Sherrel- Interesting photo. Why did you switch back to your old avatar? Inquiring minds want to know! :D
CURT - I guess that CHRISTIAN constantly changing finally got to me! I don't know?
I guess that I was looking for something to do and I could not find my previous SNOOPY one?
That photo was snapped at a restaurant in Paris, France - fun times and happier days!

Yesterday, I watched several U-tube thingy's on the B-70 bomber and it's crash - what a tragic story!
Back in the 60's during my B-727 days- I was caught in the vortex of a B-707 we were trailing 4-5 miles while descending into Los Angeles at an altitude of 16,000 feet. IT flipped the 727 almost 60 degrees both left and right! Talk about your butt biting the seat!

I still have several pages to catch up on. TOMO - hope your bride starts to feel better and does not follow your example!

I am still suffering from my back hurting and the Shingles vax injection and spent most of yesterday in the bed.
I swear that I am going to shy away from ALL vaxes from now on. Every one that I have had in the last 3-4 years has made me sick!
Later gator!

Interesting but that won’t happen.

The USA is within its rights to shoot it down in its territory but doing so in another country becomes an International incident. Besides South American countries have their own air forces to take it down IF THEY want.

I’m just wondering if this isn’t another diversion to get us away from Taiwan?

A sinister plot? I am up for a good conspiracy theory…
Well conspiracy wise, I wonder if it can mess with your weather, so an actual weather balloon.

I have never seen this avatar before and I think it perfect. Snoopy was fun for the pilot, and I liked Charlie the dog, but the wife gets my vote totally

Good Morning All. Mist/drizzle and 43° here. During the last 24 hours, 0.4" has gathered in the rain gauge. Weather geeks are still claiming that heavy thunderstorms are coming, but I just don't see it yet on the radar. The National Weather Service is continuing their 2022 trend of missing with their forecasts much of the time. They did get the ice storm right last week, just not the severity of it. It's not supposed to get much warmer until tomorrow morning when the clouds break and the sun returns; but only for one day.
Anyone else noticed how much busier the whole forum has been lately? I have been having a tough time keeping up with all of the new threads and postings. I find myself being 3 or 4 days late in responding or viewing some threads like the RPO or the weathering thread.

Ran the Roomba vacuum cleaner around the house yesterday, in preparation for my wife to come home today. Mostly it wasn't needed except by the back door where I tracked debris in that stuck to my wet shoes.

Out in the train shed yesterday, I took up some track at the south end of the Ethanol refinery and started to redo some of it. The way it was originally laid just wasn't right for what it is intended to do now. There was an S-curve that made it hard to navigate, and there really wasn't enough room for the propane tanks where intended. So I removed a turnout and re-aligned the track. Not yet finished and no in-progress pictures. I still need to cut and install a ~5" piece of track to complete.
I don't really have anything new to post here, so I will re-post some pictures of a small Downtown Deco Hydrocal liquor store called Cooter's Liquor.

Since I got up earlier, we've had thunder and a little rain, not much but I don't wish to walk out and check the gauge again. The Weather Underground station down the road says 0.9" since midnight. Radar shows continued rain, but much lighter for a couple more hours. Meanwhile I had to start a fire in the wood-burning heater a little while ago.

Everybody have a great day.
Love the character in the brick work and aging

Unfortunately the US is one of the few countries that has what could be considered open train tracks. In the UK our train tracks are fenced off, and pretty much always have been, as their private property and belong to the Railway Company
And despite the large fines for trespassing, people still faff about and end up 💀dead

https://www.networkrail.co.uk/runni...fter-the-railway/delays-explained/fatalities/
their statistics say 4 percent plus on 2019/20 were suicides
i remember once in London a woman jumped in front of a train pushing a pushchair and dragging a small child with her, the place was cordoned off, gossip was she died so did the baby the newspaper next day inferred the other child was probably alive but not doing well.

On the other hand one time. Going into London our train failed to stop at the end of platform and mounted it, again all stopped…well half of the first carriage did, we were asked to remain, saw people off the first carriage taken away on stretchers with neck braces…said it was precautionary, we were not going fast but definitely felt the carriage in front jump, must have been scary for those in that coach

Btw
I now have the full set for this wall, will do the baddy on the adjacent but first finish these unless I get bored :D

I'd bet my next paycheck that the instruments on that balloon could be used for meteorological data gathering. And on the surface, it probably looks and acts like that's all it's doing. But under the covers, there is a more sinister intent that is not readily apparent.
They are looking for Bigfoot and his ability to disappear and appear. Some say he can be invisible at times. The Chinese are watching too much American tv on people who go out in the woods looking for him. A balloon is much easier and covers more ground, and of course if a military base pops up on the way they can look at that too. 👣

Afternoon All,

Started out in the train room this morning. I started by drilling 24 hand/foot holes on the 2 ends with a #79 bit. After that I sorted through the hand/foot grabs and set aside the ones that I needed. One thing of concern is that 2 hand grabs had to come from my stash. The ones provided in the kit weren't long enough. After that I had to stop since the entire time, I had to wear magnifying glasses and they give me a headache. Tomorrow I hope to glue the grabs in place.

Chet- Great photos.

Troy- That's funny. I would be more concerned if it was Rocky. :D

Chad- Very impressive. How did you acquire all the ability to do what you're doing?

Smudge- Stuff like that happens to everyone at some point.

Willie- Cooter's looks great.

I hope everyone has a good night.

Good afternoon. A nice sunny day for a change so I loaded the girls up in the car and went to the car wash. AllI have to say to them is "Ride" and they're ready to go. Stopped at a park and let them explore for a while before heading home.

Curt
- Dis find your videos. Waiting for an update. I really enjoyed you "cab ride" video on the old layout.

Willie - There's probably not enough room in Cooter's to change your mind. Good photo.

Chad - That basement doesn't look like much has been done with it during my absence. Weather?

Wombat457
- Nice to see you in here again. Been a while.

Going to cut it short, post a few photos and get out of here.

LATER

Good evening fellow bo's and hoboetts. We awoke to 70° with a slight breeze. Currently 50° with winds gusting to 20 mph. Forty's over night. It was predicted to rain today, so I mowed. yesterday. First mowing for 2023. Mostly weeds.
I did get some train watching and some switching in today.
I thought I'd throw something a little different out there tonight.

I'm trying to hook up my new motorola edge 5g uw android phone to my PC because it has a much better camera. Anyone out there have any advice on this. It's not going so well.
Swal
Download "Phone Link" app to your PC, found in MS Store.
It may give you a QRL to scan with your phone, or you can to the Play Store and download "Link to Windows"
Both have pretty easy directions for linking you phone and PC
