The brand is a distant second to the system specifications.
For a sure thing, go to Costco. They will take it back for almost any reason.

Have been looking at a few from BB which is 1/2 mile away.
They are both in the 2-300 range -- NO GAMING -- it's for school work; I guess they don't use paper and pencil anymore - nor teach penmanship?
An 8x64 looks good to me?

Good Morning All!
-2F and dark - with tiny snow coming down; still not much wind.
Ended up at -14F yesterday about 0600. Snow on the ground right now at about 24". Weather guessers say around 10F @ 1700, then near 30F on Saturday, and 42F on Sunday in which above $40 for Monday - Wednesday. That is gonna make a mess if it does rain Monday/Tuesday.
Got to get the RV cleaned up for the Missoula Daughter's visit. Not that much to do and I suspect we won't do it until Saturday AM before she is to arrive. Will go out and turn the oil radiator heater up a bit. No water out there as the heated water line is buried under the snow and did not get hooked by up ( my bad ).
Boy, all you southern folks are in for a treat. -2 in Texas in places, MS, AL, LA are dang cold. Florida is about the only place warmer than 30F. We just grin at each other when we see the road conditions - better here than in/on a truck somewhere!

Yes I have learned that years ago seems to make them more angry if you just look at them with a smirk on your face shake your head and walk because that’s what they want retaliation from you and when you don’t give it really burns them up. It’s not showing weakness it’s showing wisdom there’s a time to fight and a time to stay silent.

Get a Dell. If you don't care if it is used - look for Precision WorkStations - XEON processor which will run circles around any of the ICore's. The work stations that I use are Precision 7500 and 5500 - dual Xeon's, with 8 to 16 cores each; depending.

Both are good machines. Go cheap, go with most memory and storage. Either will be fine unless he is a dedicated gamer where the sky is limit on pricing for those. Look at Best Buy on line for price checks and Costco pricing then becomes even better because it will be cheaper.

Good Morning All. Happy Festivus Day. Clear right now and 9° here, wind chill of -7°. Looking at a cloudy day with a high around 25°. This weather sucks. The wind has at least backed off to about 15 mph which should abate completely just before sunset. Temperature is predicted to continue to rise even during the overnight and finally hit above freezing just after noon tomorrow when the sunshine returns. Still cold until Wednesday when highs are expected to be in the 60's again. Certainly not as severe as some of you are reporting; at least there is no snow here. Reminds me that this is global warming!!!
Yesterday was a totally blank day, with no outdoor activity and no visit to the train shed. I did go out and bring in some firewood, but that was mainly so the granddog would go out briefly. I still have plenty of wood inside. I also drove down to the mailbox since a small package was delivered there. Today looks like more of the same, except my daughter's family is coming up to retrieve the granddog; and they are bringing a bunch of BBQ take out for us to feast on. They were fortunate enough to have their plane flight home scheduled for yesterday morning.
I chose not to go for a walk yesterday, today is iffy right now.
What happened to the Santa Claus rally on Wall Street this year???
Louis - Still waiting on the Polar Express pictures.
Dave B - That structure is a Hydrocal structure from Downtown Deco. Many but not all of the detail parts came with the kit.
Hughie - I did my best to hold the cold weather here, but Patrick just sent too much.
Karl - Getting booted from Facebook was probably a favor to you. I have never signed up.
Besides being Festivus Day, today is Eddie Vedder's (from Pearl Jam) 58th birthday. I don't really like that group.
Everybody have a great and a warm day. Be safe if you're traveling.

Back in from the cold. Got a call a couple minutes before 8 that the SIL's car was dead. 2017 KIA they didn't remember ever changing the battery on. I told the to get a new one and I'd change it. So SIL and I took 15 minutes to change it with the wind blowing across our work space. Turns out it was the original battery to the car. They bought the car as a low mileage repo that wasn't all beat up. It has been a good car for the thus far.
