You never know Terry. Be mixin' it up with the penguins.

We are experiencing record or near record for this time of year. While the roads are getting better, we may actually still have a white Christmas for the first time in about 10 years.
The last time we had weather this cold here was in 1989 and 1990. There was ice, blowing snow, and rolling blackouts.

Sitting here at 11 am waiting for our bullet train back from Kobe. Our trip from the hotel was quick and efficient. 10 min ride on the hotel Shuttlebus to the subway. 5-6 min wait. About 8 -9 min ride to the Yamanote line station and one stop on the Yamanote line (commuter train— Yamanote is actually a loop line that runs in each direction in a loop around Tokyo. Got to Tokyo station and got to the Shinkansen tracks. About 40 min in all. There is about a 15 min delay due snow somewhere though Tokyo is 48F and sunny

— pause to go buy snacks at the convenience nook on the platform.

train has arrived and we got on. Just leaving now. 23 min late due to the delays in getting here with snow by Kyoto (per announcer). They said the trains are running at slow speed on certain areas due to snow so we’ll end up probably being close to an hour late. Oh well. We’re in no hurry.

we are on one of the new N700S trains that went into service a out a year ago. A evolution of the earlier N700 and N700A trains. I didn’t get a pick as it showed up while we were getting snacks since it was running late and I didn’t know when to expect it. (on time trains you know about when to expect.). I’ll try and get a pic or two when we get off at Shin-Kobe.

It was a bad day for me. I woke up with no water. I go downstairs no pressure on the jet pump gauge. I'm thinking the foot must be leaking the last time I changed it was 25 years ago. No one had the Y part of the assembly only the foot valve. I'm thinking should I pull the 70ft of line up and just try to change the foot valve without changing both? Drove around to all the plumping stores which were about to close for Christmas no store had both they told me come back Tuesday. I bought just the foot valve and around 4PM my plumping friend showed up. He said, it's awful late and getting cold why don't we wait until Tuesday. I said, no let's pull the line up now and hope it works. So we pulled up the line installed just the foot valve without the other and it's barely pumping water but we have water for Christmas. Tuesday I'll have to take up the line again and check out the striker I think that's what they call it and see if that fixes the problem.

Right, Gentlemen and Ladies.

Tomorrow morning I'm off with my eldest to visit my sister 200 miles away in East Anglia (East Coast), staying for Christmas and New Year, it's not a tradition, I don't have any since my divorce, I do miss the ones we had, more for my kids than anything else.
I'll have my phone so I'll hopefully be able to keep up over the next week.

So I'm going to wish everyone

Merry Christmas and A Happy New Year. 🥳 🥳🥳🥳🥳
Merry Christmas Chris, have a great time

The son is at a hotel in Irving,Texas outside the DFW airport. He’s had quite the day getting tossed around pretty good by American Airlines. While his round trip ticket is $749 he now feels flying up here in his own plane and paying the hangar fees would have been better.

Here’s our weather

I will take Guy’s weather today but his cold seem continous and like 100f degree weather I couldn’t handle that either

That 12 degrees difference in wind chills means a lot in terms of comfort

NYC George: That's a heck of a thing to happen this time of year, at least you got it partially fixed !

Take care
Yes Trussrod that's the way things have been going for me lately. The reason I'm up a 2am is I don't want to lose the pump prime. I have to shut it off because it keeps on running. I read the small line from the pump to the pressure valve may get clogged with sediment causing the pump to keep on running. That's another job for tomorrow trying to get that cleaned out. When will I be able to work on my RR, I hope soon.

Louis- I just can't stay interested in video games. My time limit is about 15 minutes playing them.
I've lost interest in them as well. I have played baseball with my grandson (MLB The Show) a few times. He was so happy when he finally beat me.
He finally realized I don't throw strikes if he swings at balls. My deteriorating hands only make it harder and harder to play. Add to that my back bothers me if I sit too long.
