Mike, you are 90 miles +/- south of me. I am not looking forward to the rain turning to ice. Winds right now are out of the northeast. But radar is showing multiple fronts moving in on us. Winter is so interesting…

Yep, I'm about 65 miles or so straight south of Rockford off of I-39.

Has been an interesting winter so far! I bet total snowfall this year at less than 10". I should research the least snowfall record for our area, I bet we would be close to breaking it. Though winters not over yet!

Afternoon All,

Started out with a walk at 61F and it's supposed to get in the 80's today. Working on the ladders today was a disaster. I broke 3 ladders while using the provided jig. At this point I was beyond frustrated. I ended up ordering ladders online to replace the resin ones. Not happy. Later we're going out for Thai with daughter and SIL.

Thank you for the photo likes yesterday.

Joe- Love the dirt and grime on 4243.

Sherrel- Feel better soon.

Jaz- Circumstances changed. MOH had a sewing room and I was given the loft for a layout.

Troy- Good luck with the planning and $$$. Slot cars were fun. Do you remember the combo slot car and train sets?

Willie- Great looking interior.

Christian- I look forward to seeing your progress on the layout now that you have a permanent track plan.

Jeff- Good luck.

I hope everyone has a good night.

Here is a picture of their repair. I'm mad at myself for paying someone else to do waht I was going to do... but thought my solution was amateurish...

Insult to injury... They charged me $33 for each Shark Bite fitting. Home Depot has 8 in stock right now for $13.67.

At least they didn't charge me for that piece of scrap PEX.

$110 for labor... I guess so. I mean... it probably took longer to let the water drain out of the pipes than it did to effect the repair, so perhaps it took longer than I imagine.

I HATE paying people to do things I can do... Here I thought I was going to get a better solution that shark bite fittings and some scrap PEX... Maybe that's my issue... expecting something better than I would have done, LOL!

I have replaced almost all of my copper and PVC with PEX. Sad that even copper just lasted 40 years here.

Just found out my 2014 Sonata with 95000 miles and still under warranty, needs a new engine. WTF!
My Soul with the same engine had to get it replaced at 79k.
The replacement engine always “moaned” at around 2000rpm. Kia said they wouldn’t worry about it. I wouldn’t worry, either, if it was somebody else’s engine sounding like it was demonically possessed…

My wife is amazing! She made the best fresh fish fillets, mashed potatoes, green beans, and spinach!

I feal guilty, I love seafood so much it is no sacrifice for Lent.

I'm hoping for salmon cakes for Friday.

When you bring up Salnon cakes it takes me back. My MIL made the best salmon cakes with fried potato's and onions, and creamed peas for lent. Unfortunately it was one of the recipe's my wife didn't get before her passing. We have tried several time to replicate, but cant make them near as good.

My wife made chocolate chip pancakes topped with strawberries tonight for Lent.

For lunch we had the Filet-o-Fish☹️
