with an extra side of bacon today.
I've been up for a couple hours watching the series on TV of the Flying Tigers during WW2 - lots of flying action - I was not aware that there was so many old films of the battles around at that time.

Yesterday was not a good day! I do not know if it was because of the previous day, or just a holdover from the prior Chemo; however, it was mid afternoon before I felt decent at all!
I tried to watch a hockey game, but I need to read some on the rules of the game - just not fam. with it?

Hope you all have a great day!

Good Morning All!

Helix project is coming along slow. Seems that every time I continue with it a wrench gets thrown in the works. Last time was Maria's Expedition, passenger window just decided to roll down and NOT stop, so the glass is in the bottom of the door. Don't remember if I posted or not, but that happened with the driver door a month or so ago which cost $300+ to fix. Not again, regulator was $89 and sitting in the dinning room waiting for a tad warmer weather. This time was the Train Cave pellet stove. After fussing for a day or so, I finally figured out that the vacuum switch was intermittent. It would allow pellet feeding on start up, then after some random time, it would drop out and no pellets would get fed, stove would turn off. Bypassed it and the stove has been working ever since. Part on order so I will leave it bypassed for now. If it was warmer, would not worry about it and would just leave it off. I did get my clear protractor in Friday so angles are much easier. On top of that it is an 8" one vs the 6" so these eyes like it better.

Arguments: A woman always gets the last word. Always. If a man says something after that, it is just a start of a new argument.

Good afternoon all on this glorious sunny Sunday.
Francine. I do believe we have not met before. Hello. A coffee and blueberry muffin please.

I shall stay in the Diner a little while and watch the world go by. Later take a look at the train room.

Former Rothwell Railway carriages painted in Lancashire & Yorkshire Railway colours seen at Clarence Dock Station.
The real carriages were in a poor state when the L&Y took over them and were not repainted or lasted long. Modeller's licence says otherwise. :)

I can’t remember getting the last word in. Married 47 and together 52 years I’ve just never learned. Even when I say “fine, u got the last word in” there is always a follow up. That’s usually when it dawns on me to keep my mouth shut.

Geesh, replying to my own thread ... again!

I forgot. Jake is doing well. His feet have grown to twice what they were a couple of weeks ago. Gonna see a length burst first, then height. Landmines have gone down and he is pretty much going outside to do his business. No doggie door yet but has been watching the other animals use it so just a matter of time.

Also, was planning on a garage/shop this spring/summer but decided not as the costs are almost double and an half of what it would have been pre Brandon. Still planning the chicken house as that can be some $$$ coming in to Maria. We have seen young laying hens go for $25+ around here and it really does not cost much to get them there. Besides, miss the fresh eggs. $14+ at the store for 5 dozen right now.

Good morning Crew and Francine please till noon all the liquid refreshments are on me…

I won the lottery last night!!! I had the Powerball and 2 numbers on the line. A huge $7.00 win which is the biggest win I have had in years. The fact it cost $10 means nothing as the lottery folks still call it a win, so let’s celebrate.

A good day yesterday as the Badger Women#2 in the NCAA rankings beat #5 Minnesota 4-0 on campus. A well played game on both sides. Today we are heading south about 55 minutes to see the grandson’s game today in Monroe. Home of the Swiss Colony if that rings a bell for any of you. One of the first shop by mail food (cheese) and gift companies in the world. I wasn’t planning this but Terry wants to see him play. There will be no train show for me today…

The other thing model railroaders might know about Monroe, Wi. The ethanol plant Badger State Ethanol, was used as the model for the Walthers ethanol series of buildings 20 + years ago. Almost building for building

enjoy the day

Your way is pretty much how my wife makes it. She does add a can of dark red kidney beans.

Its good on the night we have it, but seems to taste so much better the second day!
My wife uses dry kidney beans in her chili. I love kidney beans, they are the best, but for chili dogs the smaller pinto beans do well. I only whip up my quick Chili (under an hour) for my Grandson, Ayden to have Chili dogs. His favorite food, Chili dogs with jalapenos and cheese. Jameson, my oldest Grandson's favorite is my home-made French fries. My boys have good taste!

I agree, like many things, Chili is always better the next day.

Agreed goulash stew also better 2nd day
Ask a Hungarian and most will tell you Goulash is soup, my wife for one. Yes, it is always better the next day!

My Mom made what she called Goulash. Campbells tomato soup, ground beef and elbow macaroni, I liked it! I didn't know better until my Hungarian wife made Goulash. My Mom was a single mother that often worked two or three jobs. I was glad she had time to make anything. My Mom made the best Sour Beef and Dumplings, when she had time.

Forget Chili, we could have another food debate about Goulash. Almost every Hungarian family has their own recipe. The meat used could be Lamb or Pork or Beef even Chicken! When you order Goulash in a Hungarian restaurant it depends on what city you are in. Budapest is usually Lamb. Kecskemet is Pork or Beef, or even Venison! My wife uses Beef because she says American Beef is much tastier than Hungarian Beef.
