Yes, but it is a nice problem to have!
Yeah I suppose, until you run out of storage space!

You got me thinking about this and I thought I'd go downstairs to the storage area/hobby shop and dig out a few things to share! Sort of a Classic Metals photo essay! The early models came in these, I don't know, "bubble packs"? These were some of the last of the metal models. a '48 and a 53 Ford
I went kind of ape on the 53 Ford station wagons and they did two trim levels, so I would up with five of those. Old farts remember how popular station wagons were back on the day before minivans. You can't beat those 50's two tone paint jobs! Also, packaging was updated to the cheaper (I'm sure) blister pack.
The '55 Ford sedans were nice. Also two trim levels, and I think a police car and a cab. There are a couple more of those around here, but here are two:
Speaking of cabs, there was the 1950 Dodge Meadowbrook. I have a couple, maybe three of those, plus three or four of the civilian version. Shown here next to an Oxford model of a 1948 DeSoto Suburban cab, west coast paint scheme, San Francisco I think. Probably my favorite period taxi. Cars today just don't have the character the old stuff had. They all look like bars of soap that have spent a little time in the shower.
Speaking of Oxford, I find them equal to Mini Metals, and have typically been able to find them at half the price, 9 or 10 bucks a pop where Mini Metals are getting up there around 17 bucks each!
Here are the Olds Rocket 88's:
I usually end up buying those in onesies or twosies due to very few in stock.
Here are a couple of orphans: A 49 Mercury and a 55 Buick Century:
Who remembers these? The green box was the Model Power brand, and they sold for $3.99 each. Then someone must have gotten greedy because next thing you know they show up in Wal-Mart in the black box for 99 cents. I went to several Wal-Marts in my area and cleaned out everything in my era. I must have a dozen of these. There'll have to be a car dealer on whatever layout I build!

.
Last but not least, those great looking 41-46 two tone Chevy pickups, and just like the real ones, you pay more for that two-tone paint job!
I think I have an addiction here! but like Mikey says, it's a nice problem to have. We haven't touched the trucks or buses yet. Maybe another time! Maybe for the layout I should build the SP's LA's "Rathole". The downtown switching area.
