Same here young man, but Milwaukee Road.....maaaaan, I wanted it badly, but....the seller didn't ship outside the US!

Here's one that I'm keeping an eye on!

REA 9513.jpg

Likewise mate! Having a nice and quiet weekend here, working on my all time diesel roster for my Michigan Interstate (I need to change the name on that company, as there was a real Michigan Interstate) and Milawukee & Western and snooping around for more Milwaukee Road books etc., etc...

Good morning. It`s cloudy and 50.
I normally don't sleep well, but ever since last Saturday, when I woke to the sound of my phone ringing, I have been waking up at exactly this time. Hopefully, eventually this will stop happening, it makes for a long day. I usually get to bed around 10:30.

Seems to me shipping to the UK would be as safe as shipping across the US, but you can't make people do anything. I hope you find another one 113. One thin I learned about eBay is there is almost always another one.

Terry I am sorry to hear you are not getting your usual sleep. it's important, but not much you can do about it. Once fatigue sets in you will sleep, but in the mean time be sure to stay hydrated because dehydration almost always accompanies fatigue.

113 and I are almost always here this time of day and I know I can speak for us both when I say we welcome your company.

I am in and out between doing things. Work a bit rest a bit, that is my life now, but I have to thank God because the work is gaining on the breaks!

Ok here is a bit of venting!

One thing I don't like is when I make an offer on eBay and it is ignored. Make a counter offer, reject my offer or at least tell me to go take a dump in my hat, but my God man don't ignore me!!!

Good morning everybody!

45 with clear skies in southeast Baltimore

I hope everybody has a great Sunday!

A lack of response is a response. It tells me the seller not only didn't like my offer but considers me not worth his time to say anything. I ignore that seller from that point on.

Curt- How close were you to the crash at the drags? Scarey for everyone. Darn sure lucky driver only bruised and shook up.
Saw the pictures on the sports news. Those safety cages do work.

Totally Louis, that you can do indeed! :D

That's just rude my good man! One thing that's annoying, maybe not as much annoying as disappointing, on ebay, is when I find a great deal, price for something that I want, they don't ship outside the good ol' US of A!
I don't blame them though, with some of the prices they come up with and other ideas, ebay that is, it's certainly has taken a turn for the worse..:(

Garry, I told you a couple weekends ago to file an extension and go play trains! :-)

Actually, my Main Squeeze and I are doing taxes for ourselves, one daughter, one son, and my 95-year-old mother. ... Ours just got completed which took a while because of Schedule C for business expenses. The two adult children also have Schedule C's. One of them is our son whose business is quite complicated, and we spend our time doing much of his bookkeeping. .. My mother's taxes are complex because she partly lives off of investments which she sells with capital gains. (Actually, she pays somebody to manage investments). I do not think the elderly should pay taxes at all because they have paid so much in their younger years. ... My wife and I are retired number crunchers, and so we are the ones asked to do taxes for others.

How many people here are retired and hear the following? ... "You are retired, and you are doing nothing. Please do this work for me."

I never mis-shifted like you guys are talking about.
My neighbor across the street used to have a tiny Suzuki truck with 4 speed.
It looked like something that belonged on the golf-course rather than on the streets.
It was also right-hand drive. He handed me the keys one day saying lets go for a ride.
I've never driven right-hand drive before. The 4-speed H-pattern was the same except I had to shift left-handed [of course].
My brain seemed to want to transfer that pattern symmetrically. I just had it in my head that 1st and 2nd was by my leg like usual so when I went for 1st I was getting 3rd, 2nd was 4th and so on. I never did really "get it".

Nobody actually says that to me Garry, but my kids often say "dad would you..." I spoil them and always say yes.

As for taxes I let turbo tax handle it. I also use quicken and keep good up to date records, it can be very simple and easy, but I know enough about accounting to know taxes can be very different for each individual.

After so many years as a salesmen, and being self employed I have a thick skin. I will do business with Satan himself if he has something I want and the price is right. Especially on eBay with eBay's buyer protection policy.

