Watching railfanning in the comfort of my home on Youtube came across a grain train that was filmed on Jan 27,2022. In the unit train had 2 Family Lines 4750 hoppers that still had the L&N reporting marks. I have one 4750 painted and planed on decaling it Family Lines but now I'll add the L&N instead of the CSX. This one was the better of the two.

Ordered two guitars off Aliexpress.com for my daughter. They may be crap or they may be ok. The goal is to use them as project guitars and see how they are made and make them better. Practice so that I can copy them in my own woodshop (for my own and family use, not a business). I've made some bass guitars (own designs) but not a normal guitar. My daughter liked the Les Paul dragon motif one (see below) and I liked the headless and want an example to play with before I try designing my own. We'll see how it works. The headless should ship as soon as they stop partying for Chinese new Year by Fedex. The other is coming slow boat -- supposedly in April.

A similar thing happened to me with the IRS. For over a month I was on the phone over 10 min each time being transferred, entering numbers, being transferred again, and ultimately get a message to call back tomorrow.

Ready to blow up after 4 attempts with same result.

Ultimately my congressional representative was contacted, and 4 months later I got my check (Please just send it, or better yet direct deposit)

Congressional office was rude, too

I've definitely considered contacting our Congress critter but haven't done it yet. After doing a little more research, I'm thinking we aren't going to have to do anything but it sure would be nice to actually get confirmation of that from the agency that sent it to us.

Sitting at home tonight listening to the wind blow and occasionally hearing ice hitting the windows and side of the house. Snowmageddon 2022 has officially begun, but the actual snow probably won't start until sometime overnight. Right now it's freezing rain coming down covering everything in ice. Probably going to stay home from work tomorrow unless things are a whole lot better than predicted.

Just to CYA send them a letter, certified, enclosing a photocopy of the letter you are replying to. Explain the situation.

This just CYA to show you were responsive and trying to solve the problem, just in case they really mean it and it is not just their various systems getting out of sync.

I know there's some Gibson knock offs guitars made in China that are high quality at 1/4 the price. You can even order it with the Gibson trademark on the guitar. Once this happens your unable to tell the knock off for the real thing.

Good Evening All. Late for me, I am usually in bed by now. Right now it's 32° and what's being referred to as a wintry mix is falling outside. It's rain and freezing rain to me. Ironically the temperature has risen from 30° at 6:00 pm earlier! Still supposed to drop to 18° overnight.

I had some visitors earlier this evening, probably looking for "Shelter from the Storm" in my barn. Picture taken before any precipitation had started.

It's a small herd of young feral hogs that seem to be separated from the adults in the herd. I counted 12 of 'em. After this shot, I unintentionally scared them off back south to the creek in that tree row in the background. These critters appear to be in the 30-45 pound range; their parents that we see occasionally (though not as close to our house) are in the 250-300 pound range.

Good Night.

Until customs seizes it. Yes the knockoffs can be pretty good (heck the name brands make certain of their lines in China -- probably the same factories as selling the knockoffs 🤣 ) but if they are fraudulently marking them with brand names they are likely to be seized by customs. I made sure that none of these are the ones that break copyright and are at risk of seizure.

For example last year:

Today, should have been a great day...It was mild...51° mild....and we were able to pick up my Rx plus a good price on Tylenol at the Pharmacy, then went to the Warehouse store, where we found everything on our list, (plus), and gassed up the car at $314 / gal. (Retail is $340 / gal average).

Problem was I developed this really bad mood, and little things irritated me to no end. I also managed to piss the wife off....And she's been quite crabby of late, herself.

Speaking of dangerous fires, today is the 44th anniversary of my own little piece of Hell. Known as the Wade Dump fire, it involved a tire recycling plant, that moonlighted as a disposal point for all sorts of industrial chemical waste, some dumped into the ground others stored inside in 55 gallo drums. It was very cold, near Zero with high winds out of the Northwest. Total respose was about 200 firefighters, both career and volunteer, plus police, and public works. Fortunately it was away from populated neighborhoods, but adjacent to Natural Gas storage tanks that were filled to insure winter supply and pressure were maintained. I was on location, for at least 10 hours, before I was treated for exposure at a local hospital. at least 40% of those involved developed strange cancers, and other auto immune diseases from their exposure. We didn't really know what we were getting in to...it was supposed to be rubber tires. I was fortunate, to have the wind at my back, so while I felt the heat, the fumes were being carried away from me. Most survivors were on my exposure...

Many of the faces in this montage prematurely passed as a result of their exposure, some survived, others not pictured were also victims and survivors. I knew most of these men and women, some were acquaintances, others close friends.

Ironically, Today was the funeral of the three Baltimore City Firefighters, who Lost their lives when the floor of a vacant row house collapsed while they were operating inside the building...

It never gets any easier...Rest Easy Brothers and Sister, We have it from here.

I never knew about the feral pig problem Texas has until the son moved to Austin. They sure can cause crop and land damage

Good morning Everybody!

Just a chilly rain here in southeast Baltimore. Be safe in all that winter mess others are dealing with.

Boris, my nephew is in the Baltimore City Fire Department. He was injured when a floor collapsed under him several years ago. My Mom recognized him being carried out of the building as she was watching the news. He now has plates and screws in his back, but he still works full time. A Fire mens job can be a gravy job, until it's not. God bless all of our public servants who risk their lives for us.

Willie, my wife wants to visit Texas, I'm glad she came to Baltimore first! 😉

That is all the time I have.

Have a great day Everybody!

We have a clock where on the hour the bikes start their motors, and they move out of the garage. I was playing golf with a friend telling him about it and he said, I'll give you $125.00 for it right now without even seeing it. I said, no.

I wonder how big a rasher of bacon would be, plus it’s likely wild food not fed on gmo corn, they do look sweet, not a favour of maple syrup on my bacon I hope they don’t drink the sap. Plus not likely to mow you down if you try to turn them into breakfast, Some of the big ones tend to have a nasty glint in their eye.

Very under appreciated work. sorry for your losses, and the cloud that hangs over those who survived to date.

Good Morning all. 15 degrees in the Ozark Foothills with 6” of snow and still coming down suppose to get round 10 or more when it’s done. I’ll be getting the old Allis Chalmers WD out after while to clear the driveway. Here’s a Missouri Pacific O27 I did this Fall. Stay warm and safe
