Good morning from home in Wisconsin. Yesterday was a stay at home and relax day. Almost worked out that way but ended up with the daughter’s family picking me up for dinner out. Friday night in Wisconsin is traditionally a fish fry night. No fish fry where we went last night.

I did have a wonderfully rich and tasteful Shrimp Ravoli with a heavy Red Pepper Cream and some garlic bread. It was excellent. Along with a 10oz glass of New Glarus’s Spotted Cow beer I expected my glucose monitor readings to be off the chart last night. 106 when I left the house at 5:15, 165 at 7:45 when I got home and 111 at midnight pillow time and 121 at the 6am wake up. That’s pretty good for a diabetic trying to manage who took the night off from managing…

Presidents taking documents. Both are F…ing idiots. What possible of motives could they have had? Just stupidity…

I will have another stay at home day. The tentative plan is really no plan. I will decide next weekend if I join Terry on Maui or stay home for another week. Then decide again. I have an Orthopedic appointment 3/7 for the doctor to check out the knee. Anything beyond 10 days on Maui drives me crazy. Boring… But, I think I can handle 3weeks since I’ll be bored at home too.

I did walk in the pool this morning for 20 minutes. I feel fine. Going to do it again around noon. The rehab has started.

I don't know if anybody else caught it on the news, but a small twin engine jet attempted to make an emergency landing on the interstate a couple hours South of here yesterday. Unfortunately, the emergency landing became a crash when the plane hit a vehicle as it was landing. Last update I got was 3 people were killed, there were 5 occupants on the plane. The plane suffered a dual engine failure, and it was trying to glide to the local airport when the pilot saw he wasn't going to reach it. The plane was destroyed by the ensuing fire, though the engines seemed to be in place, so we may find out what happened there.
And less than ten minutes ago, I heard another twin engine small plane go overhead here, experiencing an emergency. I didn't hear a crash, and no sirens followed his passing overhead, so hopefully he made the airport. It's unsettling to be on the ground, and listening to both engines sputtering and backfiring, and hoping the thing stays in the air long enough to not crash. It's even worse to be onboard when this happens...

Good Morning All!

29F @ 82% and overcast. Weather guessers say near 40F later.

Terry: ...um... Good Job! or Good Job?

I suspect y'all remember Nina passing. Lizzy had been walking around pretty much with no purpose, looking in all the spots Nina used to haunt. So meet Jake:

10 weeks old and such a puppy. Lizzy hasn't bit him yet and is starting to do the 'play' routine. Good. Cats don't bother him even when he goes and tries to sniff them. Happy animal world again. Ya, we are gonna have land mines around the house for a week or so. Has been following Lizzy around but not through the doggie door yet.

Since tomorra is SB Sunday, Maria is gonna make 5 doz or so Deviled Eggs for the pot luck at the Legion. Ya, we will see if they get out of the house! I do not really have a choice for the winner, but I am getting tired of Mahones/Chiefs always being in the news. Just hope that it is a good game. Watch out, AB is gonna try to get normal folks to drink Bud Light again using a very expensive ad. We will see.

Think I figured out the air fryer and fresh chicken. We had drummers last night and I could have done 16 of them. My trick is to nuke them for 7 minutes before hitting the air fryer @390F for 14 minutes. SP&G with BBQ sauce ... fall off the bone yummy!

Morning all,

35° and cloudy, high later of 46°. Some possible light precipitation overnight, but not supposed to seriously get bad.

Working this morning on testing our backups in the cloud, and tests went better and faster than expected, but I still have to be here 4 hours. So I'm getting ahead for Monday.

Spent the day yesterday running errands with the wife. Tougher getting her to go anywhere as some of the meds and her knees make it hard to want to go anyplace. Still no real vacation plans yet.

I have been called to jury duty 4 times. Only once was I even in the pool to be selected. Defense lawyer stood and described the case as 2 friends drinking and one stabbed the other. He pointed at me and asked what I thought about the case, I simply said being drunk doesn't excuse your responsibility from your actions. He immediately the judge to excuse me.