I will give the seller the benefit of the doubt and hope he just has not seen the offer yet, but it still annoys me!

Morning All,

Woke up this morning with a mild headache. Slept for about 9 hours! I guess the 2 early days and being out in the sun took it's toll. I was only at the qualifying on Friday and was home by 9 AM Saturday after spending the night there. I had a great time with great friends. I got some sunburn there and then was in the sun yesterday so I was pretty beat. I would of liked to stay for the entire event (finals today) but with the family vacation to Gatlinburg starting on this coming Saturday (MOH, Daughter, Grand Kids and me) for a week even though MOH said to stay the entire time I just couldn't justify the money to myself.

Hopefully I will be able to get to the layout today and continue to remove scenery and track for the current project. I believe my daughter is supposed to come over to help MOH make a baby quilt that she asked to be made for a friend.

Tomorrow I have an early appointment with my VA doc. She is probably give me hell about my blood sugar and cholesterol. Thursday MOH is helping out at the school all day. They are having some kind of field day, and last but not least on Saturday on the road by 6 AM.

Phil- I missed the wreck but saw the pictures. Dixon was lucky to walk away.

I hope everyone has a good day.

Hiya Gang!
After 2 days of Monsoon rains coupled with the melt off of snowmageddon, we finally get some sunshine today! Going to finish up the new garage workspace today, then get back to working on OPP (Other peoples projects), which I have more or less ignored while the garage was being redone. I also have another huge pile to put on eBay,,,,,,,I need 2 Sundays a week!

Speaking of eBay,,,,,

Seems to me shipping to the UK would be as safe as shipping across the US,

(With apologies in advance to those located across the pond)

I wish it was, but I believe the UK postal system is a division of the Ray Charles/Stevie Wonder parcel delivery service. Case in point, I once sold a CSX wide cab unit to a chap from the UK, with DCC & custom weathering. Quite a realistic model. After paying for the loco and the appropriate shipping I sent it on its way. A month later tracking showed it was still in the hands of the UK Post. Or at least had been handed off by the USPS. A week or so later it ended up on my front porch. It had been to the UK, an returned to me as "no address found". I contacted the buyer who verified the address on the box was correct. So now it leaves me with a dilemma. Do I refund the buyer (and lose money) or do I double down on the UK post and try again? (At MY expense) I chose the latter. I switched the engine to a new box (the outer box was a little rough by this point from 2 transatlantic voyages) and sent it again, 3 weeks later it was in its new home. The loco made it, the buyer was happy, and I learned a lesson. So new , my eBay stuff goes to the US & Canada, and Canada is getting to be a P.I.A. Its seems Stevie & Ray have started branching out.

Good morning all. Heat wave up here in Montana. We were up to 72 degrees yesterday and are starting the day off at 56 this morning. Not really good as trees and shrubs could start budding and then I'm sure we'll get a few more freezes. 70's expected again today.

Think I will take a chance and switch tires from winter to summer tires next week.

Ed, driving a right hand drive vehicle can be a challenge if you're not used to it. While in the service years back I got initiated but it really didn't take long to get used to it.

How could anyone ignore you Louis??

I've only ignored 1 eBay bidder ever. I had a kit listed on eBay and after the 2nd week, he offered to buy it at a reduced price and he wanted free shipping. I declined and actually reconsidered the item and pulled it from eBay, Thinking I might want to keep it. A month later I relisted it. He sent me a message saying its never going to sell at my price, an he reinstated his prior offer, oh and now he's moved from Virginia to Florida, and still want free shipping! That caused me to write a long diatribe to him , basically stating the eBay was an auction, not "lets make a deal". Upon further reflection I decided to hit the delete key instead. The next day the kit sold, at my price plus shipping, to somebody else. ;)

Almost choked on my hot brew there, close to spit it out over the screen as well....Ray Charles/Stevie Wonder Parcel Delivery Service! pmsl
Happened to me as well, just the once so far....I insisted to pay half of the second shipping, as I reasoned that it wasn't the sellers fault and
he shouldn't have to pay it all again, only fair I think...
