Good evening. 30° and clear. Survived the procedure. The good news is no significant blockage, and no stents. Bad news is I have a bad valve that will have to be repaired/replaced early in 2023. The procedure itself lasted 1 hour, + 2 hrs prep, and 3hrs recovery, mostly coming down from the joy juice, and insuring the bleeding had stopped. Got there around 0830, left a little after 1700.

The Doctor went in through a vein in my neck, and an artery in my right wrist. I have to keep it immobile for three days. It is currently not bleeding, nor has it started to hurt. The neck is sore, especially when I turn my head. NO bleeding though. Left arm at elbow is tender, where the IV was.

I was fasting from dinner time last night, through the procedure. First thing after I got to recovery, wife and I were offered sandwiches and drinks.

The only negative was Valet parking. Wife had to reclaim the car at 1545, brcause they were closing. The Recovery department is open until 2000.

Thanks for all the prayers and good wishes

Boris: Glad to hear everything went well for you. The Nattokinase may clear up the valve issue thing, also taking Nitric Oxide helps to put more oxygen in your blood, I need to order more myself.👍😊

I think I found the root of my problem was that I was low on my salt intake so I've started adding seasoned salt to my food and think I noticing freezer movement. Earlier I had to get 7 bags of fire wood which entailed a fair amount of walking and wasn't bothered too much but did take a good nap after having soup and a sandwich.

I'm so far behind preparing for Christmas! This year my health is stable, thank God. The last quarter of 2021 was not so good. My fault for ignoring small things. So far, we have only two trees lit, with two Nutcrackers standing guard at each one. Only one tree is decorated, and one nativity scene set up. No trains yet, but I do have two trains out of the closets. The advent wreaths are on the tables. Various other decorations around the house. Candy and nuts in the glass Christmas dishes.

My new Christmas tradition is leaving Christmas stuff in the closets! I have not been able to do everything, and I am not going to let it bother me. Yesterday a lady on the today show revised my line. "Do your best and don't worry about the rest." She did not give me any credit for the line either! ;) I like to say, "do your best and let God take care of the rest."

Speaking of Christmas traditions, yesterday my wife and I seasoned 10lbs of ground pork. Every year without fail my wife makes Hungarian stuffed cabbage on Christmas Eve. That tradition my wife learned from her mother, Sarah. Sarah picked it up from her mother. It's an established family tradition. I bake a ham on Christmas Eve, I don't like Hungarian stuffed cabbage. Bay leaves don't agree with me for some reason. I would not have her alter her family recipe for me. All our kids love it, even my daughters' husbands and my son's wife love it. My grandsons don't like it, so we eat ham! :D

Our traditions are part of what makes Christmas so special. But we never forget Jesus is the reason for the season.

Come to think of it, I learned another tradition from my mom. Working so much we end up scrambling to get things done! I love you mom and we miss you.

God Bless Us Everyone!

PS I would enjoy reading about other people's Christmas traditions. If you have time of course.

Good Morning All!
14F @ 69% and partly. Supposed to stay just above 0F for the next few days. Very lite snow, but it does add up.

Christmas tradition: My family and the Wife's family do different things - Imagine that. Anyway we have seemed to mingle them pretty good to both of our liking; all starts about my Birthday. She has bins and bins of knick-knacks that she puts all around the house; from 2" high santa and sleighs to 4' elves and such. There is even a 3' Santa in the front door porch area - thing HO-HO-HO's at you when you get close. We used to have those Snoopy things - Snoopy playing a piano, Snoopy skiing - battery operated and makes noise and moves around when you push a button. 15 of them of which me thinks is the whole collection. Couple of years ago she gave them to our youngest daughter who puts them out at her house. They are fun for awhile but since everybody that walks by pushes one ( or more ) button, ya get tired of it pretty fast. That is what LOUD stereo's are for ... right? You can't go anywhere without running into something cute.

Meals - Breakfast is pretty much my choice of what I want; that is true for most days. Brunch/Dinner: Birthday is my choice, Christmas Eve is graze, graze graze as that is when she does most of the cooking for the big day; lots of fudge and cookies, vegi, meat/cheese/chip tray stuff like that. Christmas Day is Ham, Yams, Green Beens, Cranberry slices and dinner rolls. Day after is graze, graze graze again. New Years is her shrimp dip and more vegi/meat/chip trays to graze on until the cracked Dungeness crab with salad hits the table. We pay for all the food intake for at least a month as it seems it takes that long to loose the extra baggage. Is it worth it? Heck YA. She loves the Christmas music - I get tired of it usually before the big day. Don't say anything, I just go and hide somewhere or take my hearing aids out.