Terry: Congrats on finding the new job so quickly. Hopefully they realize what they have and make use of your experience.

Sherrel: I try to avoid tickets anymore as well. Being under the effects of a migraine can be much like being under the influence. Probably a good thing he pulled me over.

Toot: Best wishes on your upcoming surgery. I know 2 people who had it done and one said they wished they had done it sooner.

Going to try to go to a localish train store that's only open on Saturdays after work. The local Hobby Town changed locations in the strip mall and no longer carry most of the train stuff they had in the old store, but if you want some stuffed animals....

Todd- The puppy is adorable!

Morning folks

Mother Nature's case of constipation must have at least temporarily abated. It's actually snowing this morning. 17F degrees.

My wife set a new record yesterday. On the floor three times. She bruised up her left hip really well but didn't break anything. Damn. The wheelchair is for sure coming in the not very distant future and that is going to take some rearrangement in the house. I don't see us as ever doing any more "entertainment" so the dining room table and chairs will be moving to second floor, along with some of the bedroom "stuff".

And a big hi to Jake. I have a soft spot for both aussies and border collies. My first dog was an aussie and she rated a dead tie with one of the border collies for the best dogs I have ever had. Both really great with cattle and way too smart. Good thing they didn't have opposable thumbs.

Will he get him a drink, and bring it to him?

I've seen videos of dogs that have been trained to do that.
No, but he gets his own food and eats it--whether he's supposed to or not. He's made himself sick a couple of times doing this. They had to put a baby lock on the fridge door to keep him out.
Of course, that doesn't stop him from opening the bathroom door and joining you when you're on the throne.

Beagles are ranked 141st in intelligence. My old Beagle Tucker can't open doors. I must leave the bathroom door open, or he will scratch at the door and whine. My wife keeps a nice clean and very plush soft rug in front of the vanity for him to rest on as he waits for me.

Beagles are intelligent, but rankings are based on obedience. Beagles are hardheaded, hunters that follow their nose!

When Tucker was young, he was an escape artist. I can't tell you how many times he escaped from our yard. He could escape from a tight harness! I used to call him Houdini. He never went far, just hunting a trail. Beagles are great at learning from experience. He once tracked down a Pitbull that attacked him and nearly killed him. He hasn't left our yard since.

Afternoon All,

Currently 77F and partly cloudy. Supposed to be in the 80's the next couple of days. I'm still dealing with the crud but feel slightly better. In the train room I mounted the diesel and generator on the F22 and will finish the 44 Tonner engine pull scene tomorrow. After that I will get back into the building build.

Louis- The Paranoid BS album was the first LP I purchased as a teenager. I won't tell you what my Dad said the first time I played it.

Karl- There are numerous LZ songs that I like than Stairway.

Terry- Congrats on the new job. I hope you enjoy it (as much as you can at work).

Joe- Terrific photo.

Guy- That photo "feels" cold to me!

Bill- Nice photo.

Willie- Nice job on the truck and Coco Club scene.

Todd- Congrats on the new addition. The blue eyes are striking.

Grizzled- I wish you the best with the falling after going through it with my Mom several years ago.

One of my dobermans jumped my mother in laws fence tried digging under to help theother dog, gave up when hit gravel and wandered off luckily she had a name tag and was reported to the police when I checked, 3 roads away she was shivering under a header and too scared to come out to the woman who not having a dog had put out milk and bread to try and encourage her to come out, she saw me dashed out at speed, the woman was by her sink watching the dog was okay and was happy her mum had tracked her down and happy her call to the police had had results she had also called a dog place but not one I had tried, one exhausted dobermann did not rejump the fence either. Luckily she did not eat the milk and bread not good for hedgehogs either they too prefer tinned dog meat.

Good afternoon ALL!!!!

Flo, you made my heart skip a beat when I walked in! :)
Speaking of excitement, could I please get the new item on the menu?
It's the mega meatloaf sandwich, with steak fries, truck stop gravy and a large Coke a Cola.
I'm thinking a small order of coleslaw on the side too please.
Is it okay if I sit at the counter?
