🎼🎵🎶I'm dreaming of a brown Christmas, with a predicted high of 49! 🎶🎵

Like that huh?? Yeah, we sing that song darn near every year around here. Why? cuz it's TRUE!

Can we get Christmas moved to somewhere like Mid-January, so we can maybe see snow with all the pretty lights, maybe then mid winter wont feel so drab.

In other news, the wife is still hating life and the stones, no not Mick and Keith, but kidney. :( I don't dare tell her that this too shall pass again. Last time I said it she told me, "One more time mister, and I'll superglue your junk to your leg!" Nope Nope Nope, not gonna say it!;)

nite all

I don't normally look too far ahead, but your post prompted it. Looks like Christmas day for us in Northern Illinois is going to be mid 50s with a chance of rain. 🤣

Looks like no white Christmas for us either.

Might have to have to get the mower back out with all this rain and warmth!

I was wandering around Feebay earlier, and I found an N scale locomotive. That in itself is not unusual, there are a lot of them for sale there.
What was unusual was the level of detail, and how crisp it looked. It looks to have better detail than most engines I see here.
It has what looks like a full cab interior, separate windshield wipers, crisp paint and lettering, wire grab irons, etc.
I've noticed before some stuff for other countries is much better than what we have to deal with.
This one is a Chinese-built model of a Chinese prototype, and is not DCC ready.
Remember, this is N scale:

Most of my trains are non-US and you get good detail like that on the Fleischmann and Trix/Minitrix and some of the Japanese. My US KATO are pretty good actually and the Japanese KATO are about the same as the US in terms of detail etc but the European ones I have are really good.

The Chinese are coming out with a lot of their prototypes in N and they always sell out really fast it seems. I don't do them but there is a subgroup on the JNS forum (Japanese N-Scale) that deals with the Chinese ones.

That's really impressive. The rivets on the cab window side frames, for example. The vents atop the cab. Top notch stuff if injection molded, for sure.

Model current six-axle trucks with that kind of depth and detail? A winner compared to almost everything out there.

Window panes closer to the side surfaces than otherwise typical too. Whoever they are, they are certainly improving the N-scale breed.

Twenty years ago, today I married my little Angel. The best thing I ever did!

This is a photo of a photo from our wedding day that hangs on our wall. I can't find the original. It looks much better on the wall. I have a lot to learn about taking photos.

The look on my face may show my apprehension. I knew from my first marriage; beauty is not enough. My little Angel has proven over and over to me that my decision to get remarried was the best I ever made.

My little Angel is everything I ever hoped for and so much more! Her beauty is equaled by her kindness, patience, seemingly endless energy and devotion to me and our entire family. She has even bought trains for me and supports me in everything I do. I could go on and on about her, but I think you get the point.

My only question is why did she marry me? By the Grace of God, I am what I am, the happiest man in the world!

Louis- Happy Anniversary to you and your lovely bride!

Good morning, everyone!

Cold start to the day at 16 degrees. The dusting of snow forecasted for last night never materialized. Supposed to start warming up again middle of the week.

Lots of small Christmas errands to run today. We made a list last night of all the last-minute details to still be done, and I'm going to try and knock most of them out this morning.

Have a safe day everyone!

Good morning gang!

32° with a few tiny ice balls on the truck this morning. Sunny now, temps near 50° later. Another rough night with Sharon last night. She still has not passed the stone yet, and she is fighting pain and nausea. She has a telehealth appointment today. Like the typical girl she is, she was taking a shower and will be dressed and not a hair will be out of place for the telehealth appointment. Me in the same situation, you're lucky if I have pants on.
Good morning. It's 48 and clear.
The seller finally found the Post Office, and my newsed engine should be here today--unless the Post Office has their way with it.
Speaking of which, the USPS must have teleported my parts from Virginia to here, as the were waiting for me when I got home. Also was a parts bag from Rapido, sent 3 days ago.
Louis- Happy Anniversary to you and your lovely bride!
Ditto here!
Speaking of Anniversaries, I failed to congratulate our friend Boris and his Angel, Natasha, on their 46th Wedding Anniversary, 12/17/23.

Happy Anniversary my friend!
Again, I'd like to echo that sentiment !! Congrats!

Bench seats, love em! I had a 1972 Maverick with a bench seat, also my 1976 F150 had a bench too. Yeah, the girlies like the looks of my Mustang, but the preferred to ride in the Maverick!
Flood clean up day begins.😒
You have quite the task ahead of you, but at least you don't have to fix the lights right??

BBL

Morning all,

32° and clear. Wind advisory later today with a high of 53°. Rain expected through the weekend with highs in the 50's through Christmas. So no white Christmas here.

Started on the cooking stuff last night. Made the first of 4 batches of Chex mix and Spicy pretzels. My wife wants to give goody bags for kids to take home, so it involves me cooking. I don't mind doing it. It's kind of relaxing.

Try the bench seat of a 1979 C10 Chevy...Lots of room there, less so with the factory 4 speed on the floor. Low creeper gear and the the 3 main gears. Man I miss that truck, but you always miss the first vehicle you had. Bought it new in 1979 as a senior in HS and traded it 2 years later.

Boris: Belated Happy Anniversary.

Louis: Happy Anniversary.
