I would like to say the brown is too dark on this one. I could be wrong.

Sitting in the waiting room of the local hospital right now. I had just gotten back from picking up a pizza for supper and my wife was on the phone. I could tell something was up by the way she was talking. Turns out her mom had fallen and they were taking her to the hospital, so here we are. My wife is back with her as they check her mom out. My MIL is in her mid eighties and has dementia pretty bad, so under the best of circumstances things tend to be difficult. Hopefully, nothing is broken or worse. Hoping for the best. This could be a long night.

When I broke my hip, I had to wait 5 days for surgery. The doctor was on vacation, the hospital ended up sending me 200 miles to another hospital. We're STILL waiting at the local hospital for an ambulance to transport my MIL to a large hospital in Springfield. She fell about seven hours ago and has been at this hospital for six hours. It'll be about an hour's drive from here and the temperature is 2°……………at least it's not snowing.
Who said that the US has the best health care in the world? Don't get me wrong, they are very nice and apologetic but that doesn't help much. It's not the folks here, it's just the way life is in rural America. Funding is tight in more densely populated areas but it is extremely tight, to the point of almost being non-existent, in sparsely populated areas.