Today is swap old server to new ( to me ) server on the INet connection. Went to MtSky yesterday about 1000 and gave them the MAC address of the new one: I get Sticky IP from that; cheaper then Static IP as I only need one IP. Took until just after midnight for the MtSky router to get around to checking the MAC address and gave me a DHCP addy that was not my Sticky. It is too dark right now to go out in the Train Cave and bring the new one in so I modified the old server to use the INet in the mean time; hence getting my fix of this forum.

Good to hear you are still with us and no stents. I too have a leaky valve, but they are monitoring it for now, as it just showed up on the last rounds of tests. My Dad had one for years, with no repair.
I have a younger cousin who has had one of his valves his replaced, and it hasn't slowed him down. I pray yours does the same.
KARL: Thank you. I seem to be blessed with leaky valves , especially the ones in the veins in my legs.

The good news bad news thing. It’s always something but better they find the valve issue now then after it’s too late. Get well

So we are back at the hotel. We have breakfast included with our room and it is a Hilton, and not on the US, so it is actually a really nice breakfast. This was what I had this morning. We’re all looking forward to tomorrow. They also have a crepe, waffle, and omelette station where guys in fancy white tall chef hats make your to order. We did not use that today as we all had full plates by time we got to that section. The goal is tomorrow…

They had both US style bacon and also Japan style bacon (which due to the fat content makes me think it is not a back bacon like Canadian bacon, but rather a wider cut of the same pork belly but cured differently and cooked “softer”. Both kinds are on the plate. The tater tots were labeled “hash browned potatoes”. The pizza slice thing was labeled “Danish pizza” as in a Danish pastry. It was good. The donuts are miniature and I had a couple more later. It’s a buffet and they make you put on disposable gloves before joining the line.

Lunch was not anything interesting — we went to a convenience store and I grabbed one of their “sweet bread” type things, some peppered almonds (dry roasted with black pepper), and a Vitamin fruit drink box. After the large breakfast I didn’t want to eat a lot mid day. I also knew we wanted to go to the food court of one of the local malls for supper.

For supper we were at the Diver City mall, an extra 5 min walk from where we were yesterday but much bigger. The food court probably had at least 15 different places to Eat — mostly various forms of Japanese style foods, but also Chinese, Indian or Middle Eastern, and that sort of thing, and a Carl’s Junior. Hamburger place (which had free refills, which is rare in Japan and usually associated with American fast food or casual sit down places, though McDonalds and Wendy’s don’t do it).

I ended up at the place that was either Indian (my best guess) or Middle Eastern. Elements of the food pictures reminded me of both. I had some sort of butter rice (with a faint turmeric taste), spicy cutlet, and some sort of faintly curry based chili with beans and meat. The curry curry taste was not strong and it tasted a lot like chili from the US, but not quite. It was tasty. (No discussion on beans vs meat vs both together in chili :) ).

My daughter wants to go to that same place I went to tonight, when we have supper tomorrow. I do as well. Want to try some of the other things I saw after I ordered — various bowls with spicy and good looking sauces and pieces of meat sitting in them. Naan style bread (or at least that sort of thing if not real naan) and the butter rice round out some of the plates they showed.

We got out of an interesting “museum” about an hour and a half ago. Now on a subway to Ikebukuro (part of Tokyo).

this museum is a sensory full body experience exhibit that you have to take your shoes off and walk around in bare feet from room to room. The halls are dark except for neutral colored lights to light the way. There are a few chin-ups with water. You start walking up an incline with water rushing down it and some lights in the sides and at the top a stream of water is falling in a waterfall type thing all lit up. Then there were a few other “mild” rooms like one with 2’ deep bean bag floor you had to try and walk through. All supposed to invoke you senses.

Then you get to the first really “wow” room. It had mirrors everywhere (floor wall ceilings) and rows and rows of hang strands of LED lights. A path was made through them so where the path is the lights stopped above your head.

they flashed the lights different colors and in various patterns. And with the mirrored walls and ceilings it made it look like it went on forever. The effects were very much like you were in a live movie set or maybe like what people describe who have near death experiences. It was wild and cool and very well done. Here is a pic or two. Doesn’t really capture it but it gives a small taste.
Further descriptions of other rooms in a later post. Almost to our destination

As long as you and the family enjoyed it, is what counts. I am not sure I could handle the sensory overload. The “wow” room would probably set me into an anxiety panic.
