HoHoHo!
35F @ 89% overcast, no new white.

Hmmm, time to watch Die Hard, I guess.

Not much today although Monday the Dau had some problems which kept Maria up most of the night. So made an executive decision and decided not to head for Bonners Ferry and the cheaper store for shopping. So we went to Rosauers yesterday about 1600. Boy, what a zoo. Played bumper cart the whole time. Did see lots of folks that we had not seen for awhile, so that was a good part. Main objective was a Christmas ham; $2.49Lb. Also got bananas, couple of oranges, rolls, shrimp and olives ( for $0.99 can so stocked up on those ). Drooled over the Dungi crab, but at $24.99Lb no can do. King Crab legs were $110.00Lb. One of the reasons I miss the Puget Sound area; go down to the boats and buy by the crab. Anyway I suspect that the price will come down quite a bit after New Years and if that is the case, will stock up on Dungi.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year y'all!

56°F this morning. Good morning and Frohe Weihnachten to all here.

Looking for 63°F today. A far cry from what was hyped up on Saturday as being "summer-like". We had a dense fog advisory issued mid-evening last night until 0900 this morning. It wasn't as bad as they said it would be, but it is still a bit foggy out currently. Sidewalks are still sweating too since the temp and dewpoint are almost the same.

Have a great Christmas season! Servus!

Good morning from Christmas Eve morning in Wisconsin. I started and finished my Christmas shopping for Terry at 9 this morning when Barnes and Noble opened this morning. I checked with the kids to see if they purchased any of the books off the her list I sent them in October. So, I’m covered when she pulls out the gift to me that we weren’t buying this year. I haven’t been in our Barnes and Noble in over a year. It still amazes me how the coffee shop is packed any time of a day I have been in there.

The son and I finished routing the third lane of the slot track at 7:30 this morning. He, his g/f and his sister are there now sanding down the track. I will inspect it around 11am or 40 minutes from now. The glue really set well enough so last night at 9 we started routing out the slots. The daughter while we were routing the track started on the 8’ section of pit lane and the 2 sets of switching to get the cars from the track to pit lane. I was going to do them in January but she started them. Pit lane is easy, the lane switches are very finicky. But she is following the diagram and has helped on 2 previous tracks and doesn’t need me looking over her shoulder. The 8’ pit lane he can take. We will ship the lane switching segments earlier in January than I had planned.

Family and friends start coming over this afternoon at 2 for family and 3 for friends. Looks like 18 for the Christmas Eve beef tenderloin dinner at 7pm. I’m heading out to the slot track as I was just texted, where r u?

Merry Christmas

Why does the team mascot look like Daffy Duck?

And now you've seen it, you can't unsee it..
LOLOLOLOL! I was going to point that out, but being Christmas and all I pulled back! But then again, I look at the Dodge Viper emblem upside down and saw Daffy Duck there!

Good Christmas Eve afternoon. The Christmas spirit missing much of the season so far has started to take hold a little. By time family and friends start showing today I’ll have the spirit.

I inspected the slot track as they were finishing up in a couple places where the grain bubbled on the birch. Changed grits on the palm sander and took care of that. Dry clothed the track, ran the vacuum over it again and decided we are done. Tomorrow we will disassemble the parts all bolted together and put it in the back of his truck. I have a frame that sits in the bed of a pick up. We will bolt the frame pieces to that frame to prevent the stacked frames from shifting and damaging the slot surfaces of the track. Based on measurements it should fit with room to spare.

I’m going to my train room, clean the track, test a couple trains and then get ready for the guests. Just a few might ask to see trains running but if they do, it will be ready

Merry Christmas

Good afternoon. It's sunny and 78.
Amazon just gave me the "gift" of AI in its latest Kindle for IOS update. I made this unpleasant discovery when I accidentally bumped the screen on my iPad, and up popped the AI, telling me all about a book I was reading. Now that it told me the entire synopsis and ending of the book in 50 sentences, I no longer need to read the book. Gee, thanks... I asked Amazon how to turn it off or disable it, and the suggestions I got were eye-opening.
1-Deregister your Kindle
2-Close your Amazon account.

Wow. I guess AI told me where to go and what to do with myself on the way there...

Wishing all a very Merry Christmas on this Christmas Eve day.......

Weather here in west Texas has been in the low to mid 80s since last Monday and is supposed to last until Saturday. Next Sunday shows high of 57 but warming up during the next several days. Not much chance of a "White Christmas " here. I had to run the AC in my car yesterday on my trip into town.

Not much else going on...........John

Willie: There are subtle differences between Chrome and Firefox if you look close. Edge on the other hand is a different animal.
You are also correct on the memory usage. Might not matter to you or if you even care, the below is what 'task manager' reports. Both with one tab opened, FF has 7 more ( additional ) processes to get stuff to your screen and uses ~5.5 times the memory. The entry line for both tell us the cpu and memory used. On my system it does not matter that much as I have 48G of memory and dual 3.6G multi-threading CPU's. For reasons unknown, FF has been my goto for many years; guess that ima just used to it.

While you are looking at the "performance" of Chrome or Firefox, you should be more concerned with personal data collection of the two. Chrome is by far one of the worst offenders on the web in personal data collection. Firefox (which I still use on occasion) started out as "being a more private browser" but has declined in that area in the last several years.
I now use "Brave" as my browser and it works great. Rated with one other browser as the most private (not collecting personal data) on the web.
Each to their own here, I just don't care for data collectors selling my info for their monetary gain and I'm not going to make it easy for them.
Just my nickels worth....John
