I've heard it's so cold up North, they're finding dogs frozen to fire hydrants...
Myth, hoax, false news!

What’s happening is Floridians up here are French kissing the flag poles to see if tongues will really stick to it

Rumor is it does, not personally ever tested the theory

In the mid-30's to 50's today along the Front Range. Wife insists the dogs need their sweaters (3-yr-old cocker spaniel and 15 yr-old cockapoo), but no precip in the forecast. Mountain ski resorts are getting what snow there is. Biggest problem with weather conditions like this is when it does snow, the pavement is warm enough that the snow melts and then freezes at night, which makes for hazardous driving. The native drivers are the worst! It's their given right to go 10 miles over the speed limit regardless of the road conditions! AWD doesn't mean much when the other idiot is sliding all over the streets!

Stay warm and safe!

Afternoon all,

Spent the morning making goodies after the wife decided we need to root out all the expired spices in our cabinet.

Cleaned out 6 32oz spice containers to use as shaker jars on the railroad, even managed some 8oz with the split shaker/spoon type caps. They just need to run through the dishwasher top shelf and I'll put them in my stash.

Q. Why is Santa so Jolly?

A. He knows where all the naughty girls live.

Later. Still working on things around the house.

Good afternoon. It's a damp dismal day here in Libby. Todd pretty well covered what's going on. Unfortunately, some people may have to take us to 40 minute detours with the bridges out. I believe that Todd is on well water where he is, but anyone on city water have a boil water warning. Stopped by the Red Cross center in town and picked up a case of water. For now, they don't know how long the boil issue will last. The water flow has receded substantially since the 11th.

Willie - People down your way don't seem to deal with snow very well. I am showing 46 here in town and the forecast for tomorrow is 50, but will be going down from there.

KriegslokBR52 - You are so right about having small tools. I acquired so many over the years with drill bits going down to size 80 and miniature taps and a good selection of hemostats among them. Have no use for many of the now no longer having a layout.

Louis - I was really suprised this morning when I got back home and found 2 Amazon packages at my door. Delivery on a Sunday ????

TomO - My ex now lives in Florida where she has many relatives. Montana winters, especially is the Bozeman area can get brutal. We had one stretch where we went 45 days where the high for the day didn't get above zero. She is really laughing at the people whining when the temps ger below 50. We're still good friends. I just can't stand the heat and humidity in Florida. This is what we had to deal with during the winter. This was when it was nice just before Christmas. There was more snow to come with snow piled up along the driveway up to 5 feet deep. Still waiting to see winter here in Libby. Makes a difference being on the west side of the divide. Don't miss it at all.

Afternoon to all..........

In response to Patricks' post..........

Q. Why does Santa have no children?
A. He has toys in his bag......... 🤣

Cold in west Texas today with 40 for a high; 60 for a high tomorrow and 69 & 70 for Tuesday and Wednesday. Glad it will be nice on Wednesday as I need to take my cat to the vet for annual rabies shot. As I was typing, I noticed the cat heading for the bathroom. I left the lid up on the toilet and she decided to sample the water there. She took off when I flushed the water. She has a water bowl right next to her food bowl. Oh well.....they're cats.

Gotta get busy trying to wrap up a drafting project. It is a fancy steel/wood stair going in a 3.5 million dollar home. The architect blew his drawing as he missed the second floor landing by about 2 feet. And the engineer just furnished a couple of "generic" sections on how to anchor the main supports that really won't work, similar but different, so I am having to make things work using some dimensions furnished to me by my customer.
This seems to be a common issue on residential fancy steel stairs. But it pays pretty good so I can blow more $$$$$ on trains.

Take care.....John

Good afternoon. It's mostly sunny and 73.
It was so pleasant today that I decided to uncover the gas grill that was included with the house when I bought it. One of the roller wheels had fallen apart, and the previous owner had that corner supported by a brick. The LP tank, hoses, and burners look good, though the electronic igniter doesn't work. It probably needs the battery replaced. They had left the gas valve on the LP tank on, and the tank is still full, so I'm pretty sure that means the supply doesn't have any leaks. I cleaned the cooking surface, and checked all 5 (!) burners to make sure everything works. I ran it up to 350 degrees indicated by the thermometer, then grabbed some hot dogs, and some hamburger patties. I discovered the temp will continue going up with the lid shut, unless I turn off at least two of the burners.
After I got done cooking and the grill cooled off, I cleaned it, and put the cover back on. And of course the cover began to disintegrate in my hands. I ordered a new one from the River company, it should be here tomorrow.
The hamburgers have cheddar cheese and bacon chunks throughout, and they taste great. I had to force myself to only eat one, and one hot dog.
This is the time of year that we put up with hurricanes for.

Evening folks, its currently 36 and clear. Phone says it will get down to 29 tonight. Yesterday was cold and misty, pretty much stay at home weather, until the folks asked if I wanted to hit up Golden Corral. I like how you can either eat like an adult, or eat like an 8 year old when there😁

Today me and my dad did some Christmas shopping in town, one stop was a pottery painting place to make something for my mom. Basically the stuff is already premade, you just got to paint it then they'll bake it in a kiln. I went with a Christmas tree that you put a fake candle in, and my dad picked a cookie/cake plate. I'm sure they'll turnout pretty nice, takes about a week to get them back.
