In the short term, I can see battery powered yard switchers / local power, not getting too far from a charging station. Road power traveling over great distances, is another issue. even if the batteries have sufficient charge for a normal run between two end points, enroute problems that result in substantial delay could cause a complete breakdown and domino effect.

Uncle Pete has the resources and traffic density to electrify their main trunk routes, but I doubt that investors share the desire to spend capital on such a venture. The less diesel exhaust that a crew has to breathe in, the better. Hope this works.
Dog and pony show it will fail......they got subsidies for this purchase.....definitely doomed. They need to do what Canada is doing with hydrogen.
James I'm glad you alerted me to this. I was thinking about buying some stock in Caterpillar who owns the company Progress Rail that makes the locos.Dog and pony show it will fail......they got subsidies for this purchase.....definitely doomed. They need to do what Canada is doing with hydrogen.
Don't worry they have an engine and and generator to charge the batteries.n the short term, I can see battery powered yard switchers / local power, not getting too far from a charging station. 200 feet is not a ravine, it's a valley here! Hope that he was OK.A guy did a "Dukes of Hazzard" over an embankment down into a ravine holy man what a ride. The drop was a good 200 feet. They had all kinds of responders there for that.
Probably don't read English too well. Finally my order from Model Scenes arrived from the Czech Republic. I was a little worried about my first time order from Model Scenes since I never received a order confirmation, nor did they answer my emails.
Thank you Steve, Have you been putting some honey in the tea today?Man, that's a nice ROW, Gary!!
It is still recommended for regular cleaning though, correct?do not use mineral spirits to clean the track.
