Afternoon All,

Spent about 4.5 hours working on the back-office roof and still have about an hour to go. I was just thinking about it, and I probably have 10 hours of just putting shingles on this build, but I do like the look much better than rolled roofing.

Thank you for all the likes on my photos yesterday.

Hughie- Thanks for the info. Nice layout shot. The lighting is awesome.

Terry- Big surprise about work. I saw the fire on the national news last night.

Karl- It's always something isn't it? Nice photo of your son.

Tom- Great looking loads.

Lee- I'm glad it finally worked out for you. Another neat trailer.

Ken (IL)- Don't get me started about the damn IRS.

George- Neat clock. My SIL would love that.

I hope everyone has a good night.

We have a clock where on the hour the bikes start their motors, and they move out of the garage. I was playing golf with a friend telling him about it and he said, I'll give you $125.00 for it right now without even seeing it. I said, no.

I have a few clocks too. I have an old Iron clock my grandmother gave me its beautiful! From the late 1800's I will post it this weekend.

That lantern clock is really nice! Gorgeous! How old is that? 1800's? I know they originated in the 1500's and 1600's but man this is a nice piece!

EDIT:

That looks like a Victorian Striking Lantern Clock By Peerless Of England that would run about 4,500 to 6,500 bucks dude! That really is a nice piece!

James I looked but was never able to find this particular lantern clock. I ran the numbers on the back plate without any luck. I know the price range is from $225.00 to $4,000.00. Popular in England in the 1500's. Were outdated in the 1800's.

This piece I assure you it is worth more. My neighbor who is in his 80's is a clock & watch repairman and runs a store in Albany (has been for 55 years) So I been around antiques all my life my grandmother owned an antique store in Grangerville NY from 1962 until 1988 it was called the Swap Shop on Wall St.

I love this kind of stuff......my house is riddled with different antiques because of her......just love it!

A couple days ago I posted a couple different flex tracks, I have some better information to answer the questions:

IMG_1932.JPG

This is the picture (above). On the left is the Walthers. This is the package it came in:

IMG_1938.JPG

I bought it about a month ago

The track on the right is the Atlas 36" flex track

Atlas flex.JPG

Here is the back of the track with the name.

The Atlas ties are larger and the plastic is a little softer. There is a hole pre drilled in the center spaced evenly.

The Walthers ties are a little smaller and harder plastic. The pre drilled holes are smaller and they are actually in the tie plate. There are holes drilled in the bottom tie of the left track.

The Walthers shapes better because of all the predrilled holes, attachment points. Maybe the smaller ties also aid in forming the curves. Note these are not tight curves so not a problem here.

I am using the Atlas on the mainline because it looks slightly larger.

Hope this helps, Dave

Well, howdy there snowed in people and the rest of the world.

It's Troy again with a weather update.
Gawdzilla-01.jpg

I decided I'd put G'Norm the weather G'nome (always pronounce the Ga sound in Ga-nome. The G is very important to Ga-nomes) outside with some of his buddies. Unfortunately, this T-rex thing showed up. Rex (no need to pronounce the T, he doesn't care, since it stands for "Tiny") is only about 9 inches tall.

Well, Rex said he'd hold G'Norm and his buddies up out of the snow for the weather reports.

G'norm didn't look like he had a choice in the matter.

Anywho, G'norm said the snow was up to Rex's knees about two hours ago. When I looked out a few minutes ago, it was up to the bottom of G'norm's boots. I'd say about four inches, or just shy of that.

As for CLOCKS: The father-in-law saw how his older two kids (my wife is youngest of three) loved the Horse-Clock they had when the girls were young. He was going to get another, so each girl could have one when he died. But that never happened. So now, the two oldest girls are arguing over who gets the Horse Clock. Evidently the other is supposed to get the ceramic egg tray for devilled eggs. You know, the one with the depressions for eggs, and a ceramic chicken on it.

My wife, being the youngest, feels left out. But we don't eat deviled eggs, so no need for the egg tray. And she doesn't want to wrestle the older two for the horse clock.

I found more horse clocks on eBay. But the wife said no to purchasing anymore. It's just not the same as arguing about who gets the clock.
Oh, and none of the girls actually want the clock.
They're arguing that the OTHER girl should get it.
They really don't want the egg tray either.

G'Norm will be back later with more updates... unless Rex gets pecking in the meantime

Well, the new company fired the old owner, and management went from "okay" to "Supertool" in 24 hours.
I'm getting in touch with an acquaintance that hasn't sold out to Corporate America yet, and see if he wants me to come work for him. It'll require relocating to South Carolina if he does.

Good late afternoon Gobal modelers from Wisconsin. Our section of the state has missed the WGFA (snow) as it is hitting east and south of us. Just watched the TV guesser lamenting the fact we have missed all the great snow storms. The white gifts from above (WGFA) are not being missed by me.

The son in Austin is inside avoiding a strong heavy rain at 3 when I spoke to him. The ice starts later tonight for him. He figures he won’t venture out till late Friday afternoon. He says PTSD has hit his area of Texas over last year’s Valentine Day storm fiasco. His weekly Monday grocery order from Amazon Whole Foods usually is delivered today but was cancelled for being out of stock this morning. He stopped at HEB, the big grocery stores company in Texas, and said hardly any meats, veggies or paper products. Purchased a couple things but went for gas in Hornsby Bend near his house. Said more groceries there then at HEB, but lines at the pump.

I think if the coach Brian Flores who was fired by Miami is correct in his law suits and the facts are proven, the owners of Miami, NY Giants and Houston should be forced to sell. Does anyone really think Bill Bellicek accidentally included Flores into emails saying who got the NY Giants job 2 weeks before it was official. What a holy mess this can if true open up. Billionaires are different folks from us and don’t follow rules, anyone surprised?

I have 3 pulp cars with loads finally ready for shipping to Greg tomorrow. The last of 26 pulp cars weathered and sold and 20 of them with pulp loads. Leaves me with 24 pulp cars. Still too many but better then the 50 I found myself with a few weeks ago. There are a couple more cars I want for the paper mill and that’s it.

be safe, don’t shovel if you don’t have to

Gnorm-2.jpg
G'Norm called for help. Near as I could figure, his head was at the 5.5 inch mark.

The problem is, he was counting on the big lizard to get he and his crew out of trouble. One problem with that.

G'Norm forgot lizards are cold-blooded.

So brought him inside after I shoveled the crap off the patio again. The big snow truck, with his F150 friend, were blading the snow off our main road behind the garage (snow-pushers for hire, since were not considered city streets). That meant I had to push a lot of snow into piles near the condo. Hate doing that. The wetter the soil is by the building, the mustier my basement gets in the spring.

Oh... better go. Rex just woke up. He's still got a G'nome in his mouth. This may not end well.
