Well the courtroom drama is over at least for me. After a lot of get up and go wait in the hallway, they seated a jury without me. The case was an intent to distribute methamphetamine case. I got eliminated because I knew a young man, son of a close friend and friend of our family, who overdosed (Quaaludes) and died about 25 years ago. They decided that I couldn't be objective. Probably correct assumption. Didn't get home until after 2 and I've since had lunch and a nap. I think that I was also eliminated because despite hearing aids, I had to ask the DA and the judge to repeat stuff.

I mean. Who could be objective in a drug case.

The bullet train right before ours was the Hello Kitty 500 on a Kodama (commuter) service. It runs once a day from Hakata (Fukuoka) to Shin-Osaka station and back. Being a commuter service Kodama it stops at every station.

This is our ride. We’re on it right now. It is a Nozomi service in an N700A. The latest model is N700S but a lot of A models are still in service. They started coming out around 2011. The Nozomi is the fastest service and I think only stops 5 times before it gets to Tokyo from Kobe. We’re getting off 2 stops before Tokyo at Shon-Yokohama. There is a short stop at another Tokyo station called Shinagawa that helps reopening to the airport and stuff. Easier to get on and off without going to the super huge Tokyo station. But we’re getting off one before that. It’s like 2 o sw hours roughly. We stop 3 times before we get off.

I’ve never been on a Nozomi before as the JR Pass doesn’t include Nozomi service and we’ve always used JR Pass before. This time we bought tickets. We’ve always used the Hikari service. Which is also a super fast express service but it stops at like 2 or maybe 3 extra stations between Osaka and Tokyo. It’s about 20? Minutes longer. The Kodama commuter bullet trains are like 5-6 hours to Tokyo so you’d never take them all the way. Just to the next large Shinkansen station and switch to a Nozomi or Hikari.

Again. Sorry for the rotated pics. The forum software strips out the orientation data and I’m on my phone without a good way to easily rotate it.

I can't find a proper picture of a tree with angel hair. All of the photos I have found are hidden on Crapbook and since I'm not a member, I can't see the full-size image. I'm not going to be sucked into that brain squeeze site, so this photo will have to do.

If you are a member of this mind-numbing site, you can run a Google search for 'Christmas trees with angel hair from the 1960s' and a whole slew of thumbnails will return and point you to Fü"&book.

Evening folks. Its 40, wet and drizzly; been pretty much like that all day but I think its crept up to 43 earlier.

Looks like strobelight and my household are in the same boat: Heater is out. We got the fireplace blazing for now, new furnace will be installed tomorrow AM.

As for train stuff, I've got this SF SW7 body I snagged for cheap. Either I can modify the MP cab and base to fit, or turn it into a calf unit. Either way it'll be a dummy and will be lashed up to a powered SW1000. Thoughts? :)

That looks ghostly.

We called that stuff “icicles”.
My sisters called them icicles.
Yep that's what we called it. I'm sure different parts of the country had different names for it.
I call it a disaster waiting to happen if you have a train under the tree. No need to ask me how I know. I can tell you it is not always easy to remove from the axels. My ex-wife insisted on using it anyway, I don't miss her.

I still have four unopened packs, labeled Icicles. I think of my late sister Cathy when I see them in the box, or one someone's tree, she loved that stuff! She once called me on Christmas Eve because she couldn't find any.
they seated a jury without me.
I'm glad they spared you.
The case was an intent to distribute methamphetamine case.
That would have been sad, if not extremely disturbing.
I knew a young man, son of a close friend and friend of our family, who overdosed
I would think that could include everyone in the US.
And yes I'm that twisted...
I was thought of that song as I was repairing (punishing myself) the lights for the tree. I have new sets still in the box, bit nooo I had to fix those!

Now for a happy Christmas song.
I'm not Italian, but I love this song!

It’s like when those caterpillars make the mess in the forest trees. Or maybe Shelob’s children live there.

I'm up. Looks like an inch or two fell overnight.

I'll log into the Jury duty portal in an hour or so to see if aliens from Mars have taken over. I doubt it, but it might happen...

If you've got 19 minutes, here's some odd facts about my home state. The vid moves kind of slow, but is interesting.
