We found out while there that Yuengling used corn in all their beers as an adjunct.
I stand corrected.

Yuengling does not publicly list corn as an ingredient, but independent brewing sources confirm that corn (usually flaked corn or corn grits) is used as an adjunct grain in the mash.

Now we know at least one of the other natural flavors.

This is extremely common in American lagers, where corn or rice is often used to create a smoother, lighter profile. Wheat, oats, and other grains are sometimes used as well.

I’ve never tasted a lager I didn’t like. While I have a special fondness for a crisp Pilsner, I’m happy with any lager.

I have Busch beer in my refrigerator right now, but these days I use beer more for cooking than for drinking. Beer is not good for diabetes. I still split a can with my wife. I buy cans because they stay fresh longer, and since we drink so little, that’s important to us.

Heading to the wife's family Xmas in a few moments. This has come off the grill, sliced, and in a fresh pan. We have Sweet Potato Casserole, My BBQ Baked Beans, Cherry Cheesecake, and the wife's GimBap... which makes the house smell like seaweed, and makes me slightly nauseous.

Seems we did a flying day trip down to Galveston about 30 ish years ago? I forget the name of the air-travel club that did those one day trips based out of Indianapolis. We had fun, but I didn't know I was at the front edge of an ear infection. By the time we got to the catered lunch of fish-n-chips on the aircraft carrier museum ship, I was green. Once we got home, two flights in one day, I was in pain.

Seaweed and seafood smells still bring that sensation back.

I made the wife turn on the vent fan and open a window.

Back later
Galveston has a submarine, a cruiser and now the battleship Texas, but no aircraft carrier. If you were on a carrier museum, you would have been on the Lexington in Corpus Christi

For most of my life, long before I was baking the ham. We had an Esskay (a Baltimore meat co.) Silver Label whole ham on our table for Easter and Christmas.

Smithfield bought Esskay and to the best of my memory the last Silver Label ham I was able to buy was in 2012. Since then, I buy butt portions. If I need a whole ham I bake two butt portions. It is usually cheaper/pound, and they have less bone.

I've tried all sorts of brands, I never found one I didn't like, except for glazed hams, I don't care for those.
Another bit of useless pork trivia.....

In 2013(?) Smithfield Foods was bought by the Chinese.

Speaking of which, I know I've mentioned I've seen more and more things "Made in Vietnam". I am in the same position over that country as my parents were regarding Japan, for similar reasons. As more and more manufacturing shifts there, and bearing in mind most, if not all future production of MicroTrains will come from there, at what point should I decide to die on that hill? I've returned a laptop that was made there, and several name-brands of clothing now are made there, including the uniforms I have to wear at work.

. Making the plates and dunnage is no real issue, but getting the right color paint for the steel might make the task impossible for me.
I've tried different combinations the closest I've gotten is Vallejo Intermediate blue then a light coat of steel gray. The blue hue background and the steel gray (very light coat) over it makes a nice look. Post 1,488 above.

I remember it about 5 minutes after I buy a Smithfield product...
There is that.

I'm not worried about Made in Vietnam or anything from the past. I try and avoid China made or China owned things as much as possible. Not always possible, but I try. But China is the main threat to the world today. I won't say more due to the threat of passing into the political.

since two feral cats took up residence
I'm not sure which I prefer, the rat or the cats... :P I try to get rid of both.

I searched yesterday and didn't find traces of any residence, so may be just a passerby. I will make sure that he's not just distracting me while he makes a house somewhere else in my yard.

Nice job on that end of train device! I may have to get one now. Neat!
