Andy Reid gets my vote for MVP! He made effective use of the long half time to find a way to outwit the Philly defense! Old guys know some stuff!

I'm still trying to figure out why Philly did not run more often. They dominated the line of scrimmage on offense almost every time they did run. Young guy outwitted himself?

Field goals - that's why they call it football.
Just the opposite about last year’s Super Bowl. People questioned why McVay stuck with the run game when it was obvious that Cincy was shutting it down(23-43). He did it to make them think about the Rams possibly running the ball, which enabled Stafford to use play action.

Karl - So glad you stayed away from LG and Samsung. Smart move. Won't get into the BS I had to put up with on my LG appliances which had to be replaced.
You can add Frigidare to that list. I bought a free-standing freezer, microwave, dishwasher, electric stove and free-standing refrigerator in a premium style when we built the house 5 years ago. Freezer coolant lines leaked and repaired under warranty. Stove had oven heating element replaced in warranty. Replaced appliances out of warranty , the refrigerator (compressor leak) and microwave (poor door interlock design). Non-warranty replacement of water pump in dishwasher. Not happy with Frigidare, even though I have a 35 yo freezer in the garage for ice, pizza and bread storage.

Talking about speed matched locomotives again, I have two WalthersMainline sd70ace locomotives that I've had for about a year now, they are DC and run pretty good together. Does anyone know if they would run good with an Athearn Genesis DC Sd70ace? Or would they be too different to run together smoothly?
Most likely no. Different motors and or drives will cause the to run differently. Try you never know though.

Blimmy! A new record low temperature was set at 29 degrees last night - the prior low was 30 degrees back in 2008! It has been a cold but sunny day for around here

In spite of my dismal investment in the natural gas ETF - today finished with being within $267 of what I started the year with and I have sold call options on the stock, but I want to be careful not to let the options get "called" away. It will take over a year if the ETF does not recover, but slowly rolling the options time after time for the premium will work.
I am a happy camper but now need to work on getting back the 12% loss in the overall account from last year.

The Spousal Unit has been busy with last minute details on accomplishing items on the closing of the MIL's ranch house. I still hate to see it go, but I am too far in my sunset years to accomplish the repairs and remodels that SWMBO would want done. She has a "knack" of picking out the most expensive item on the rack! I told her that the other day when we were out -she laughed and said - "When I was 15, looking at a collection of swimsuits and my father was with me, he looked around the selection and remarked that I had chosen the most expensive one there"! I said: "Well, you still have that touch".
Well she knows quality and she chose you.

When I re-did the review of best refrigerator of 2022/2023 yesterday before we went to purchase it plainly said stay away from LG and Samsung. Turns out besides all the myriad of problems the refrigerator has, neither has a repair network.

We had Wolf appliances in the last place we built. One of the compressors leaked and they were there that afternoon. The repair was handled, he cleaned up and did a great job. Even premium machines have issues and I think we all understand that. It’s how they handle the repairs that mean so much.

Good evening. 55° and cloudy. rain is expected near daybreak through 2PM. The Cat has a Vets appointment at 1330 tomorrow, which will most likely preclude a walk once the rain stops. Speaking of walking, we managed 1.01 miles today, on the Belmar boardwalk, walking from 10th Ave to 3rd Avenue and back to 10th. I have a chart for boardwalks at Belmar, Spring Lake and Sea Girt, so it's easy to compute distance walked.
Still tracking daily weight, BP and Heart Beats.

Still going up into the 60s tomorrow, then cooling off Saturday and Sunday. News media confirmed that what we saw the other day at Sea Girt were whales, near the Manasquan Inlet.

Good morning those with working fridges, and those with Samsung ice makers

It's Troy again.

First: Fridges. We brought our Frigidaire side by side back to Indiana from California. Gave it to the daughter to upgrade her condo. I love that fridge. Second we've owned of the line.

Our condo came with a Samsung French Door, that has the ice maker in the fridge, and dumps out the upper door. Chest freezer is in a drawer underneath the fridge part.

DO NOT get a fridge with an ice maker hiding in the fridge part (and not in the freezer part). Check out any appliance repair vid on french door fridges. †hey universally pan the Samsung french door line. The units are not sealed well enough, and the ice makers frost up fast.

We were having to defrost it manually every two months MONTH. The ice maker... not the fridge/freezer. that was an all-day thing. Even with the hair-dyer method of blasting the ice wrapped around the auger and the cooling coils.

We finally purchased a countertop ice maker, and keep a tub in our freezer drawer. Way easier to do that than have to defrost the ice maker.

In other news, wording the words, but got a bunch of projects off the painting table. Need to clear coat them today. But I feel like I got stuff accomplished.

There were two more units of these dwarf gunners. Oh and these stout lads with big hammers for knocking some sense into those pesky orcs.

Ever try the repair clinic. They show videos on how to repair and parts to buy.
No, I haven't. Actually he was in to do warranty work on a Whirlpool appliance and saw our LG dryer; and remarked that their company (which primarily sells appliances) won't sell or work on LG products. I have never had an issue with the dryer, but I have had problems with several LG window air conditioners. I do about 80% of my appliance repair myself because of the premium charged for coming out to the boonies. Many times this guy has come out, diagnosed the issue (the hard part for me), ordered the part for me to install, thus saving the expense of a second visit.

I do my own repairs also. I look on youtube and see how they come apart. They will also show how to factory reset and or how to get the codes to tell you what is wrong. I repaired my 1992 Kenmore dryer that way with a $50 kit.
