Good early midwest afternoon. Our high for the day was hit at 11AM and we have been going downward since.

Purchased a new refrigerator this morning as the one we have is starting to trend downward. Hit up Best Buy after pouring over reviews again of the best for 2022/2023. Since we will be here awhile we got a decent not crazy expensive one. Stayed away from LG and Samsung and got a Bosch. Didn’t realize Best Buy has $15,000 refrigerators but we stayed away from that end of the appliance area. As we were walking out, she asked, where next? Michael’s we went to… florist wire for tree making. More paint pens for graffiti creating and tacky glue because the big bottle I had dried out. All in all a good morning.

Lunch and then to the work bench

How’s ers 700 after you pay the mortgage

so we are looking at

house insurance
water in drinking
water out sewage
water land if applicable
do you count electricity
or gas
or wood
local taxes

where we are every weekend I am hearing chainsaw and woodcutters as those with open fire or woodburners are cutting wood to replace bought in fuel,we never had this previously and we are as bad.
I have to call my wood guy and see what I can get from him? We have barely kept the thermostat at 70-72 during the day and 68 at night. I have been freezing! Wife his enjoying it!
Just received our latest natural gas bill: We used less gas than prior, but bill went up $100?
I have no idea what is going on - I bought 1000 shares of UNG around $18 ... it has declined to less than $9 during the last 2 months. I SMELL A RAT! 🤬😡

3 places SWMBO always agrees to go to, Home Depot, Taco Bell and Michael's

Afternoon All,

Started out with a morning walk at 57F and currently at 80F. Started with a couple of chores then continued with the build. Today I worked on the 4 small wood walking sections on the roof. I added the handrails. On the end pieces I had to add wire to modify the existing one (in directions). After that I added "metal stiffeners" under the overhanging ends of the car length walkway. Tomorrow, it appears that I will be chauffeuring MOH to several stores.

James- I hope things go well for you.

Smudge- Nice looking light towers.

Willie- The sidewalk looks very good. Maybe you can mix concrete and aged concrete for the color?

Karl- It would have to be either a wild 🦨 or a political 🦨 to smell. Domestic 🦨 are descented and have no smell.

The 4 short walking boards are only sitting on the top for the photo and won't be glued down until the ladders are mounted.

I hope everyone has a good night.

I've a Kibri small tank farm which is next on my list of builds to do, but it's a German Model and all the signage for it is in German, not really suitable for a US industrial area, does anyone know where I could get US decals that would work, a Company Logo, warning signs etc?

/reading my mind, are you? I was wondering if we were goiong to see more "tree making".
Sherrel

I have to count but there are 50 completed 6” trees and there should be 200 armatures already twisted into the trunk and branch structure. I have to check the height breakdown on what I have. Until last night though, I had no requests for quote.

I have a request for 400-6” trees, 200-7” trees 200-5” tree and 200 bushes to be sent out 100 at a time by Labor Day. This is a return customer like every 2 years. This would be per Terry’s record keeping his 4th and smallest order.

I have to price out the job because material prices for just the wire are more then double the price of the last purchase. I have enough fiber cloth and Scenic Express leaves but I have none of the Woodland Scenics grasses that I use. Those prices are up, but the really LHS (4miles) doesn’t have the colors I need and his WS stuff he claims has been back ordered 6 weeks already. Tacky glue is up. So, the paddles of wire were available at Michael’s but not the spools that are a better value. I have plenty of candle wax for the trunks and branches. Heck, even the $1.00 bottles of hairspray are $1.25 at the Dollar Tree now. I use 2-3 bottles per 100 trees. I may try something out of the airbrush for gluing the leaves

I can’t fathom not increasing at least $1.50 to $2.50 per tree. A 6” tree costing $7.50 per tree, nope I wouldn’t buy my own tree.

My pricing was 4” for $3.00 each, 5” for $4, 6” for 5, $7 for 7 on up. Volume pricing was better but not much…

So you may or not see some tree making from me. I did see the other day a thread on tree making that looked superb.

Don’t sell out tho, when our female prime minister scared the market our pensions took a nose dive, she got kicked out, the rich git got in, and surprise surprise the market he has cash in went back up ftse 100 is higher price on record, you need to look carefully at the market, the sector, where it had cash, sometimes holding is better, but we have had 3 shares collapse on us so my advice is not guaranteed, he once.mAde 18k by watching soneobe buying up shares, when they dec, ared they were not buying the company he sold out,the price then gently settled down we sold out almost at the top spot, still he dyslexically once bought a pup, oops and it nose dived, amazingly 25 years later they still exist.
2 shares that are always stagnant actually do good dividends, producing a nice returns. but 2000 we vashed the lot out, just before the market nose dived,we pushed the cash elsewhere then invested a lot of it in this house. we do a pension because he pays in peanuts and his company matches it with another 90 percent, yay. I let him run the cash he has a good nose for trends and likes to research. plus let’s be fair he earns it.
wood 1m3 = 115 pounds 🇬🇧 uk
we use 1 a week so 445 (you get a 5 each load if delivered together) per month
we watch our solar like a hawk and suck it up when ever it appears
but as we have trees we harvest branches so the trees can regrow and as we did not use to keep it tidied we have a lot of dead wood that dried fast this winter saving us cash, nest winter u doubt we will need to buy in any , cross fingers,
and as we get fits feed in tariff we have an income for what we produce what we use what we export, the initial investment was gulp, but with the massive increase in prices it is proving a major benefit, and the income offsets the winter usage quite nicely despite the paltry amount they pay us.
we should do biogas, we have the manure the IBCs the water the pipes the solar pump we even have an lpg cooker but I ts a lot of faffing about I suspect if he ever loses his job that will become a top priority as it’s a diy he has worked out how to do. They do it successfully in the third world and yet there is no benefited to doing in the us uk, I suspect the gas the electricity companies would blow a blood vessel.

Check the websites at:

circuscitydecals.com
microscale.com

They are 2 producers I have purchased from but not sure if they have a decal sheet that would work for you. There are other decal makers out there but other than the 2 above and Pdc.ca I haven’t dealt with them.

You might try printing your own signs on paper and gluing them to pieces of styrere. Warning signs should be available to copy and paste all over the Internet. I always spray the signs that I print with dull coat to keep them from fading. Oil company logos can be taken from their own websites. You might have to resize.

I can try that, could work but these signs are things like "No Smoking", "Authorised Personnel Only" etc. that you find next to doors, so in HO that's really small. And a large company name or logo that you see on the side of a oil refinery storage tank like the ones at West Texas Storage Depot.

Microscale have something like what I'm after, but signs like No Smoking or Authorised Personnel Only they don't have, but I'll check out circuscity, thanks.

Hello everyone, I was just wondering about locomotives and "speed matching". Now, I don't want to speed match locomotives that I already own, but I was wondering if two new locomotives, RTR Dash 9s, from the same run, bought at the same time, would be speed matched enough to run together on DC.

Highball graphics is another.

Yes they should. If they are off a little break them in running them for a bit in both directions, then have them pull a heavy load around. They should be good after that.
